You have done the right thing.

You experience; though painful, is more of a blessing to prospective tenants reading this and a blessing to you as well. One day, they will detect and the stupid greedy tenant that thinks electricity falls like rain will pay both the outstanding debts and the estimated consumption ever since the meter was installed.

The fact that someone could bypass for months and the power providers did not detect is a sign of failure. Your report alone should have given birth to investigations into history of energy purchase on that meter; this I'm sure must affect the landlord somehow.

My suggestions;

1. Propose sharing of the debt to your landlord and if he sees no sense in it,

2. (Subtly) threaten the landlord with formal report of bypassing meter on his property. Let him know the likely consequences.

3. If he will return your money, you can move out.

4. Take it as your debt, approach your energy supplier to discuss payment pattern; I think there is a way they spread it over a period of time.

5. Run on generator until house rent expires. But, remember they will bypass again to trap another unsuspecting tenants.

Well, if you end up paying the debt, you have lost nothing. Those people calling your action stupid are the almighty wise Nigerians that complain about everything, but find it difficult to do anything the right way. Check them, they always lack.

Reading comments. Nigerians are not ready to pay for power. It's very sad the the disco cannot even investigate that an account with N118k debt did not make payment for a long time yet was using light.

They’re free to do that! But what this means is that mothers applying for citizenship for their new born babies will have to show their own immigration status in the United states and if it’s a b1/b2 visa! No citizenship for the child!

This is not a good news Nigerians!!

No. This is just your imagination. They cant do that. As long as the baby was born there He/ she will receive citizenship except born to a diplomat. If they could do that they wont stop issuing b1b2 for birthing

He posted the vin up there for people who are interested,I don't think he will be stupid to have post the vin without him doing a vin check. He even posted the picture of the instrument cluster showing the mileage. He was not trying to hide anything in my own opinion. Most times we just need to apply common sense in life.

How do you explain 100k mileage roll back.

175000- 75000= 100000.

Explain that.

The mileage now is just 75k as against action website of 175k
Autos / Re: Sold Two Weeks Registered Rav4 2009 Sportz Sold LEGALWEALTH STILL UP FOR SALE by jarkbauer: 10:14pm On Dec 09, 2019
mileage was 175k but now it is 75k, with frame damage. it was sold cheap at just $2400 dollars.

Gazzuzz, I'm trying to look for a post of yours where you explained the Kazeem way of differentiating a failing steering pump from the rack.

I recall it has to do with turning the steering at a particular RPM. Unfortunately, that's all I remember.

Can you please help with the post or drop the explanation again.

He said
If you rev high and it is soft. steering pump
if you rev high and it is still hard steering rack

GAZZUZZ:

power steering is a very simple setup.

Power steering pump
Pressure pipe
Steering rack.

It is as simple as that.

Before diagnosing system ensure the screen filter inside the reservoir is clean and free of debris. Wash if necessary.

Also ensure there are no leaks any where in the system .

Start vehicle

Rev engine to 2000rpm

Hold engine at 2000rpm

Turn the steering while static

If soft replace pump.

If hard replace rack.

Crude method but works 9/10 times.

Politics / Re: Plateau: Gov Lalong Proposes N71 Billion For 2020 by jarkbauer: 8:41am On Nov 27, 2019
nairapark:
Plateau state governor Simon Lalong has submitted a budget estimate of N71.5 billion to the state house of assembly as the budget for the 2020 fiscal year with a promise to commence payment of new minimum wage from next year.

The 2020 budget estimate a capital expenditure of N74.4 billion representing 43% of the total budget while the remaining 57% goes for recurrent expenditure.

Of the entire sum, the water and energy sector got the lion share of about N16 billion followed by works sector with about N15 billion.

Lalong who tagged the 2020 budget estimate as “Budget of Rescue and Infrastructural consolidation” said, Our approach to sustainable governance policy implementation and staff welfare will continue to be given priority consideration.

“For example, the issue of the New National Minimum Wage has recently been in the front-burner. Government appreciates the Organised Labour and Civil Servants as partners in progress. We see the yearnings or demands for increase in the minimum wage as a genuine source for motivation, improved productivity and general improvement in the living conditions of our Civil Servants and their families.

“I have accordingly approved the constitution of government committee to negotiate with the organised labour with a view to coming out with modalities for implementation.

“We share in the challenges faced by all and sundry in the light of some market forces that could defeat the good intention behind salary increase. With the Bill now passed into Law at the National Level and accented to by Mr. President, we are also fully committed to its implementation and have therefore made provisions in the coming fiscal year to address the issues” he said.
