The family of Nollywood actor and former BBN housemate, Patrick Fakoya aka Rico Swavey, has released his funeral arrangements.



According to the obituary released, Rico will be laid to rest in Lagos state on October 20.

2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi has condemned an alleged attack on supporters of the Labour Party in Lagos State.

It was widely speculated that a social media user, Obi Flag Boy, was allegedly attacked at Oshodi, Lagos, on Sunday.


It was also reported that some of the party’s supporters were arrested before the rally on Saturday.

Reacting on Twitter, Obi condemned the attack and intimidation of the party’s supporters.

Former Niger Delta militants leader, Asari Dokubo, has shared a video where he displayed AK-47 rifles against ‘Obidients’.

Obidients is name that describes ardent followers of the former governor of Anambra and Labour Party presidential candidate LP, Mr. Peter Obi.

Thousands of Commuters and travelers have been held at a standstill along the Abuja-Lokoja road in Kogi State.

According to DAILY POST, travelers in their numbers were held in the gridlock, which started immediately after Lokoja, stretching to a nearby town of Koton Karifi, after the Niger bridge.

The eldest son of Bauchi State State House of Assembly member representing Dass Constituency, Hon. Bala Ali, have been killed by unknown gunmen suspected of being kidnappers.

The Federal Government has announced a partial closure of the Marine Bridge in Apapa for another round of emergency rehabilitation.

Acting Federal Controller of Works in Lagos State, Forosola Oloyede, said the rehabilitation is being done in phases.

Oloyede told the News Agency of Nigeria that worn out expansion joints and bearings on the bridge would be replaced.

Dauda Ibrahim, 80-year-old man, has been apprehended for kidnapping and killing his fifteen-year-old daughter, Sherifah for ritual purpose.

The Nigerian Army in Lagos has confirmed that some its personnel caused the death of a policeman in the Ojo area.

The Acting Deputy Director 81 Division Public Relations, Major Olaniyi Osoba, issued a statement on Friday. issued a statement on Friday.

Osoba noted that the Army was in touch with the Lagos State Police Command to resolve the matter.

Osoba said the “regrettable” soldiers’ actions negate the division’s disposition and zero tolerance for misconduct.

Nigerians took to their different social media platform to mourn a military officer killed by bandits during an ambush in Abuja on Monday, July 25.

The deceased identified as Lt. Jauro Ibrahim Suleiman joined the military three years ago after completing his NYSC.

Okuta Elerinla Police Division in Ondo state police loss a police officer after some unknown gunmen invaded the police station.

According to DAILY POST the gunmen stormed the station and caught the officers on duty unaware on Monday around 1:00 am.

Abubakar Muhammed, a 23-year old Kuje prison escapee rearrested by the Adamawa State Police Command.

Abubakar, who is said to be facing terrorism charges and had been at the Kuje prison since 2017 before the recent breakout at the facility, was picked up in days of surveillance exercise along with 12 other suspects.

President Muhammadu Buhari’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, has said the payment of ransom by families of kidnapped victims is fuelling terrorism in Nigeria.

Shehu, revealed this on Channels TV on Monday, according to kidnapping would continue until Nigerians stop paying ransoms and allow the security agents to do their job.

The number of security personnel killed in Niger State by suspected bandits has increased following the discovery of more bodies in the bush.

Sani Kokki, the convener of Concerned Shiroro Youths of Niger State, explained that more bodies of the security operatives were discovered in the bush by the locals.

According to Sani Kokki, “On Saturday evening, the dead body of a mobile policeman was also discovered by a passerby.”

Recall that few days ago, DAILY POST had reported that a number of soldiers, policemen and civilians were killed after bandits attacked a mining site on Wednesday in Niger State.

He explained that the death toll of the security personnel killed by the bandits had risen to 48.

Joe Igbokwe, the Special Adviser for Drainage and Water Resources to Lagos State Governor, has charged South-East leaders to decide what they want ahead of the 2023 general elections.

The chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, said South-East leaders should choose between actualizing Biafra, the Presidency, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, and the Senate President.

In a Facebook post, Igbokwe said Southeast leaders should be definite about the positions they want.

Some Southeast members of the APC had demanded the positions of the SGF and Senate President if the party’s presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu wins in 2023.

Prior to the presidential primary elections of APC and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Igbo leaders had clamoured for Southeast presidency.
