Sports › Re: Who Are The Top 3 Goalkeepers Of This Generation? by janga02(m): 12:52pm On Aug 23, 2025 |
obembet: We’ve witnessed some legendary names between the sticks over the past decade. All in their prime, who makes your Top 3 Goalkeepers list?
1. Manuel Neuer
The benchmark of modern goalkeeping. World Cup winner (2014), Champions League winner, and the original sweeper-keeper.
2. Thibaut Courtois
Monster between the posts. Champions League 2022 final performance alone showed why he’s one of the greatest shot-stoppers ever.
3. Alisson Becker
Elite balance of shot-stopping, distribution, and leadership. Crucial for Liverpool’s Champions League and Premier League triumphs.
4. Marc-André ter Stegen
Brilliant reflexes, great passing ability, and consistency at Barcelona.
5. Ederson
Possibly the best distributor of the ball among all goalkeepers. Changed the way City build from the back.
6. David De Gea
In his prime (2015–2018), he was nearly unbeatable, saving Manchester United countless times.
7. Gianluigi Donnarumma
Still young, but his Euro 2020 heroics showed his peak potential.
8. Emiliano Martínez
Clutch performer, especially in penalty shootouts (Copa América & World Cup). Not as consistent overall as the top names.
9. Édouard Mendy
Short but brilliant peak (Champions League 2021 run with Chelsea). Didn’t maintain top form long enough compared to the rest.
Source: Obembe Tosin From this list: 1.Neur 2. Courtois 3.Degea But respect to all these big guys during their prime: Oliver Khan Gigi Buffon Edwin Vandercer Peter cech. |

This is an embarrassment to Nigerians! How could you make an announcement before a manager signs a contract?
But I don't blame them because nobody is going to be held responsible for this mess.
I don't understand why everybody tends to mess up once they get to sit of government.

Botragelad: You lot know people Carry around power banks even in countries with decent electricity, right?
Imagine you're in a situation where you're flat out all day with no electrical socket to plug in your phone or no time for that, or you need to be on your phone because it's crucial, traveling long distance, and there's no where to plug in. what do you do? Lol
People don't stay put all day, some people are always on the go and use their phone a lot. I don't get the point of this post. So many daft comments. It's like saying why do hospitals use solar or natural gas when there's electricity, well mate anything can go wrong and it's better to be prepared. More like a plan B, that's what power bank is for.
It's called power bank for a reason and don't give me that rubbish that this guy has no proper electricity at home. The fact still remains that he is not doing well in his current job. |

Westman001: Seriously, Poch na rubbish Manager. The use of players, arrangements and substitution is totally out of sense and tact.
Forget that most of these players are inexperienced, a good and better coach would tactically know how to build the confidence of these players.
If come to realize now that Poch is a wrong one for Chelsea In addendum to that, I have not really see any of his tactical impart on this players. They are just playing football as if its a chess game. No initiative on the players. You can see that nkunku is different because of his experience. Porch needs to do better than this. I expect more from him. |

Thank you so much @ytdivine.
You refresh my memory Every time I come to Nairaland, this is my go to thread.
Alot of people will learn from this and many would stumble on it in the future and you would realize that you have already made so many people fall in love with automation.
Guys, automation is in every part of our life e.g : building automation, industrial automation etc. If you are able to understand the basics and build on it, you will never work in a day because you are doing what you love.
Automation engineers are not cheap if you know your onions.
Goodluck to everyone. |

ytdivine: Moving forward, let's explain what happened in this water supply scenario In the case of pumping water direct to the tank without a buffer tank, note the following 1. Fluctuations in the water supply due to pump operation is transmitted to each flat ( No constant flow) 2. There is no pool of water created 3. Water distribution is not uniform 4. The moment the pump stops, the flow stops Looking at the second scenario, the following is obtainable 1. Because there is overhead reserve, there is no fluctuations in the water flow 2. A big pool of water is created 3. The distribution is uniform 4. Continuous water flow even when the pump stops until the whole stored water is discharged.
Please any objections to these assertions? Well done boss, Thank you for this mentorship class, I hope students and young grad will take advantage of this class seriously because, what he is trying to dish out to you free of charge here, somebody spent #800,000 to 1 million to get this from an institute. I am an electrical engineer by the way and I know what it's like to be a resource person in a department. Hopefully, I would be able to contribute to this as the class progress. Jazzman01: in their prime, Buffon was the best. so i will start him and bench vandersar. cech can be sold. Cech enjoyed a good deal of defensive cover while at chelsea and that has always been the case at chelsea. they have the best defensive record over the years so their goal keepers are not usually tested to the fullest & we cannot say how good they are. we all saw how cech was badly exposed when he joined arsenal. Just a little input, do you know the people that cover for buffon? fabio canavaro....... |

michlins: [quote author=mrfortunate1 post=107345078]The vice president is the owner of the building. Are u ok now, isn't that what u want to hear? If not madness that is worrying you, it was clearly stated in the post that the man ( Femi Osibona) is the owner but your hateful and bigotry mind is still looking for some imaginary owner. the reason the owner needs to be made available is for him to answer to his manslaughter charges.
This collapse is as a result of recklessness and use of cheap materials below standards. But most of you don't want to hear it. You don't want the name of your favorites to be mentioned.
One thing I know about the Nigeria masses is that once their own person or someone they like is benefiting from irregularities and corruptions, they will fight tooth and nail to protect him or her.
With news about the building going past the recommended heights, there's no way the owner won't be aware of such infractions Learn how to conduct yourself in public space, you don't need insult people before you pass meaningful statement if you don't know. With that being said, Do you have a valid evidence to backup your statements here or its based on hear say? I will advise you to be careful, because it may be a faceless forum but you can be trace to face the consequence of your unguarded utterances. Have a nice day. |

Komu1048: That Lukaku transfer got me off track, can’t believe Chelsea is trying to get that dude for a whooping £98m. It's crazy, I've watch many of his matches even in the so called inter and his cost is way above his game/contribution. This is a guy that has failed twice in epl top clubs, I think Tuchel is getting it wrong this time. You may be right, i feel the club should have gone for a young potent striker instead of lukaku. |
