When I see CBN offering 7 to 8 percent on Savings bond, and 13 percent on FgN bonds, it seems funny.
Real time Inflation has hit 50 percent and they keep offering peanut interest rates, you're better off stocking bags of rice, beverages etc with that money than give it to the government at thesz terrible rates. Dollar is already N600 by year end na like N780, that will be total wipeout of anything denominated in Naira cash investment. |

The only ones who takes responsibility for all the mess are the words FGN and CBN, not the governor, not the finance minister. The words are just mere entities, when kasala bursts every investor will be on their own. jedisco: In another new... the latest eurobond offering was oversubscribed to the tune of 200% causing a rate reduction from 8.7 to 8.3. Of course the DMO will attribute this to 'invesor confidence' which is untrue. If the effective rate was much lower, I'd agree. The DMO needs to look into whoever is advising them on rates. A 0.5% rate drop would save the nation tens of millions in forex I'm no economist but commonsense dictates that if I'm spending over 2/3rd of my income to pay old debts, any new debt I'm taking should be at the lowest rate possible. |

Very similar to what I mentioned here a few weeks ago, the sharp decline with Naira is inevitable, looking at the prices of commodities now can only indicate what will happen in less than a year from now. I am thinking moving all my Naira to a fixed asset like property which has shown tremendous increase in value from 2020 till now, but then the difficulty remains either buying an already built or buy and build, the more you wait, the more costs go up. I might just find a reputable real estate company and mitigate the risks to them pizapato: Over the last 3 years, the naira has consistently lost about 20% of its value per year
Jan 2020: 1$ = #360 | Dec 2020: 1$ = #460 Jan 2021: 1$ = #470 | Dec 2021: 1$ = #560 Jan 2022: 1$ = #560 | Dec 2022: 1$ = #?
Currently dollars sells between 580-590, by the end of the year it might sell for 660 if the pattern continues. Investing in dollar dominated asset at 5% per annum will give 25% return annually when you factor in devaluation.
Any investment in naira that is not returning minimum of 20% per annum is not worth it because of the possibility of naira losing beyond 20% of its value in that period.
Better to convert your money to dollar and hide it under your pillow |

Imagine, a re-opening bond, why can't they let the initial bond and invested sum run and complete it's tenure if not greed? The terms are that the,13 percent you see may drop to 9 percent after settling initial creditors. I have seen situations whereby an initial bond request was to borrow N150 billion but he turn out was massive and the FGN ended up borrowing N250 billion (This is disguised fraud) and no one is saying anything about it. Now they want to bring back toll gates, giving money to Naija govt now looks like lavishing money on a girlfriend, when una break up and you ask her of all the loans she go tell you say you don chop am for kpekus. Not discouraging you but beware ! Dum20: March FGN Bond is next week.

There are so many ways, it costs me money to find two working ways, unfortunately I can't spill it on a public forum or even in private cos what works for me won't work for others. All I will say is look deep and keep doing feasibility studies. I can't put any Naira into anything less than 15 percent a year, the ones I'm doing now gives me at least that minimum within weeks. Everybody keeps learning, devaluation has done me strong thing, some people will never fully understand as classroom don't really teach these things. The FGN rates are very tempting and hard to ignore but in a dwindling economy hmmm. chigo4u: Buy dollar 430 from where |

I don't think anyone in their right mind would invest N5K in bonds, just printing the forms already cost N500 per page in some locations, internet N3500 per month. For N5K investors, better use it buy one carton of Hero. Anything less than N50K I would suggest buying USDT Crypto, N50k and above try buy dollar at N430, Naira will never go below that in the history of mankind. N10 million and above, property in a developed area will surely payoff. Labadi69: For someone with large funds, you can’t keep it idle or blow it na but for someone with only 5k?? Isn’t that madness to put it in bonds? I repeat if you have 5k, you are poor. Just enjoy that money today. Feel fine and gain the full utility. Keep it in bonds and after years of devaluation, that money is completely useless in this shithole |

I was just thinking about this in the last few days, investing in FGN Bonds to gain 10% that is if they pay immediately upon maturity otherwise it will be 9.smthn% that is if held till maturity meanwhile the new govt, that will enter must surely devalue say by 15 percent for the next 3 years of the bond's tenure. Buhari has already devalued by 35 percent from 2020 till now. Keeping the funds idle will be worse off, in my opinion, it's better to invest in something stable or something will at least 50 percent appreciation over the next 3 years. Any ideas? Labadi69: Yamayama nack your oily bald head for this rubbish wey you just type. You are getting 10% from Nigeria gov while currency dey devalue faster and you think you are making progress with FGN instruments? You are daft |

Oh really, for nearly a month nothing on N25 million chai. How long does it take from the time you apply with the stockbroker to the time it lands in your bank account? ukay2: You have to apply for redemption of your capital with your bank or stockbroker to get the capital of your investment.
CBN will not just pay you the fund until you fill the redemption fund.....this is unlike treasury bills that come automatically at the maturity date.
I have done 3 FGN bonds that matured and that was what l did to get my funds.. |

Thanks Furthermore, pls do you know if someone who applies to study in Canada is eligible to apply for permanent residency after one year course? Also, do you have any idea of the living expenses that needs to be shown to stand a great chance of getting the visa? viviangogos: 1) for schools that offer your course of choice, use the below link to do your search:
https://w05.educanada.ca/index.aspx?action=programsearch-rechercheprogramme&lang=eng
2) Career / academic progression is an important aspect to convince the VO for a successful visa application. If you are currently working in a particular field, submit proof of your work and why the studies will help you in your career. If you are fresh out of school, then you need to show progression in your study area. However, people do change career but your SOP will be very convincing enough on why the change, job availability in country of residence, and what value the course will add to you and your country in other to have a successful application.
All the best. |

Hello everyone, Please I would like to know any link to schools in Canada that offer social welfare courses and details of the tuition fees.
For someone who studied business management course in Nigeria, would it be favourable when applying to for a visa for a role opposite what the person had studied at the University.
Also, what are the likelihood of getting jobs while studying and supporting oneself as a student over there and which city is more open to job opportunities?
Thanks in advance |

Cheers champion, top man matrix199: Too easy.
The sum of A+B+C+D+E divided by the number of the vertices of the polygon(pentagon) gives F(centre figure/number)
1. 1+1+4+7+12 = 25/5 = 5.
2. 9+2+1+3+0 = 15/5 = 3.
3. 10+20+30+50+E / 5 = 30 110 + E = 30 x 5 110 + E = 150 E = 150 - 110 E = 40
4. A+10+8+9+7 / 5 = 8 A+34 = 8 x 5 A+34 = 40 A = 40 - 34 A = 6.
5. 13+30+2+14+1= 60/5 = 12.

Guys this Buhari/Osibanjo campaign just reminded me of the possible outcome of long term investments. 5 years ago dollar here was at N216/$, now dollar is N440/$.
Does it mean in 5 years time dollar could be N880/$. That means if you convert and invest N5m ~ $11,111 in Sukuk bond, after 5 years interest on 5 years will be N2.8m then reconvert capital + interest to USD i.e N7.8m/N880 = $8,863.
It will feel like I swallowed my pride after 5 years.
