By doing me this favor, I'm now in a position of going to hell, how is that a favor.
The choice is yours. If you wish to go hell, it is a choice you chose to make. Like I said earlier, you have freewill to choose where you want to go. And nobody will stop you. But don't blame God for the choices you made when you go to hell.

Religious logic baffles me especially Christianity. So, God knows everything, he knows the end from the beginning and everything in between but decided to create humans in his image knowing fully that they would sin. They succeed...He then was like... Oh damn.. Okay... Lemme send myself to this people so that they'll kill me as a sacrifice to myself in order to cleanse them from the problem that i created in the first place. Oh oh oh!! And don't let us forget even though I know everything, i still give you free will.
In addition, if that god knew of the amount of confusion he/she would cause his/her creation, why not just let us know who or what you are. Can he/she/it do it? I don't know but is he/she/it doing it? Nope, in my opinion as he has decided to show himself/herself or itself through books written by people who knew like about the world and wrote books detailing how the entire world population was wiped out by a flood where animals from the polar ice made it to a wooden boat. And oh, the book also details how to own people as property especially if they are not your kind of people.
By god, even within a certain religion, two people from the same denomination probably don't even see god as the same but to talk of different denominations...
Your ravings will not change God from who He is neither will it give sense to the confusion you are experiencing

And who asked God to give me freewill?
God gave you freewill so you can make your own decisions regarding if you would love Him or hate Him. If there was no freewill, this universe would not be morally correct

let me re ask you the question, who created wickedness, who created disobedience, who created rape, who created poverty, can anything exist without a God creating it?
Your question is wrong logically because your are trying to fit a description into a wrong category. For example : what is the taste of blue? This question is logically wrong because they are two separate none, -connected ideas. But to humor you, I will answer like this :

Those things do not exist with God ; they are choices man makes based on the freewill given to him by God. An
individual, who does thing consciously is independent from God's acts

Since your pretending not to understand the gravity of this message of supposed all powerful entity to the extent of comparing him to schoolteachers and parents then I'd humour you. Let's say my I doubt what my schoolteacher taught me I can take my time to examine what he taught me and find out if it's true or false. If I doubt my supposed father is my real father I can become a geneticist and carry out a DNA test to confirm or refute my suspicions. Notice how these things can still be researched on? so tell me, now that I doubt your imaginary friend is real, what happens next? How can I find out if he's truly real or imaginary? now what you're telling me is that I should take the words of people who say he's real and their experiences then ignore conflicting ones
If indeed you seek the truth and you want answers, then go on a quest to know if God is real and existing. Do not stay here deceiving yourself

Good!

Yes but not the most important of all information

These points of yours aren't "wise" in any way. You shouldn't compare DNA test figuring out the father of a baby with the message of a supposed all powerful entity because the message from this entity contains what would happen to us after we die. I could live all my life believing the person I call dad is really my dad whereas he isn't but accepting or rejecting him as my dad has next to nothing to do with how I would chose live my life or what would happen to me after I die.
The message from this supposed powerful entity is said by his believers to be the most important message of all and you're supposed to take the words and experiences of other man for it?
You believe the words other men; you believed your school teacher, and even our father who told you you were his son. All these you do without questioning because you took them by faith. So what is so hard in believing when a person tells you there is a God...? undecided

African/Nigerian atheists are just a set of people who at a point in their lives asked God for a miracle but felt they never got one.. A lot of my friends who became Atheists would claim God doesn't exist, but still goes to a herbalist who gives them magical soaps to make wealth, forgetting the herbalist called the name of a God as well... If men could tell what chemical reaction occurred for water to be made, I think the same man should be able to tell what chemical reaction occurred for the creation of the earth and every beautiful thing in it. What reaction could occur for the creation of a man? If chemical reaction could make a flesh, did it also make the organs? What chemical reaction occurred to create a heart and give it its function? If truly a chemical reaction brought about the creation of a man, the same should be able to create machines on its own.. If we were made through the reaction between different chemicals/elements, then we should be tagged "a mistake".. If there's a brain behind the creations of a man, then there's got to be a being behind the creation of a man's brain... Sometimes, I look at the world and all the beauties in it, I ask myself "could all these be as a result of a mistake?"..
These are the same questions I ask myself when talking to atheists. Sometimes they even steal from God without even acknowledging Him. Can you imagine? undecided

All this indoctrinated children fed with washed up religious ideologies as toddlers who can't decipher reality from fantasy. Now, as adults, they have still not grown up and realised that religion is man made and that the Religious Gods are mere mental constructs created from repetitive childish stories.

An African man living in Nigeria thinks a religious god of a tribe in Asia is the saviour of mankind. And you wonder why your politicians and pastors rate you very low and see you as fools to be milked and humiliated as they please.

Grow up!

A simple fact finding mission deep within your mind and the internet this days should be enough to tell you how the religious texts you hold dear is written. Would your religious indoctrination allow you?

Well, I don't know. But, this simple process has allowed a lot of people see the scam religion is. My understanding is despite realising that religion is a lie, fear of being ostracized keeps people bound. The only thing religion uses to keep it's adherents is fear. Fear of hell, fear of demons, fear of evil spirits, fear of their religious god, and bla bla bla. Just fear.

You will know a different kind of peace the day you finally realise that religious gods, demons and witches are as real as Santa Claus.
[/s] Without God there would be no atheist. wink

That's the problem with religion.

