Presently watching Squid Games and as a businessman, I can't help but notice how worthless South Korean currency is judging by how they are throwing the words "million won" "N10,000" "billon won" and the likes about.



Still in episode 2, so can't give any definitive ratings yet.

You not alone, I had to rewatch it again this morning and I was angrily analysing the value, I said to myself, and some people will be claiming millionaire and billionaires. He bought a 12000won fish but paid 10000won, that fish now in Nigeria is like 1000 or 1500 as at when the movie was made. He won 4.5 million won maybe like 450k naira and knew he was made. Someone had billions in debt and didn't look it. But I still love Korea over any country, maybe their movies sold them on a platter of gold. The quality is what drives me crazy. The only thing I hate about their culture is the family inheritance of business and Love life

I am sorry I am hard to please then, never been a normal everybody thing. My thought though and I think I should enjoy the privilege of sharing it too. Maybe I expected more coming from someone learning entertainment biz and script writing.

It's a great movie no doubt, but too me I expected more. Would be watching it again maybe when I finish watching sex education and Ted lasso for the third time.

I love to enjoy my movies so I don't watch or read spoilers, just the imbd rating and rankings.

you have to be of higher understanding to understand squid game and the message it's trying to pass out! read up on capitalism, it's a game where people who were rich and poor can compete irregardless of class and compete and be judged fairly

Baba with higher understanding, capitalism theme indeed, what's unique, special about it. I have seen so many movies in such writing style and message, I haven't even watched Alice the ... It's so predictable, we all know the end, just want them to fill the in betweens to satisfy our curiosity. I have watched some Korean movies, and almost all blew my mind away. Mention a quotable quote, plot twist or suspenseful scene that took you off your chair except the ugly incident of EPs 6. Twas the old man in 001 that gave me some reason to continue cuz I watch movies to learn.

It's a good movie worth hyping but don't let us exaggerate

Spoiler alert, all the games were drawn on their dorm walls, let me stop here before they start hanging me

Squid game is good but super hyped, predictable, poor script but better acting. They introduce new character and kill them when you love them. The script need some suspense and plot twist that won't kill our loved character. I still love sex education, starting to love Ted lasson, super classic, movies that teach sense. Squid no dey teach anything except the normal normal. I need better script and theme abeg, that's what Korean films are known for. I am only watching to see who finally wins and that we all know.

Really poor representation of Nigerian accent. Over 30minutes of screentime in Lagos and no utterance of pidgin?

Especially Eric's mom who is a Yoruba, no pigin, Eric has a relatable accent though. I love the way he said "nonsense" when Otis broke done at the vending machine. Those Nigeria scenes where not necessary but they did pass the message subtly. A message it will take a decade before it can sink in our culture. I think the big music labels just wanted to sell afrobeat more to the international community, cuz that was deliberate.
