I don't still understand how a sitting Governor leaves his country to go and study a course abroad leaving the country where you are meant to function, why did you run for the post then if you know you want to pursue an academic degree? Being a Governor is a full time Job and shouldn't be treated this way. He is just doing all these nonsense just to add to his selling point for 2019. 13 Likes |

Celebrities / NCC Makes Kano Actor Ali Nuhu Face Of Nigeria Telecom Consumer Campaign(Pics) by Jayceo(m): 3:46pm On Mar 09, 2017 |
Kannywood actor Ali Nuhu has been announced the face of the Nigerian Telecom Consumer Campaign which starts next week. Tony Ojobo the Director of Public Affairs for the NCC took to Instagram to make the announcement. He said: All is now set for the flag off campaign of the Nigerian Telecom Consumer. It is billed for Wednesday, March 15, 2017 which coincides with the 2017 World Consumer Rights Day (WCRD) with the theme “Building a Digital World Consumers can trust”. The high point of the event which holds at the NCC Headquarters in Abuja is the unveiling of the face of the Nigerian Telecom Consumer. Two high profile artistes have been named to showcase the face of the consumer. Chief Host of the event, Executive Vice Chairman (EVC), NCC, Prof. Umar G. Danbatta, had earlier said in Abuja that consumer protection and empowerment is one of the eight pillars of the 8-point agenda of his administration and so “the Commission is dedicating the year 2017 to the welfare of telecom consumers”. Key components of the year of the telecom consumer include: Creation of greater awareness on Quality of Service (QoS); Electromagnetic Fields (EMF); Do Not Disturb (DND) which consumers can use to stop unsolicited text messages and The NCC’s toll free line – 622 through which consumers can reach the Commission in cases where service providers fail to resolve their complaints. The campaign hopes to secure the support of network operators towards meeting set targets and Key Performance Indicators (KPI) on Quality of Services especially as it affects drop calls. Only recently, the Commission read the riot act to operators on poor quality of service, especially drop calls and poor network services in general. The year of Nigerian Telecom Consumer campaign will also witness a new programme tagged “NCC Consumer conservation” which the Commission plans for different locations across the six geopolitical zones. It will be an interactive session which will provide information empowerment for the consumer. Politics / If You Kill In The Name Of Religion,You Are Insane! –Vice President (Punch news) by Jayceo(m): 10:18am On Jan 10, 2017 |
The Vice-President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, said on Sunday that people who killed others in the name of religion in the country were insane. Osinbajo, who spoke at the 2017 Armed Forces Remembrance Day Celebration Service in Abuja, said President Muhammadu Buhari had always asserted that Nigerians should not be deceived by those who claimed to kill in the name of religion. The VP, who praised the armed forces for their strides in the North-East, urged Nigerians not to forget the labour of their heroes. Osinbajo quoted from 2 Timothy. 2:3-4 in the Holy Bible, said the military would bring back sanity to Southern Kaduna. He said, “We remember our departed military heroes. Against the Boko Haram, they stood side by side and fought the insurgents. The President said and I quote, ‘The military that I joined never recognised tribe or religion, we fought side by side. We must never be deceived by those who kill in the name of religion. Anyone who kills another, and says God is great, is insane. He does not understand what he is saying.’ “Today, we celebrate our fallen heroes. We do so with the wisdom of the scriptures. The battles they fought against are the battles to ensure that good prevails over evil in Nigeria. “Many of our soldiers died in the North-East. At some point, this evil ideology of the Boko Haram had taken over 14 Local Government Areas in this country, before the military engaged them and won. “Soldiers occupy a special place in the gospel of Jesus Christ. The military profession is the only profession to which the saints are compared.” The Prelate, Methodist Church, Dr. Emeka Uche, in his sermon on the occasion, urged the political office holders and Nigerians to shun corruption in their daily lives and embrace righteousness. “The kingdom of God is around us, and Jesus asked us to seek first that kingdom. We must acknowledge God’s supreme power in our lives and do His will. I see hope in Nigeria and our country will start to do the right things,” he added. Meanwhile, the Catholic Archbishop of Jos, Most Rev Ignatius Kaigama, has condemned the recent killings in some communities in Southern Kaduna. Kaigama, who is the President, Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria, said this in an article titled, ”The Sacredness of Life Versus the Slaughter of Innocent Nigerian Citizens Today.” The article was made available to the News Agency of Nigeria on Sunday in Jos. The cleric, who expressed worry over the wanton destruction of lives and property in Southern Kaduna, added that Nigeria had gone through difficult moments lately, hence in dire need of total peace. He said the attacks and counter attacks in Southern Kaduna would rather aggravate Nigeria’s challenges and further impoverish the poor masses. The cleric said that no one had the right to take the life of another person at will, unless God, the creator and giver of life. He added, ”…It is a pity that the younger generation in Nigeria is growing with an unfortunate impression that life is very cheap and can be taken away by anyone or group.” http://punchng.com/killing-people-religion-insane-says-osinbajo/

