Macron condemns Israeli strike on UN site in southern Lebanon We've just seen an update from French President Emmanuel Macron, who has condemned an Israeli strike that hit a United Nations (UN) site in Lebanon earlier today. As a reminder, two Ghanaian soldiers serving with the UN's peacekeeping mission in southern Lebanon were critically injured following the strike, according to Ghana Armed Forces. "While the United Nations Force in Lebanon plays a key stabilization role in southern Lebanon, I strongly condemn the unacceptable attack that struck members of its contingent today," says Macron. After speaking with Syrian President Ahmad Al-Charaa and Lebanese President Joseph Aoun, he also reiterates the need to respect the "sovereignty and territorial integrity" of both nations. Breaking! Ghana’s UNIFIL battalion in Lebanon hit with missiles, wounding 2 Missiles have struck the Ghanaian headquarters of its United Nations peacekeeping battalion in southern Lebanon, Ghana’s armed forces say. Two soldiers were critically injured in the attacks that hit around 5:45 p.m. local time (14:45 GMT), the army said in a statement. The officers’ mess hall at the facility was also burned down “completely” in the attacks. Ghana’s government has formally protested the incident at the UN headquarters in New York.
