The heartbreaking story of a girl physically deformed because of her mother’s attempts to abort her has been told by her father.

The girl by name Perpetual has been unable to walk since birth because her mother tried to abort her before her birth date was due.

Mr Victor Sarbah, father of Perpetual, in an interview with Emefa Adeti on the Prime Morning show recalled the woeful story.

According to Mr. Victor his ex-wife successfully aborted an earlier pregnancy with the help of a friend of hers he had advised her against.

He went further to reveal that Perpetual’s mother lied to him about having a miscarriage from falling down when she actually took a drug to abort it.

“When she was pregnant with Perpetual too, she took the drug again but it didn’t work this time around. So that’s how Perpetual has ended up like this; she was trying to abort her. The same friend ended up laughing at her for having a child who walks like a frog,” he recounted.

The woman who sells waakye for a living divorced her husband and left him with sole custody of their physically impaired daughter.

”She took off with our first and third children leaving me with Perpetual and one boy. I have been Perpetual’s sole guardian for 2 years now”, Victor narrated.

A Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) Oyo/Osun command official yet to be identified has allegedly shot a member of the proscribed National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in Oyo State.

Azikoro village in the Yenagoa Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, was on Wednesday invaded by gunmen and killed four persons, including a pregnant woman and her husband.

The gunmen were said to have also attacked a church, set some buildings ablaze and vandalised some vehicles.

A resident of the community, who is also a medical doctor, said, “The armed boys also came into my compound and destroyed my car.”

Rivers state Governor, Nyesom Wike has wondered why President Muhammadu Buhari is supporting the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Osagie Ize-Iyamu for the forthcoming election.

Bama, a town in Borno state was struck with a tragedy as a soldier opened fire on his superior for refusing him a pass to visit his family, TheCable reports.

According to the report, the soldier had approached his superior citing that he needs to visit his family over an urgent issue.

Former governor of Akwa Ibom state, Sen Godswill Akpabio, the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, today July 20, revealed that most of the contracts in the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) are given to members of the National Assembly. Acting Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Kemebradikumo Pondei fainted during his appearance before the House of Representatives Committee probing the commission.

Pondei had slumped while being grilled by members of the committee led by Thomas Ereyitomi over alleged financial mismanagement at the NDDC.

It was noticed that the Acting NDDC boss fainted while one of the committee members was talking. This led to the disruption of the hearing as efforts were made to revive him.

Pondei’s collaps led to a 30-minute adjournment of the session.

Recall that Pondei last week staged a walkout on the committee, stating that the former head of the panel, Mr. Ojo is a man of interest in the ongoing investigation.


The committee again on Friday last week summoned both Prof. Pondei and Sen. Godswill Akpabio, the Minister for Niger Delta Affairs, following revelations by the former Acting Managing Director of the Commission, Joy Nunieh.

Alleged Nigerian internet fraudster, Olalekan Ponle a.k.a Woodberry, currently held in the United States alongside his best friend, Abass a.k.a Hushpuppi, for alleged multi-million dollar fraud has hired the services of a top rated Chicago lawyer, Michael Nash, to defend him in court.

Troops of Operation LAFIYA DOLE of the Air Task Force (ATF) have destroyed a Boko Haram Terrorists’ meeting venue at Mainyakare on the fringes of the Sambisa Forest in Borno State as reported by the Defence Headquarters.

Major General John Enenche, the Coordinator, Defence Media Operations, in a statement on Friday, also disclosed that several Boko Haram fighters were neutralized in the airstrike.

According to Enenche, the operation was executed on Thursday, following a series of Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions.





“The Air Task Force (ATF) of Operation LAFIYA DOLE has obliterated a Boko Haram Terrorists’ (BHTs’) meeting venue, along with other structures, and neutralized several of their fighters at Mainyakare in Sambisa Forest in Borno State.


“The air interdiction mission was executed on July 2, 2020, to mark the launch of subsidiary Operation LONG REACH II, after a series of Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions which established that a prominent building in the middle of the settlement was being used as a meeting venue, where the terrorists plan and launch attacks as well as house some of their fighters.”

Abuja based Chinese couple have been arrested for allegedly locking up their Nigerians employees in their apartment for the past four months.

Eight domestic workers were rescued by the personnel of the Utako Divisional Police Station on Tuesday following a tip-off by a resident, who reported the incident to the Human Rights radio station.

The police raided the residence of the Chinese in the Jabi area of Abuja and took the unidentified couple and their domestic employees to the station.

In footage provided by the International Centre for Investigative Reporting, the victims said they had been locked up in the apartment since February.

A lady, who did not give her name, said the domestic workers were not allowed to move out of the building and that the couple refused to allow her to go for treatment when she took ill.



She stated, “When I was seriously sick, I asked these people (Chinese employers) to open the gate for me, but they refused until I became very angry before they opened the door. I know my life may be at risk but I don’t mind, let the world know what is happening.
