Elijah and Elisha are prophet and the resurrected the dead!. But they are not the foretold prophet that 'will be like Moses'. They didn't Posses those qualities and characteristics attributed to Moses that Max highlighted!
The clause is "I (JEHOVAH) will raise a prophet 'That will be like Moses'

That means Jesus is the speaker .
Why did Jesus Christ the speaker in that Revelation said this in :
Revelation 3:5,12,14,21 KJV He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels. [12] Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name. [14] And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God; [21] To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.
There is no doubt that Jesus is the speaker in this book of revelation .

[3] And he that sat was to look upon like a jasper and a sardine stone: and there was a rainbow round about the throne, in sight like unto an emerald. [4] And round about the throne were four and twenty seats: and upon the seats I saw four and twenty elders sitting, clothed in white raiment; and they had on their heads crowns of gold. [5] And out of the throne proceeded lightnings and thunderings and voices: and there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God.
Who is the speaker in the scriptures above ? Wrong analogy once again. Jesus said, I am the way, the Truth and the Life. No man comes to the Father except through Me (Jesus). Now who is this Father Jesus kept talking about? The answer was found in John 14:9. Jesus directly said He was the Father, putting to rest the doubt of who the Identity of the Father was. In the book of revelation, Jesus and God are protrayed with the names " the Alpha and Omega". The words Alpha and Omega meaning Beginning and end. Jesus proclaimed Himself to be the “Alpha and Omega” in Revelation 1:8; 21:6; and 22:13. Alpha and omega are the first and last letters of the Greek alphabet. Among the Jewish rabbis, it was common to use the first and the last letters of the Hebrew alphabet to denote the whole of anything, from beginning to end. Jesus as the beginning and end of all things is a reference to no one but the true God. This statement of eternality could apply only to God. It is seen especially in Revelation 22:13, where Jesus proclaims that He is “the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.” One of the meanings of Jesus being the “Alpha and Omega” is that He was at the beginning of all things and will be at the close. It is equivalent to saying He always existed and always will exist. It was Christ, as second Person of the Trinity, who brought about the creation: “Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made” (John 1:3), and His Second Coming will be the beginning of the end of creation as we know it (2 Peter 3:10). As God incarnate, He has no beginning, nor will He have any end with respect to time, being from everlasting to everlasting. A second meaning of Jesus as the “Alpha and Omega” is that the phrase identifies Him as the God of the Old Testament. Isaiah ascribes this aspect of Jesus’ nature as part of the triune God in several places. “I, the Lord, am the first, and with the last I am He” (41:4). “I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God” (Isaiah 44:6). “I am he; I am the first, I also am the last” (Isaiah 48:12). These are clear indications of the eternal nature of the Godhead. Christ, as the Alpha and Omega, is the first and last in so many ways. He is the “author and finisher” of our faith (Hebrews 12:2), signifying that He begins it and carries it through to completion. He is the totality, the sum and substance of the Scriptures, both of the Law and of the Gospel (John 1:1, 14). He is the fulfilling end of the Law (Matthew 5:17), and He is the beginning subject matter of the gospel of grace through faith, not of works (Ephesians 2:8-9). He is found in the first verse of Genesis and in the last verse of Revelation. He is the first and last, the all in all of salvation, from the justification before God to the final sanctification . P. S: The person sitting on that throne is still Jesus. Why do I say so? Because it is a revelation. Just like the harlot who represents Babylon is depicted as a Woman. But in reality, is Babylon a woman? No! She is a place! Another is the example is m the Lamb of God with seven eyes? Did Jesus have seven eyes? No! But all this is a revelation |

