No fewer than three persons have been feared dead in a fresh attack at the ongoing communal crisis between Uko-nteghe Uda and Uko Akpan Enwang communities in Mbo Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State. Report says of the three, one of them was beheaded.

Law graduates from the Houdegbe North American University, Cotonou, Benin Republic, has been banned by the Council of Legal Education (CLE), from Nigerian Law School admission.

Rouqayyah Ibrahim, who is the ninth prosecution witness (PW9), continued her testimony against Abdulrasheed Maina before Justice Okong Abang of the Federal High Court, Abuja, on Tuesday.

Ibrahim is a detective with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

18-year-old girl identified as Ujunwa Offiah, has been arrested by Lagos state police command for conspiring with her boyfriend she met two months ago a resident of Coker area of Lagos State, to fake her kidnap and demand N30 million from her family.



The police also arrested the boyfriend’s other girlfriend identified as Precious Chukwu, 22, whose phone was reportedly used to negotiate with offiah’s family.





The suspects were arrested by operatives attached to the State Criminal Investigation Department, CID of the command.



While the boyfriend identified as, Ifesinachi Blessed, 26, who is a driver with one of the popular cab-hailing services, is said to be at large, it was gathered that he pretended to be a kidnapper and demanded for ransom of N30 million from Offiah’s family.




The state Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, while parading the suspects at the command headquarters on Monday December 7, said;

“This is a case of conspiracy and staged kidnapping, and the man at the centre of this case, who happens to be a Uber driver, is still at large. We are going after him because he conspired with one of these two ladies, Offiah, who faked her kidnap.

“He cleverly used the phone of another girlfriend, Precious (Chukwu), to contact Offiah’s family, informing them that their daughter had been kidnapped.



“He requested N30m from Offiah’s family to get her freed and during negotiations, which involved the police, they settled for N700,000. While the money was being dropped, we took action and in the process arrested Offiah and Precious.”



Speaking to newsmen, Offiah said she joked about the kidnap but was surprised that Ifesinachi took it seriously.

A woman who refused to put out the bins for ten years resorted to wearing nappies after 27 tonnes of rubbish built up inside her home – stopping her from getting into the bathroom.

The hoarder identified as, Sylvie, from York, who is in her 60s, began using incontinence pads and nappies after the accumulating waste left her surrounded by five to six feet of rubbish in all her bedrooms as well as down the stairs, along the hall and in the kitchen.

The home-owner, who had refused to let anyone inside her house for almost 20 years, said the rubbish also affected her mental wellbeing and put her physical health at risk.



She said: ‘I felt very embarrassed, it had got so bad. But I couldn’t see it from



‘The rooms were really bad from floor-to-ceiling you couldn’t get into the house really.

‘I slept on top of the rubbish, I only had use of the bathroom if I clambered over the rubbish, and I had no kitchen as I couldn’t get to it.

‘I didn’t have a sink, I couldn’t get to my fridge or my freezer. I just used to sit on the doorstep during the day.’



Sylvie, who was living in a small space at the top of the stairs, was unable to access her fridge and freezer and kept food in the hall and stairs, eating it without storing it properly.



Due to the accumulating waste, piles of hoarded items also filled the two downstairs living rooms.



Concerned neighbours, who noticed Sylvie never put her bin out for collection and would sit on her front doorstep for hours, wanted to help.

A shocking video making round online captures the moment a 15-year-old boy, driving a car used in a gangland murder pulled over to allow his 19-year-old accomplice to blast a rival gang member, 19, with a pump-action shotgun.

The gunman and the driver, who cannot be named for legal reasons, were convicted of the gangland murder of Abdul Xasan in a drive-by shooting in Coventry on March 13.


Birmingham Crown Court heard the 15-year-old was driving a stolen VW Golf Type R. Both suspects were wearing court-ordered RBankle tags at the time of the murder which allowed investigating officers to link them to the crime scene.



The pair set fire to the stolen car after the murder in order to destroy forensic evidence linking them to the murder.

They were found guilty of the murder following a four-week trial and will be sentenced on December 22.



The court heard the two killers were members of the C2 gang in Coventry, while the victim was connected to a rival gang, RB7. The victim had been arrested a few days before his death on suspicion of possessing an imitation firearm.



Detective Chief Inspector Scott Griffiths of West Midlands Police Homicide Unit led the investigation.

He said: ‘There had been ongoing tensions between the two groups, including firearms discharges, in the lead up to the murder.



‘What happened was outrageous: a shotgun fired several times in a public street in the middle of the afternoon. It happened not far from a nursery. Other people not connected to either gang could easily have been injured.

‘It’s a really tragic case and a stark reminder of the consequences of getting drawn into gangs. One young life has been lost and the lives of two others, including a young child, have been utterly ruined.

‘We can help people who want to turn their backs on gang culture. Along with our partners including charities and support groups, we can help young people make better choices.

‘But for those who insist of affiliating themselves to violent gangs there is a very strong possibility they are going to be seriously injured, killed or spend much of their life locked up in jail.’

Mrs Zainab Ahmed, the Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning has reassured Nigerians that the current recession, which the Nigerian economy recently slid into, will be short-lived.

Mainland Hospital Management in Lagos, on Sunday, November 22, 2020 said it had been mandated by the state Ministry of Health; not to release bodies of people who died during #EndSARS protests.