A new pipeline is in the offing, from Port Harcourt to Kano. Then three new power plants. One in Kano, one in Kaduna, one in Abuja. This comes as more resources are being devoted to the search for oil in the North-East, then there’s that 3% of VAT thing, that somehow Kano got itself involved in, despite a) not being in the North-East, and b) not exactly being victims of Boko Haram’s festivities. There’s no hiding it. This administration has a clear agenda, and the North is front and centre of that agenda. Many of my southern compatriots have complained, bitterly in some cases, about how we are constantly “shafted” by the North. I think different. To be honest, I can’t help but envy the almost laser sharp focus of the northern elite in cornering the resources of this ‘ere country for their purpose. Whether those resources are used properly is another matter. What matters here is the lessons to be learned. First, it is true that the northern elite is ahead, only just, of the various factions in the South as the most hedonistic and self-obsessed group of people in this country, and those guys have managed to abuse noble concepts like Zakat for their own selfish purposes. But I’m a firm believer in the theory of enlightened self-interest, and as the resources available to share dwindle, and the population, especially in the North, grows, I believe that a leader will eventually emerge in the North, who will go beyond merely giving his people fish, but teaching them how to fish. When that happens, someone else will teach his people how to create a scarcity of fish. Concurrently, what will happen in the South? Our own ‘leaders’ here are too busy feathering their own nests and not giving a hoot about building sustainable alliances. Within the South. You see, one of the greatest victories of the Northern establishment is in the manner they managed to convince so many in the South that we must all have a “national vision”, yet if you look closely, many in the North, the intelligentsia, the common people, always promote the Arewa ideal. Are they wrong? The answer is NO. There is nothing wrong in advancing the interest of your section of the country. Where things start to get messy is when you advance your interests, and deliberately pull down others at the same time. That is what has been happening in Nigeria. Unfortunately, we have spent the greater part of three generations making it look like advancing your own interests is dirty, and as a result, abusing people, especially Southerners, who try to advance their own interests. This has to change, and what is important is the context within which it changes. You see, if we make this change, but maintain the current context, we will be caught in an endless loop where the moment someone comes into power in the all powerful Abuja centre, only the “interests” of his people will be advanced for four years. Then when he leaves, the pendulum swings, and so on. That, is not sustainable. However, if we have a situation where people are allowed to be creative within their own small enclaves, then pay Abuja an agreed percentage of their sweat, while keeping the rest, then we will quickly find that we can all advance the interests of our sections, and the interest of Nigeria. Politics / "Amaechi Tried To Bribe Me" - Inyang Okoro Accuses Minister by Jayceo(m): 9:43pm On Oct 18, 2016 |
One of the Supreme Court Justices arrested by operatives of the Department of State Services Justice John Inyang Okoro, has accused Minister of Transport Rotimi Amachi of having attempted to bribe him over three election petitions matters that were resolved earlier this year. In a letter addressed to the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Okoro narrated his ordeal in the hands of DSS on the night of Friday October 7th and early morning of Saturday October 8th. He said Rotimi Amaechi came to his house to inform him that both President Mohammadu Buhari and the All Progressives Congress asked to tell him that they must win their cases in three states of Rivers, Akwa Ibom and Abia states. The judge said Amaechi told him that he sponsored Umana Umana, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the Akwa Ibom state governorship election. He alleged that Amaechi promised him a monthly pay from Umana once the candidate is declared the winner of the election by the Supreme Court. The part of the letter where the Supreme Court judge made these allegations appeared like a mere reminder to the CJN. Justice Inyang deployed lines like “My Lord will recall the verbal report I made to you on…”. Neither the APC nor Rotimi Amaechi has responded to the major allegation. Attached is the letter http://www.dailytrust.com.ng/news/law/judges-raid-okoro-writes-njc-indicts-umana-amaechi-on-bribery-letter-included/167434.html 7 Likes 5 Shares
