Brendaniel: The south is learning the hard way, thanks to the south-west and part of south-south, by 2023 una eye go clear...
Note: I am neither an IPOB nor Jonathan band wagon, I don't support both so don't quote me if you think in that direction....
My point is the south west and part of south south have betrayed the south east twice and this is where we are as a nation today, the entire south is learning a very brutal lesson and it will continue till the entire south unite, the problem in this country is people don't go through history to see patterns, behaviour, reasons of past governance and the the attitude of certain interests of governance from the north, this has been going on for as long as you can imagine even before the Biafran war, study history and you will see a lot...
you are very funny, you compare Jesus Christ and Nigeria, kai!!! Firstly, Jesus Christ predicted his betrayal and even told Judas Iscariot about it, so who told Nigerians that the south west and part of south south will betray the south east twice? since you are bringing the Bible into this, maybe we will liken it to where Peter denied Jesus 3 times and the cock crowed, The south west and part of south south that has betrayed the south east twice and the cock( Buhari) has crowed, please don't do a third one because the crow will be very loud...

You see that's the problem with Nigerians, The question is did the military go to lekki toll gate to shoot, firstly if they admit they were there, they are wrong, secondly if they admit they shot whether blank bullets or real bullets then they are also wrong, nothing justifies that in a democratic setting, whether people died or not, that is what good governance is all about, you don't use military on citizens, highest is police, then you are here trying to justify something that is wrong, that's why the country is where it is today, people don't even know what good governance is about, like you telling me a man attempted to rape a woman and he wasn't successful, then you justify the act by saying after all she wasn't successfully raped so the man can go free, please let's call a spade a spade, the military is wrong by going to lekki toll gate for any reason... I didn't justify anyone's actions in my post.. My own is let's hear all sides of the story, ask reasonable questions and ensure justice is served. |

I see a lot of people have already made up their mind that whatever they say is a lie. This shows how gullible most Nigerians can actually be, what happened to the principle of "audi alteram partem" it's bad enough that both sides have already gone against the part of equity that says "he who comes to equity must come with clean hands" the people recycled old pictures and videos claiming it was from the night of 10-20-20, the military also claimed they were never there, 2 wrongs.
At this point, it's only wise to detach yourself from previous judgements you might have made and hear both sides, their truth and their lies (which I trust we'd all be smart enough to discern). |

uche87: In the last 5 years that I have been analyzing public affairs online, I have never seen a government struggle so hard to manage a crisis, like the Lekki Shooting incident of the 20th of October.
The Nigerian government has been using a big lie to cover another very ridiculous one since the ill-fated occurrence happened. It is as if the government has forgotten to apply its brakes on its adventure of falsehood, as several concerned agencies brace up to lie their ways out of the scandal. Nigerians are no fools; they know the truth, and they knew from day one. The leaders know the people are aware of those responsible for the shooting, but they don't seem to care. What they are doing is a mockery of the intelligence of the general public.
Again, it is sad that she is receiving death threats. Who are the people that want her dead and what is their ultimate goal? Only time will answer both questions.

People who still use that phrase need to be emancipated from mental slavery.
The term "saner climes" is nonexistent the only thing we have is saner minds. Guys that know what's right and when to do/say it. This are the people that actually push for change in their society. But here in Nigeria, the not so sane minds force their way into power with the help of their compatriots and the sane minds go into hiding avoiding any chance of acquiring power(understandably). |

That's wrong Why did the governors of Edo and Lagos state impose curfews in their state? Edo even did that days before 20-10-20. The protest went from peaceful to violent 3 days into the protest. You blocked major roads, cursed anyone who dares to challenge your reason for doing so saying they should also join the movement because this is a fight for all (very true). Then every Tom, Dick and Harry joined the movement not minding that it would be impossible to control how they choose to express themselves. The so call thugs and hoodlums brought themselves together on the mainland like their counterparts at the Lekki toll gate, took revenge on police men that have been tormenting them for years, burnt stations to the ground, block inner street and only making way when you "drop something for the boys". I could go on and on but I hope you get it now. |

The PDP (APC played the same card in 2012 although strategically) Good question Thugs in Edo didn't just attack protesters, they use the absence of police officers to rob protesters in broad daylight. In Lagos they use the opportunity to set up toll gates on a lot of roads and streets in Lagos, requesting as high as 1000 naira just to let you pass. They also took revenge on police officers that have been exploiting them for years. Go to Mushin and hear what those boys have to say about some of the officers and how happy they were to have dealt with some of them.