I believe Jesus is that prophet like Moses what do you think?... Should we be expecting another? Max is looking for the word "exact " not" like. " The situational content use in scripture for the word "like " is comparison. Jesus and Moses are not "like " each other ; you can only compare them. Here is proof : Jesus is a divine and He has always existed (John1:1); Moses was just a man that was born into this world through the creation of man(Book of Exodus) Jesus died and was resurrected ; Moses died and never came back. Jesus is sinless and forgives sins ; Moses was a sinner who died outside the promised land. Jesus performed more miracles than Moses. He also gave life to Lazarus but never was it heard the Moses brought anybody back to life. I could go on and on, but time would not permit. But do not get me wrong, Jesus is the expected Prophet Moses and the other prophets talked about. But He is not like Moses. |

I asked you very simple questions come straight with it. Are the the members of the trinity persons or not? Did these person exist side by side? Remember you said Jesus is the father, keep that in mind very soon you are going to see your folly, by the way the word God the father only came up in the new testament. You have not clarified yourself on Genesis 1 vv 26 either. God said let us create man in our image, so God using plural for himself does that not tell you God what God is? John told you the word was with God right?
To your question since the son is the same as the father and the spirit, we can also say it was the son that was speaking in the old testament right? Hebrews furthermore told you God has being speaking with diverse means, God spoke through prophets, partrachs and even angels.
So if the father is the main Theme of the old testament not the son or the spirit, interesting it would mean the father is not the same manifestation as the Son right? Dont type in hurry, pause for a moment and think through it carefully When you answer the question I asked, buzz me. Okay |

Jesus said those who got things right will shine as in will not go unnoticed {Matthew 5:13-16} so present a group of people performing better than JWs at least to show that Jesus is truly working out something tangible in the midst of his followers today! Matthew 28:20
As for Charles i don't think he condemned God's word Sir, what himself and his colleagues worked out is When and how did the churches went off course as in derailed from the teachings of Jesus Christ which supposed to make LOVE, JOY and PEACE reign in the midst of the adherents! Matthew 7:16-18
So they began making research upon research and today it's obvious that what that little group of researchers started around the 1870s has yielded great benefits as the world can see the global family of peace loving worshipers using the Bible to eradicate racism and hatred amongst the nations! Micah 4:1-3
I'm not interested in fruitless arguments Sir, what really matters to me and every right thinking person is the result of your faith! James 2:18-26

[s][/s] MaxInDHouse: You don't just sit back and expect knowledge to come and meet you in your room, you have to go in search for it in fact you have to ask questions from people around you to be certain that you've not be misinformed. Paul the Apostle quoted the Bible book of Joel 2:32 there and if you want to be sure whether it's Jesus or JEHOVAH that Paul was referring to, just go back to your KJV and read Psalms 110:1 there you'll notice that two Lords were mentioned, David specified that one is greater than the other. Now your KJV indicates the one Paul was referring to because JEHOVAH'S name was replaced with the title Lord in most places in the KJV but it's in capital "LORD"
The idea of Jesus being the Almighty God has already been defeated long ago! For the last 1800 years TRINITY has failed to make LOVE, JOY and PEACE reign in the midst of it's adherents, whereas God's word clearly stated that the first three evidence of God's holy spirit in the gathering of God's people is LOVE JOY and PEACE! Galatians 5:22-23
You will surely have the PEACE from God that surpasses all thoughts if you humbly listen to the truth {Philippians 4:7} that's what Jesus promised his true followers {John 14:27} the one and only group of people having such PEACE permeating their Organization globally as one big and happy family of peace loving worshipers is JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES ORGANIZATION. Mind you Apostle Paul warned everyone saying When you notice these qualities actively working in any human gathering know that "against them there is no law" Galatians 5:23
WHY? Because these are the attributes of God's holy spirit so no human gathering can produce these FRUIT if God's holy spirit is not at work in such a gathering!
That's what Jesus meant when he said "a good tree will not produce routine fruit neither will a bad tree produce fine fruit" Matthew 7:18
No honest hearted and sincere individual will see these attributes of God's holy spirit actively working and say "it's the gathering of demonic spirits" because such an utterance will never be forgiven ~Jesus of Nazareth Luke 12:10
So if you find any group of religionists ridiculing the fine works of God's holy spirit {James 2:18-26} Please! Please!! Please!!! Do not sit together with them! Psalms 1:1
May you have PEACE! [s][/s]Here are biblical examples of calling upon the name of the Lord. Calling upon the name of the LordThis phrase from Joel is found again in Romans 10:13 - "For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved." An examination of the context will show that calling on the name of the Lord comes after hearing and believing the gospel (vs. 13-17). After affirming that whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved, Paul laments that "they have not all obeyed the gospel" (v. 16). "Calling on the name of the Lord" and "obeying the gospel" are synonymous in this passage. Thus, it is more than a verbal appeal to the Lord for salvation. The Bible actually contains two specific accounts of individuals calling upon the name of the Lord. The first is in Acts 2. When these Jews heard the gospel, and believed that they had crucified the Lord(Jesus), they asked, "Men and brethren, what shall we do?" (v. 37). Peter had told them that those who call on the name of the Lord(Jesus) shall be saved. They were wanting to know how to do this. Peter responded, "Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit" (v. 38). The second example occurs in Acts 22:16, which gives an account of the conversion of Saul. Ananias came to Saul and said, "And now why are you waiting? Arise and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on the name of the Lord." Notice, in both of these accounts, submitting to the command of baptism was the means of calling upon the name of the Lord. The Lord here is Jesus. Who according to Joel, is the only one capable to deliver from sin. Lastly, I can see your are a poor history student; who is too eager to support Charles Russell Tuze that you forgot that His movement stemmed from these same Trinity doctrines(Please argue this with Google). If those doctrines were not peaceful, Charles would not even touch Christianity as a religion. And this is a fact. Peace |

