GEJ should know that he is a President of a nation and not a village combatant. He should concentrate effort in fighting national enemies and not witch-hunting his village man. GEJ should not remain helpless in solving national problems but boisterous in fighting village square battles. GEJ should tackle corruption holistically. |
nonen: I'm so dismayed by the kind of arguments seen here. Our problem is just the government, and not the citizen. The government and the citizen, who is in charge? The citizen is just a reflection of both the permissibility and efficiency of government. Our problems are systemic. We don't have structures that work. Check out civilized climes, they only have structures that work. You as a citizen knows what you'll get for any action you perform: positive or negative. When we set up these systems, we don't even need perfectionist to manage them. Systems work on their own. Everyone understands how they work too. See Obama's reform, is he blaming the washinton corruption on the citizens, NOPE! He blames the past leadership. How is is addressing them? Restructuring the system. How many times have you seen seemingly incorruptible people resign or sacked from his cabinet? There is corruption in America, but the government can't live with it. Does that happen here? Yes! Only when they start speaking the truth or pro-masses. The Government is our problem. Take Ghana and Rawlings as a case study. Do you thing Nigeria have better activist than Ghana? NOPE! It took the vision and power from the top to make Ghana a model in Africa.Word! Those who blame citizens for the woes of Nigeria do not know what leadership/government is. Leadership/government shows the citizen the way to go, not the other way round. |
You see what I have been suspecting? My suspicion is correct. Those planes are damn too old to be in the Nigerian airspace. When I saw the President weeping at the scene of incident, I was provoked by his action. Crying when things which he has the authority to right, to me, is Nollywood act. I expect the President to swing into ACTION, summon all concerned in the aviation industry and discipline them accordingly. Once again, I feel disappointed in the leadership of this country, with GEJ having the lion share of the blame. As the chief administrator of Nigeria, his role is to ensure that all ministries function effectively, failure which the minister of such ministry should be dealt with. Sadly, the ministers are more interested in the kickbacks from operators and are only looking to awarding fake and overbloated contracts. And sadly upon sadly too, GEJ has no gut to deal with any one but to ask Nigerians to pray for things to normalise. I am really disappointed with the leadership style of GEJ. The situation in Nigeria now calls for decisive actions, even if it means being AUTHORITARIAN. Nigeria is too blessed to be in this mess. GEJ, please do something. |
Thanks Kola. Have a terrific day. ![]() |

Do you blame Dana Air? Blame our leaders who have collected settlement and allowed biz to continue as usual. |
A leader has a LEGAL right to correct the ills in the society through the constitution. The people have ILLEGAL right to correct the wrongs in the society through protests, civil disobedience, strikes, terrorism, revolts and revolutions. That said, it is obvious the govt has failed that is why we are having all these nonsense in the country. |

Why are things so wrong in Naija? |
Our leaders who swore with the Bible and Quoran to lead us aright but failed to lead and resorted to looting of our resources are the cause of the rot in the society. Leaders show the way to go and the citizens follow. Citizens have become corrupt because that is the example shown to them by their leaders. A leader is vested with powers by the constitution to apply rule of law to bring erring followers to book. Followers have no such powers. |
Akiika: Every human, be it Nigerian, American, English e.t.c have the propensity to misbehave. It is the rule of law that straighten people up, do you guys think if there was no rule of law being implemented in these developed nations they'll be where they are today? Who should ensure the rule of law takes effect? --GOVERNMENT....as terrible as any nigerian may be, once you get to these countries, you adjust to obey their laws. You are in the spirit, brother! ![]() |
For those of you saying the citizens are the problem of this country, I put these questions to you: a. How many of you citizens swore with a Bible or Quoran to be good followers of the leaders? b. Did the leaders swear with the Bible or Quoran to uphold the constitution of the FRN and to lead according to the laws of the land, blah, blah, blah? c. Looking at the 2 questions above, which category has the higher responsibilty, citizens or leaders? No doubt, the man who took oath before God and man to carry out responsibilities and failed to do so, is the culprit. The leaders are the cause of our woes.Period. |
