Ibime: Dis JT and nervous problem sef?
Abi e no fit get normal injury? Last time na say nerves for I'm back don pop, now na another story.
Omo, we get enough hard games to come o. I done talk am say last season na Manure dash us trophy. I hope say opponents no go open our nyash before Christmas, cos the way these boys dey play, dem fit give pesin heart attack. All indication suggests we will drop more points before Jan The only thing that has kept us in the title race was keeping a clean poo at home and conceding fewer goals on the road, thanks to our defensive unit (Petr in particular) we do not have that luxury any more with JT and Alex out injured and in addition to the problem, our goal scoring form so far doesn't suggest we can outscore our opponent To win games consistently, a combination of strong defence and free scoring attack are useful and one of these element are definitely crucial and we are lacking on both front atm. Our ability to stay in the title race without the help of man utd and arsenal before Jan, when hopefully our injured key players return, will be seriously tested and tbh I have absolutely no confidence in this team atm. |

Ibime: Ferreira just spreads uncertainty through the back 4 abeg.
A centre-back can be mentally unsettled just because he doesnt trust his partner. Ive experienced it many times playing CB.
He doesnt need to make a mistake to have negative influence.
Im sure Bruma has had call up to Holland squad before. Theres no reason Bruma would not perform twice as well as Ferreira. mufasa: He should have just started Bruma Jare. Ferreira would have come in for Bosingwa at 60 mins if need be.
Then in the middle he should have started Josh Machaecran. If we lost with these boys in the start then he would have an excuse.
Patapata he would have instructed Mikel to keep an eye on Bruma. Thats all. Bruma's inexperience would have been greatly exposed today. . . He is not ready to face the big test yet. bear in mind, Goalkeeping and defending errors are usually more costly than any other area on the pitch, you need an experienced player in such a delicate role. Besides he (Bruma) looked very shaky against Newcastle in the CC. |

nateevs: The last time we lost a game producing a fantastic performance. . 0-2 to Liverpool. . but I guess you will probably say that's not true because you are blinded by the fact that we lost.
The Fulham game is one of the last 6 EPL games you are referring to and Kalou single-handedly could easily have scored a hat-trick for himself. Do you produce such chances for a hat-trick by luck? What is you on about. . ?
If you cannot answer the question why we could not get a goal today, then there's no point having this discussion as you only prove what I said. You sit on the sidelines, in your comfort zone and simply say, they didn't perform. Why don't you tell us why you think they didn't perform, since you only enjoy the football when we are on top. . ? Fantastic performance at Anfield. . . .dude, upgrade your black and white TV to HD ASAP Liverpool totally dominated the1st half at anfield and in the 2nd half, we raised the game but even that could never qualify as a "fantastic performance" If having 10 shot at goal throughout 90 mins at SB against Fulham is your idea of a "fantastic performance" then you must be high on Madea's breast milk BTW that 3rd paragraph was an extremely weak attempt at dodging the simple question directed at you. . . it ain't working so try again |

Ibime: Am 100% sure that we have centre-back in the youth team that can do a better job than Ferreira.
History has shown that Ferreira at CB is always a disaster. JM lost 06/07 title due to Ferreira playing centre-back.
I don't know why we can't put round pegs in round holes. Houllier had no midfield yesterday and didn't hesitate to play Jonathan Hogg and Barry Bannam from the youth team, and nearly beat Manure regardless. Why can't we do the same instead of Ferreira, Ferreira all the time? While PF's defensive ability at CB is highly questionable, you cannot ignore the fact that the back four bar Bosingwa were almost equally culpable for all the goals we conceded. so PF should not be singled out for criticism. perhaps there's no guarantee Bruma or any other CB from the YS would have done a better job than PF today |

