Someone will soon come here to type "Do not judge" |
Maybe they may move to adjourn the plenary till thursday. Or is compulsory that there must be parliamentary sitting on wednesday? |
nkemdi89:Just as there are always non-Igbo in Enugu cabinet |
Jarus:Yeah, the rivalry between 3SC and Stores then was legendary. Perhaps, we can see something of such in the coming season, as MFM and Ikorodu utd had gained promotion. |

Ask most Shooting Stars fans about Mrs Olubunmi Aina and many will respond that they don't know her. But ask for "Mama Sooting" and they will lead you to the slim but fit woman who graces every match 3SC plays. Incidentally, Mrs. Aina and Mama Sooting are one and the same person. She has been with the club for ages and not a few fans respect her loyalty to the Oluyole Warriors. She knows all the players, past and present by name and over time, Mama Sooting has become one of the club's symbols. Apart from the late Chief Olalekan Sanusi Salami, fondly referred to as "LS", after who Shooting Stars' home stadium is named and late Ganiyu Elekuru better known as "Baba Eleran", most fans have hardly seen anyone whose passion for the club exceeds the one displayed by Mrs. Aina. It is believed in some quarters that she is already working her way to the Shooting Stars' Hall of Fame. Below are the pictures of "Mama Sooting", a staunch supporter of Shooting Stars Sports Club, Ibadan. #SupportNPFL Cc Lalasticlala

El-Kanemi vs Enyimba The Peoples’ Elephants will be hoping to extend its leadership on the road this weekend against El-Kanemi Warriors at the 10,000 capacity El-Kanemi Stadium in Maiduguri on Sunday. The Kadiri Ikhana tutored side has maintained good away record this season, except the last away game to Giwa FC in which they lost 1-0 in Jos. This is not the first time for Coach Kadiri Ikhana to win the league with Enyimba, he won it in the 2003-04, and also won it with current champions, Kano Pillars in the 2007-08 season, before quitting the job. The match is expected to be a stroll in the park for Enyimba given the record of El-Kanemi in their last five games. In fact their last game away to Bayelsa United ended in a 4-1 defeat at the Samson Siasia Stadium, in Yenagoa. Nevertheless, Enyimba will have to prove beyond reasonable doubt in the tie. Abia Warriors vs Warri Wolves Just like Enyimba, Warri Wolves will also have to travel to Umuahia for their Week 30 game against Abia Warriors FC. The club is currently going some financial crisis, owing to the non-payment of players’ salaries, and other emoluments in the current season. But in spite of the troubles, the club is not doing badly at this crucial stage of the league. It promises to be a very difficult game for the Seasiders, given the home record of the hosts in the league. The Aba based club have won their last five home games without dropping any point, which is something Warri Wolves is going to contend with. On its own part, Warri Wolves have also performed average on the road this season, but the Abia Township Stadium is another compulsory test that the club must conquer if they want to keep the chase on Enyimba for the NPFL title. Wikki Tourists vs Bayelsa United On paper Wikki Tourists is having the easiest fixtures in the Week 30 tie, but football has gone beyond playing it on paper. The Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium has become a fortress for the club, making it a slaughtering ground for any club that came visiting. Unfortunately however for Bayelsa, they have had the poorest away record in the league so far this season, which makes the job very easy for the Bauchi side. The club just gained promotion from the Nigeria National League (NNL) lower division to the topflight, and the form has been worthy of commendation so far. Kwara United vs Sunshine Sunshine International will have its hand full in the tie against Kwara United at the Ilorin Township Stadium on Sunday. The Afonja Warriors have maintained a clean shhet record at home in their last six games, which is another uphill task for the Akure Gunners who are not doing well of late in both their home and away matches. Sunshine last home game ended in a 2-3 defeat to visiting Nasarawa United, and going away to Ilorin this weekend is another big challenge for the Coach Kenedy Boboye lads who are gradually surrendering their NPFL title bid to other clubs. But victory on the road can revive the hopes again for them. Giwa FC vs Sharks The quest of Sharks to finally escaped relegation in the league this season received a big boost with last weekend’s victory at home to Ifeayi Ubah FC in Port Harcourt. But against a high