TravelRe: Living In The USA - Life Of An Immigrant Part 1 by Jannyfranc: 9:19pm On Nov 07, 2023
Thanks so much,I appreciate.
abike12:
you're right. budget is a big consideration especially initially. keep in mind that you don't have to remain where you start out. you can always relocate based on work, preferences, etc
weather and cost of living - houston and dallas (summers are hot but winters are relatively mild). running away from hurricane eliminates houston but there's the probability that you can live in houston for a few years and relocate without having a major hurricane. america is a violent country with lots of mentally unstable and volatile armed people (I have to be blunt here) so I don't have any recommendation on less violent city other than stay prayed up and be careful. houston is very diverse, not sure how that compares to north carolina but just something to keep in mind. good luck.

TravelRe: Living In The USA - Life Of An Immigrant Part 1 by Jannyfranc: 3:14am On Nov 06, 2023
Thanks for your response,i am coming with my spouse, plus i intend to work as a lecturer. Any idea about North carolina, the cities you mentined, have high cost of living .please can you suggest another ,am looking at weather, cost of living , less violent and where there is no natural disaster,e.g Hurricane, fire etc
abike12:
consider staying away from the south... I know homes are cheaper etc but wanting non violence state and being a lecturer, you probably want to live in a more enlightened environment. are you coming with a spouse and do they plan to work? If I had to choose again I would move to a city in colorado or california. Seattle is another good choice.

Thanks so much
optimusprime2:
Look, most highbrow parts of the US are safe, its not about the State.

That same Richmond you stated when compared to other cities like Roanoke & Portsmouth in Virginia happens to be the more dangerous city.

I consider the poverty index of the city to determine the crime rate- in this case I wiĺ use crime rate as the measure of safety, the higher the poverty index the higher the crime rate.

So if you want lower crime rate, go to the highbrow parts of every state.

This theory does not generally apply in New York, due to population density per square area.

FamilyRe: My To Be In-laws Are Frustrating Me by Jannyfranc: 3:40am On Jul 26, 2023
Be sure your inlaw is not using you to send their daughter abroad, once she is there, her story will change. If your girl is on the same page with you ,get her pregnant ,then do court wedding with her, after that,is the mother that will beg you to come and marry her.

CelebritiesRe: "Ifeanyi Adeleke Was A Girl" - Kemi Olunloyo by Jannyfranc: 9:27am On Jun 30, 2023
Is true ,i have a girl friendwith the name.Is unisex
Sanguine:
Ifeanyi is a unisex name.

MODIFIED.

Wow! I didn't think this statement I made would generate this much reactions though. 🙂

Majority Igbo names are actually unisex (I believe that applies to other tribes too), except very few that are gender specific like Nneoma, Opkara, Nnamdi, Ada, Eze, etcetera.

Now, because alot of people are used to a particular gender bearing certain names, so they think or conclude that the other gender cannot bear that name.

Ngozi for instance, which means "blessing", is a unisex name, even though the female gender more often than not bears that name. So it would sound somewhat odd when you see a guy bearing "Ngozi".

A name is in it's meaning.

Seunn11:
Good day everyone.

I sent out my I140 with NIW (EB2 Visa) application via DHL in December.

Could you kind people put me through on how this works.

TravelRe: USA Employment-based Immigration (EB-1,EB-2,EB-3 Visa) by Jannyfranc: 7:42am On Jun 10, 2023
No need for proof of fund,i have seen a family of 7
Adidee:
Hello,

Congrats on your approval.
1. You do not need proof of funds for NIW.
What you need for the next stage is $345 for each of your family member.

2. I do not think size of family affects your application, the age of your children however does. ( children above 21 won’t be eligible ). It is advisable you file for all your family members now, you wouldn’t want to go through another process of filing for an additional family member.

Pls send a message

TravelRe: If You are Doing Well In Nigeria, You Have No Business Relocating Abroad by Jannyfranc: 2:45am On Jun 07, 2023
Allow people to make thier choice, wait till you are kinapped or loose your 8 months salary to strike or the effect of loans borrowed by past regieme hit your account,or you watch someone close to you die without doctor knowing d sickness ,let alone curing it.The decision is not for fun but to give your children a better hope.
Abi1985:
If you have business thriving in Nigeria, please don't japa. If you are rich, please don't japa. The only exception is to further your education or you have businesses oversea that you are managing or you planning to born your children overseas for citizenship purpose. Please Just come and visit. Enjoy your holiday and come back to Nigeria. I was reading a post on Instagram on someone in Nigeria with thriving business making some serious money and she was thinking of relocating to Canada. Please do yourself a favor and stay home.
Escaping from political enemies or enemies or insecurity doesn't count.