nateevs: Folks have a right to react all they want. . . except it has to be within the boundaries of common sense. The true fans dig deep and look for the core reasons we are not performing. The find and analyse these reasons. . Self inflicted or unavoidable?
When they then come to a conclusion, they use the result as a yardstick for judging the outcome of other games. . So when we don't perform well, they don't go over board calling for the heads of all and sundry. That's the way it should be . . Not reacting for the sake of it.
The Chelsea thread is the only thread that never has enough people to say "We lost . . So bloody what"? . .
The next lines you see are . . This player is crap, that player is crap. The manager should be fired blah blah. It's a bloody game of football, and we deserve to lose many times. . . sometimes we will lose without the faintest of desires to win. . So damn what? We will bounce back and probably still win the title? So what's the fuss about? Another round of opaks . . . I think you do this for a hobby We had weaknesses at the back tonight which might explain the 3 goals we conceded, what about offensively, was JT and Alex's absence also responsible for our lack of goal? "Mr real chelsea fan" When was the last time we lost a game this season despite producing a fantastic/good performance? Is there a genuine or legitimate excuse for the below par performances in our last 6 epl games? If refusing to condone mediocrity will qualify me as a bad chelsea supporter then I am more than willing to wear and flaunt that tag like a badge of honour without an iota of shame sef |

nateevs: What do you mean below par performances? You expect us to win every game? Out of 13 games played so far we have lost 3 and drawn one, our performances/victories bar West brom and Wigan have been nothing remarkable sometimes a good result/3pts doesn't often tell the entire story as we have had to grind out results against lesser teams. . .even wolves were very unlucky not to have taken a point from the game at SB, all thanks to Cech I will be more than happy and satisfied with a bad result provided they play well and give 100% on the pitch |

chic2pimp: Stop spewing rubbish. When has Heskey ever been anything but an Average striker? Torres on the other hand is nothing short of a top class performer. Those players you mentioned played as their teams No 1 striker(barring raul who sometimes played behind Morientis as a SS). Torres however has often been played out of position so as to accomodate David Villa(has been deployed as a left winger on numerous occasion in spain's 4-5-1 formation). Now you are just being silly. Ceni is an average Goalie at best. Likewise Vermalaen is an average defender. Mind you If we are judging by Goals alone, then we might as well Rate Lampard and Gerrard over Xavi and Zidane. I'm I missing something here I thought it was the other way round and Torres has usually been Spain's target man upfront. NO |

dayokanu: Do you know Thierry Henry is France highest goal scorer?
Cristiano Ronaldo has 25 goals for Portugal, Wayne Rooney has 26, Ronaldinho has 32 despite all not being strikers.
Wht is Torres excuse? In the same team Villa blossomed Torres failed.
Torres failure is on a whole new level. He even had to be benched for his country to win the World cup I'm talking about their overall performance/contributions for their respective countries Do you honestly believe that these players, in NT colours, have been anything close to the player they are/were at club level in their prime? I remember you once criticised all the players in question for their below par country performances, so why the change of opinion all of a sudden? |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Chelsea Fans Thread : Winners of the FA Cup And League Winners 09/10 by jalether(op): 3:04am On Nov 09, 2010 |
dayokanu: Del Piero is not a top striker and has never been.
he has always played behing Vieri, Inzaghi, Trezeguet, Iaguinta in Juve
His goal records should be compared to a similar player maybe Dennis Bergkamp etc. Is goal scoring not a major part of a supporting striker's responsibility? Villa is Spain's all time leading striker despite his role as a SS to Torres. . . . your explanation for del piero's lacklustre international record holds no water, he should be doing better for a player of his calibre. PERIOD TBH. It's extremely difficult to be consistent at both club and national level, as a matter of fact, a significant proportion of the so called WCP players have often failed in that regard. . . .TH14, Messi,CR9,Ronnaldinho, Rooney, just to name a few. In conclusion, if we have to use the gap between club performance and national team form as indices for judging a player's quality, many world class players wouldn't merit that accolade. |

David Moyes- while this might come across as a controversial choice to some trophy inclined individuals, I feel this man has done an outstanding
job given the resources he has had to work with, he has exceptional eye for spotting talent/potentials coupled with a remarkable man management
skills. . he simply gets the best out of his players and he's more than capable of succeeding at a bigger club. |