profile Giwa FC who has a good home record is another mountain to climb. The Blue Angels will visit the Rwang Pam Stadium on Sunday with great expectation not to go down anymore. A draw at least for Sharks will prove a good result in the end; but if they succeeded in getting a win, that is a big bonus worthy of champagne. Ifeanyi Ubah vs Kano Pillars Up until the crisis that cropped up in the team in last Sunday’s defeat to Sharks in Port Harcourt, Ifeanyi Ubah has maintained a good record in their last five home games. This season the league champions, Kano Pillars have gotten poor away record, which accounted for their recent position on the NPFL log. Ifeanyi Ubah is in crisis over the resignation of their coach Daniel Amokachi. But since Pillars are yet to prove that they are convincing on the road this season, the tie is something that could be termed unpredictable for both teams. Nasarawa United vs Rangers This is another epic test for the Solid Miners in the NPFL, after last weekend’s 2-3 win against Sunshine in Akure. Rangers International will be coming to prove a point that they can also win away from home if Nasarawa could do it against the Akure Gunners. The Flying Antelopes have not been good travelers this season, and that is something Nasarawa can capitalize on in Lafia when the two clubs clash this weekend. But time will definitely tell if Rangers can would make it happen on Sunday. Heartland vs Lobi Stars Heartland have been on the average in their last five home games, which is something Lobi can leverage on. The Naze Millionaires will have to regain their fans confidence at Dan Anyiam Stadium, with a victory over Lobi Stars of Makurdi. Lobi have also performed below expectation this season, and a victory for Heartland is something to savour for the club who is yet to make a convincing statement in the Nigerian league in last couple of years. 3SC vs Akwa United Shooting Stars are already warming up to whip Akwa United in their Sunday’s game at the Adamasingba Stadium in Ibadan. The Oluyole Warlords have maintained a good home record in their last six games, which is a big morale booster for the Gbenga Ogunbote’s tutored team. But underrating Akwa is something they might have to regret, giving the new spirit in the camp of the Promise Keepers. Coach Zachary Baraje has been firm in recent times by telling the boys to play their hearts in the last games of the season in order the club from sinking. The match promises to be greatly exciting in Ibadan. Dolphins vs FC Taraba Dolphins FC will be looking to avenge last weekend’s 2-0 defeat they suffered in the hands of current league leaders in Aba, when FC Taraba come visiting on Sunday. The Pride of Rivers as their name is being called, would be more eager to compound the relegation troubles of Taraba at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium. The club has a good home record working for them, but the newly promoted FC Taraba is yet to convince that they have something to offer; as they are currently 19th on the log before the Week 30 game this weekend away to Dolphins. ****3SC VS Akwa United game will be live on Super sports Select. http://saharareporterssport.com/npfl-week-30-match-day-previews/ Cc Lalasticlala

The Code of Conduct Tribunal on Friday issued a bench warrant against the Senate President, Bukola Saraki. The tribunal ordered the Inspector General of Police and other security agencies to arrest and produce him in court on Monday. The tribunal judge, Justice Danladi Umar, gave the order in his ruling on preliminary objection to Saraki’s arraignment at the tribunal on a 13-count charge of alleged false declaration of assets. The tribunal refused appeal by Saraki’s lawyer, Joseph Daodu (SAN), to vacate its order for bench warrant, undertaking to personally ensure his (Saraki) appearance on Monday. The tribunal insisted on its orders and adjourned till Monday. http://thenationonlineng.net/asset-declaration-tribunal-orders-sarakis-arrest/ |

May God bless Jega for introducing card reader. |