livingchrist: God the father was the main theme is not the question here but rather, did the other persons of the trinity existed side by side with the father yes or no? Again John told you the word was with God ,right? And you lied in that regard, the holy spirit from Genesis to Malachi is several times mentioned. And again, you said the holy Spirit was a later manifestation right? Which means he was not old testament, how come he is mentioned numerous times in the old testament right from Genesis? And again you said God took counsel from the Godhead, who then are the Godhead? Is the father a person? Is the son a person? And is the holy Spirit a person? If yes you have already defeated your blind argument, it would mean that God consulted persons not manifestations. Oga, you seem to be inconsistent in everything and, I believe it stems from your basic understanding of English language. When i casually used the word "theme", the word in this context was referring to was "the main speaker"(God the father). Hope you get me. Now God is a tripartite being and I explain this earlier. Just scroll up and see it! Now you did something foolish by saying I lied. Please how did I do this? Did I not make mention that the Holy Spirit is mentioned in a handful of old testament verses? Does the word " handful" now mean "theme"? Look here : the point I raised was that God the Father, was the basic theme of the old testament. Which is why you have God the Father speaking basically through virtaully all the prophetic books written in the old testament. I butresss this point with the first five books of the Bible :Genesis, Exodus, Levitus, Numbers and Deuteronomy. Now who was basically speaking in those five books? Now answer with with the following : A. God the Father B. God the Son C. God the Holy Spirit D. All three Once you answer this one, we will move on to the minor Prophets. And I will show you again that God the Father is the basically the theme in the book of the minor Prophets. |

Thirdly, Is the holy spirit a force or a person? Oga stop being silly and listen. Who is the main character in the old testament? And who was the emphasis really about? And yes, old testament contained a handful verses that mentioned the Spirit of God, but the emphasis was always basically on God the Father. God is three entities in one vessel(Colossian 2:9). And this vessel always acts singlularly in purpose. Throughout scripture, we see that when Godhead (Elohim) wants to make a decision, the counsel of the Godhead (Father, Son and the Holy Spirit) comes into play(Genesis3:22). So, Jesus is not that prophet right? [/s]Please get this straight : The word similar does not mean exact and that is what you want. The use of the word likein this situational context means compare. It is synonymous but not exact in meaning And looking at it logically, Moses is not like Jesus because he was never worshipped. The only 'likeness" they share here is their ability to lead people from the oppression they faced. |