You just claimed I can't conclude there is no god but you just concluded there is a god without any logical explanation.
You always claim the universe is too complex not to have a creator(god) but won't accept that if god is all complex-complete being as religion claims, god too must have a creator.

There was a time mankind believed that beyond the sky god existed (with some religious beliefs naming the sky in layers ie 7 heavens) until when we became masters of the sky ourselves and discovered that ignorance brought that absurd assumption. In time, as we know more, common sense will take over freeing us from shackles of unproven faith.

People who are bold enough to embrace common sense and to challenge the morbid fear of superstitious damnation after death or indescribable satisfaction and pleasure for all eternity, and have made peace with the fact that we will die and return to total basic components we contain as an animal are ATHEISTS.

All living things on earth including humans are born atheist, until some humans choose or have gullibility forced upon them over reason.

In conclusion, with all the knowledge we have gathered right now, the probability of god not existing is greatly higher than that of god existing.
Let us assume there is no God. So the question : where do the laws of logic and morality come from ? What about the conscience that tells you not to kill babies...? Where does it come from...can you answer? Is it from the chemical processes you mentioned ? What about the laws of science and matter...where do they originate from? And don't say science because those laws existed before the advent of science.

And lastly, I strongly disagree with the last paragraph where you said humans are born atheist , because that is another assumption you cannot prove. Because if indeed we were are born atheist, then religion would not be in existence because there would be no foundation for it.

Yes. It hasn't been proven but you think the alternative is to accept prepositions of creation of the universe from books that can't accurately describe the surface of the earth?

Until we are able to prove that, the next best thing we have is the theory that has no mentioning of a god in it.
For the fact you do not understand something does not mean it does not exist. And you can not wholly conclude that there is no God. But for your information, there is a God. For if there were no God, there would be no law of logic, or law of morality, or law of nature. All these would not simply be because there no known "chemical process " that can phantom any of those.

We haven't established the fact that whatever created the universe must be spaceless, timeless and immaterial. Just like we haven't established any fact that the universe has a singular intelligent creator.

In a simpler term, the creation of the universe involved a series of chemical processes that happened over a very long period of time and is still happening.
Chemical process? Please has this been proven? Even Christopher Hitchkins hasn't done this so I wonder where you're getting this theory from undecided

You are not religious ; so let us not even go there. So back to the question : what proof do you have on the origins of this universe? Since we have established, that whatever created this must be spaceless, timeless and immaterial.

This is just an assumption. To force meaning into something you can't understand.

It is just like you saying because sun is what it is today and full of energy, we must come to a conclusion without evidence that a god must have made it so. It is total absurdity.
So how did the universe come into being? Kindly give a hypothetical answer. But mind you, it will still be talking about stuff you cannot prove.

"ATHEISM IS A FAILED QUEST TO DISCOVER GOD THROUGH CRITICAL REASONING. I DISCOVERED GOD THROUGH CRITICAL REASONING. "

You typed this. You have not written anything in this whole write up to validate this statement.

I expected an argument like
After xxxxxxxx
And yyyyyyyyyy through my unbeatable critical reasoning.
I am certain god exist.

Intelligent people that know the reasons behind earth quakes, congenital anomalies and existence of psychopaths won't use these as reasons to claim there is no god.

How does wealth accumulated by men of god(so to say) convince one of existence or non existence of god? It makes no sense.

Comparing our understanding of our parents to understanding of god is very far apart.
We have almost unlimited evidences to support the idea that those who we know as our parents are truly our parents and this evidences support a very singular idea. Like one won't say your father is an Indian and the other says he is an Asian. Contrarily, god has be described in a lot religious texts, and the idea of god has never being the same according to two different religious beliefs, even among those who are as close such as Abrahamic religion.

It is good to point out that these 3 point you dwelt upon didn't say how you discovered god through critical reasoning.

I was so eager to get a true conviction from your post that I read every single word and I did not see anything born out of critical reasoning in it.

This now brings us back to the question, HOW DID YOU DISCOVER GOD?
The discovery of God stems from you just sitting down and thinking about the universe itself. As you know the universe is made up of time, space and matter. And for it to have an origin, it must have been created by something that is immaterial, timeless spaceless and intelligent. This is where the God factor comes into play

Whether eli-whatever is a jew, christian, hindu, muslim, etc is not the bone of contention.

It is not deniable that christians rush to justify the eli-whatever story simply he is seen as a true prophet in their holy book. You can see that in this thread already, with some commentators saying: "it hurts to be mocked, insulted, etc" or that "u should not judge another if u are not in their shoes", etc

My initial post has this: "I understand that christians today (at least the majority) do not go about killing for their faith, but is it not hypocritical to still justify that elisha story and condemn a parallel case?"
So as you said christians may not justify killing from the verses of the Bible.
The question is whether it is not hypocritical to still justify that eli-whatever story and condemn a parallel case (as is the case of Talle)
Who is justifying Elisha? And secondly, islam justifies itself by killing on a daily basis. And Christians and every other person out there, have a right to condemn it. Why? Because it is senseless and goes against the laws of conscience. But I know this some you cannot grasp because you have no sense of moral objectivity being an atheist.

Just because you have a bone of contention with God does make Him any less concerned of how justice should be administered.
