Department of Correctional Services South Africa has reacted to the viral video that captures the moment a prison official got intimate with an inmate.

South Africa Department of Correctional Services said that it is embarassed with viral videos of a female warder who was caught having s*x with an inmate in one of the offices at the prison in KwaZulu-Natal.



The video which has gone viral on social media showed the female warder passionately kissing the inmate in what looks like an office inside the prison before they got half naked and also got into the act.



Spokesperson for the department, Singabakho Nxumalo who confirmed the authenticity of the video said the flustering scenes of alleged sexual activity between an official and an inmate at the Ncome Correctional Centrehas left the agency appalled, embarrassed and gutted.



He said in a statement;

“A video with flustering scenes of alleged sexual activity between an official and an inmate at the Ncome Correctional Centre, KwaZulu-Natal Region, has left the Department of Correctional Services appalled, embarrassed and gutted.

“Sexual activities between inmates and correctional officials are shameful incidents that can never be ascribed to what is expected of our officials.



“Correctional officials are expected to abide by a code of conduct, and despicable acts of sexual activities with inmates shall never be tolerated.”



Nxumalo further revealed that the female warder involved has been identified and she will be subjected to a disciplinary process with immediate effect.



He added;

“Disciplinary measures have also been instituted against the inmate. Despicable acts of sexual activities with inmates shall never be tolerated.”



In January, the department of correctional services said it was installing body scanners at identified correctional facilities within six management areas in an effort to clamp down on the smuggling of contraband into prisons.



Justice and Correctional Services Minister Ronald Lamola said the body scanners were introduced after an official was caught at St Albans Correctional Centre in the Eastern Cape trying to smuggle contraband.

The National Youths Service Corps, NYSC, has released the list of eight foreign universities banned from participating in the 2021 Batch A orientation course.

Most of the banned universities are in Benin Republic and said to be awarding degrees to students a few months after matriculation.

Although the NYSC management did not provide enough reasons for its decision, its circular (dated Friday, March 5 2021) to state/FCT coordinators, informed all D&R and foreign-trained verification officers in states to take note of the under listed schools.

Aisha Abdullahi Gaide, have been arrested by the Bauchi State Police Command for child molestation and attempted homicide.

No fewer than 300 female students of Government Secondary School, Jangebe in the Talata-Mafara Local Government Area of Zamfara state have been abducted by suspected armed bandits.

Orlu council area of Imo State residents have reportedly deserted their homes as the military continues a search for the camps of the Eastern Security Network (ESN).

Bello Matawalle the governor of Zamfara state, said he advised his Niger counterpart, Abubakar Bello, to negotiate with bandits.

Four persons so far have been confirmed dead in a fresh herdsmen attack on Sunday evening at Agbon-Ojodu, Yewa North Local Government area of Ogun State.

On Friday, herdsmen were said to have attacked Ebute Igbooro, killing four and setting properties on fire.

This was after about six persons were hacked to death and some thrown into a river in Owode Ketu on Thursday.

Borno State former governor, Kashim Shettima, has defended his last year motion at the Senate for the removal of the former service chiefs.

A man identified as Effiong Joseph who was a staff of the University of Uyo, Akwa Ibom state, has been electrocuted.



According to report the incident happened on Thursday afternoon, January 28, while the deceased and his colleague, one Michael Udosen, were trying to reconnect an armored cable that had earlier been vandalised near the language laboratory of the institution’s town campus.



Effiong died on the spot while Udosen is still unconscious after being rushed to the University Teaching hospital for treatment.