There was fresh revelation Tuesday as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) disclosed that only 293,072 voters were accredited for the April 11 governorship poll in Rivers State. INEC Deputy Director on Information Communication Technology (ICT), Mrs. Abimbola Oladunjoye disclosed this during the ongoing Rivers State governorship election tribunal in Abuja. This was contrary to initial disclosure by the electoral commission which put the total number of accredited voters to about 1,029, 102. Oladunjoye revealed the data after persistent questioning by the Counsel to the petitioner, Mr Akinlolu Olujimi, (SAN). The respondent lawyers which include; Onyechi Ikpeazu (INEC), Emmanue Okala (for Wike) and Chris Uche (for PDP) made effort to discourage the witness from disclosing the information which according to them was already in the document presented to the Tribunal Chairman, Justice Mohammed Ambrosa. According to Oladunjoye, who is also INEC Head of Data Management Unit explained that the information gathered from card readers were periodically uploaded to the central server of the commission automatically. She said though, it may be delayed due to network interruption. “I am aware that the commission took a decision that the smart card reader should be used for accreditation on governorship election. “On election day every voters are supposed to come to the polling unit with his or her voters’ card. The Incident Form is issued to a voter when the card reader cannot successfully accredit him or her and this. “The server was available for the card reader data uploading throughout the period of the election and was shut down six weeks after the election,’’ Oladunjoye added. When cross-examined by INEC counsel, Ikpeazu, (SAN), Oladunjoye said that the card reader machine used for the presidential election was the same used for governorship. According to her, the only issue in the card reader machine is that the machines were only reconfigured before the governorship election. She also said that if a voter card was damaged, the card reader machine may not be able to recognise it, adding that, if it was dirty, the card reader will still recognise it. “If a card is damage, the card reader may not be able to recognise it, the card reader are RF ID card which has antennal; the card reader communicate to the antennal to enable it read. “So if the card is dirty, I don’t think there is a problem,’’ She added. When further questioned by the Counsel to Wike, Ukala, (SAN) during cross examination, Oladunjoye disclosed that the card reader recognises information which includes the registration area, polling unit and serial number of voters. Other information recognised by the card reader machine are Local Government Area, delimitation constituency, a signal of a fail or successful accreditation and total number of accredition made by the machine. Earlier, Senior Police Officer, Mr. Tafa Michael from Mopol 48, AHODA, Rivers state told the tribunal that he was able to make arrest of over 70 people in Seme, a satellite town in the state as a result of the distress call he got from his superior officers on the day of election. According to Michael, the call came in at about 12: 45 p.m. and that he quickly moves into action alongside his team to the town where he was directed to go. “On arrival at Seme, there was a compound opposite the PDP secretariat which I was informed by people living in that area that, inside the house there are a lot of people with electoral materials. “I came down with my men from our vehicle and we met the people including some security men jubilating with electoral material inside the compound. “They came there with a lorry and we evacuated them to our place after taking some shot of them with our phones,’’ the witness said. Michael listed Corp members, INEC ad-hoc staffs, PDP party agent with electoral materials like card reader machine, thumb printed ballot papers, electoral boxes, inkpad, T-Shirts and other security personnel as those recovered from the said compound. According to the witness, after leaving that venue, they took the people to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Nigerian Police. http://thenationonlineng.net/only-293072-voters-accredited-for-rivers-guber-polls-inec-official/ |
Firstly, we have to know it is a proposed budget that hasn't been passed. If you are conversant with Great Ife politics, you will agree with me that it is the only Students' Union that is been drive by the students. The students will at the end determine what happens. The B&F committee will have to see to this proposed budget and it will be discussed at the level of the parliament in Awo Hall Cafe. The members of the gallery (non-parliamentarians) will also be recognised and be given opportunity to debate. Even if the parliament is unable to do the needful, the issue will be referred to the congress which is the general assembly of Great Ife students. The congress is the highest decision making body in the Union. So at the end, all power belongs to the students and the will at last determine how their money should be spent. *However, that outrageous and pocket-tearing amount shouldn't have been proposed at the first instance. |
