Teenzy: Hello Doc,For someone with cataract how can he go about it?Its like a medium sized whitish substance is covering the black part of one of the eyes...He doesnt want it to affect the other eye and he doesnt want to undergo any surgery cos he's grown up.. Its very simple. If the cataract is immature, then he will have to cope with it. The eye doctor will test to see if glasses can make any difference in his vision. When the cataracts matures, my advise is to do cataracts extraction. If He's old and don't want to, then let him maximize the vision in the other eye. |

firstgirl: Dear Doc, I developed preeclampsia during pregnancy. It still hasn't cleared after 2months of delivery. I have seen an eye doctor and after going through some tests. She said that the pressure on my both eyes are high.....pls dear what do I do? Pressure from Pre-eclampsia decreases over time. Wat u should do is to monitor ur intraocular pressure. Do u have any family history of glaucoma ? Did the doctor give u any eyedrop to redure the pressure ? |

bosunjohns: Thanks for the help. I'm impressed. My optician told me a lie. Before he gave me glasses he promised the glasses would correct my vision. Unfortunate lay there is no correction. I only see improvement when I use the glasses. My thought was that the glasses would cure the myopia I had. Now I'm so dependent on my glasses. I don't want to use this glasses anymore. Please what can I do? Unfortunately, for Myopia and most refractive errors the only options are Glasses, Contact lenses and surgery (Orthokeratology, laser surgery etc ). Drugs don't and can't work. |

Ishilove: I have high myopia. I use -10 lenses, with cylinder. In fact it was when I started using lenses with cylinder that the double vision reduced drastically. I am supposed to be using -12, but the doc said that for my overall health I should stick to 10. I had diplopia for 3yrs until last year when doc gave me the cylinder lenses.
My complaint is that I still have it, especially when I use my phone without wearing glasses. And if I try to focus on distant objects, my the images divide. I always look cross eyed when it happens. Ok. I now see why. the thing is: You must always used ur glasses. The moment u remove it, you diplopia will resurface. The glasses ONLY corrects ur vision while u r wearing it. |

picasso4u: greetnz doc, I have many questions but 1st, let me describe my eyes. I am 17 yes and has been using glasses since 2010. I am myopic and uses lens of either + or -5.5 (can't actually remember d sign). the lens is no longer serving me well, either it has depreciated in value or my eyes is getting worse. went 4 eye test and they prescribed either + or - 7. don't know if that is 2 much 4 my age. secondly, is there any hope of my eyes getting better. thirdly, what medical advice can u give me especially to avoid future blindness. I am also a phone and laptop Frick...always with my phone finally, is there any adverse effect of always and constantly wearing glasses. tnx in advance as I anticipate u professional advice. 1..Glasses have no adverse effect on ur eye. 2..You seems to have high myopia (-7.00Ds). U must constantly wear ur glasses. If the glasses r no longer comfortable then go for a Eye review. 3..You are at risk of developing glaucoma too. So get tested for IOP. 4..is any of ur parent myopic too? |

I also have serious eye ache coupled with headache sometimes, after _using my laptop, it gets wet n red sometmes wen I wake _up , can I knw why my eyes does dat? 6/18 vision is poor. The baseline is 6/6. You need to get optical correction ASAP. The headache might suggest that astigmatism is also involved. |

Health › Re: Ask The Eye Doctor Any Problem Concerning The Eyes by jauntty: 1:05pm On Oct 26, 2014 |
marvelling: Yes. But, tearing mostly occurs early in the morning or whenever I wake up from sleep. Its likely not dry eye. See an eye doctor. For now you can start off with an antibiotic ointment such as Aristobet-N ointment evry night, as long as u don't have any history of eye pressure. |

sadiku95: Pls. How much does cataract surgery cost.. And pls can one treat cataract with drugs?? Or is a surgery needed.. Cos I have a blurry vission and I think it's cataract.. Have u been diagnosed of cataracts ? Because plenty things can cause blur vision. Things like refractive errors, corneal issues or even high blood sugar. Drugs don't cure cataracts, it can help minimize d progression. When the cataracts is matured u will need to do cataract extraction. |

abduldope: @doc wit tym will I gt my fomer vision back... Refractive errors such as myopia means dat light does not focus properly on your retina. The glasses will push the light to d retina so that u see clearly and comfortably. It doesn't cure the errors. The corrections is ONLY wen u r putting on the glasses. |
