RomanceMen How Would You React If Your Wife Took A 2nd Husband? by Jbenue(op): 12:33pm On Mar 21, 2015
There has been a lot of talk on the forum about marriage and polygamy but it is only fair we discuss this aspect that is not usually discussed. Women taking more than one partner is prevalent in some cultures around the world and with increased globalization it may become prevalent in Nigeria in the near future. So men how would you react if this happened to you?

I am trying not insult you anyway...but be sure this will be my last reply to you on this issue....
Whatever your brain is telling you that's making you to puff and insult me doesn't hold water in any court of competent jurisdiction here...We run by our constitution not by our hearts or any moral dictum...full stop...you can deride yourself by conjuring whatever analogy that makes you happy...CONSTITUTION IS SUPREME AND GUIDES OUR DAILY ACTIONS & INACTIONS...

From your link; we shall have a PRESIDENT not a head of state or whatever you wanna conjure and defend here to massage your ego of claiming high cognitive reasoning...or the essay you keeping bordering me with.... Go back to where you started calling Jonathan head of state and see how wrong and how right you are....Intelligence isn't by LONG essays, empty rhetorics and unending spewing of grammar... SIT DOWN AND RE-EXAMINE yourself...enjoy bro....

BTW we practise presidential system like america with executive (president), legislature(bicameral)& judiciary like USA...unlike Britain that practises monarchical system...thanks

Ignorance is always bliss.... Let GEJ go ahead with fighting corruption by pardoning everyone and anyone convicted of corruption. Heck he can fight homicide by pardoning all convicted murderers aswell.

You like arguing ooooooooh President Jonathan is Head of state, Chief Executive, C in C and a facilitator of Corruption.

GOOD DAY SIR I hope you gain knowledge one day.

Whynotthetruth:
First, countries are run based on CONSTITUTION not MORALITY... So once it is constitutional; whatever you are saying is your own palava...so don't ever insult Jonathan when what he's doing is constitutional whether you like it or not...our constitution wasn't tailored to please you or anyone in particular...
Nigeria's democracy is tailored after that of America...it has nothing to do with our colonial masters system of government... Kindly show me any document(s) where Jonathan is referred to as a head of state instead of presidenthuh...
Note, that our system of government is presidential system borrowed from America where executive power is concentrated on one person unlike in UK where we have a ceremonial head as queen and prime minister as head of state or whatever... thanks

Your comprehension skills are very low. I really shouldn't be trying to debate with a person who basks in self ignorance. GEJ has the legal right to pardon BOKO HARAM's leader if he is ever caught and convicted. Should he? Of course not!!!

You are a teacher of class of children you are constantly warning them not to cheat because cheating is rampant in the school and they are very good at hiding it. You finally catch one student in the act. But in front of the whole school you let him go scot free because he/she said sorry sir. What message does that send to the children of the school? THINK USE YOUR HEAD. Don't defend what cannot and should not be defended.

You like mentioning the constitution per chance you might take a glance at it one day.

Chapter VI

The Executive

Part I
Federal Executive

A - The President of the Federation

130. (1) There shall be for the Federation a President.

(2) The President shall be the Head of State, the Chief Executive of the Federation and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federation.

131. A person shall be qualified for election to the office of the President if -

(a) he is a citizen of Nigeria by birth;

(b) he has attained the age of forty years;

(c) he is a member of a political party and is sponsored by that political party; and

(d) he has been educated up to at least School Certificate level or its equivalent.

And yes The USA did emulate the British in there use of a Head of State. I really don't know why you are arguing this matter? But then again why does a Goat charge a tree?

YES it is constitutional and legally done but does it send the right message? Answer that! Just because Buhari and APC did not object doesn't mean it was right, PDP and APC are two sides of the same rusted coin.

Just do simple research before you start arguing for no reason, not everything is an open invitation to argument. Quote from Wikipedia "The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria is the head of state and head of the national executive of Nigeria. The President of Nigeria is also the commander-in-chief of the Nigerian Armed Forces."

We borrowed the idea of a head of state from the British who run a constitutional monarchy in which the monarch is head of state, an office that represents national unity and national identity otherwise known as the sovereign while the Prime minister the the head of the monarch's royal government. Same with the USA OBAMA is the head of State as the sovereign and the Head of Government. Kai ignorance is rampant in this country and just to take simple correction gini!

Whynotthetruth:
Plz shun this long essay because you're getting it all wrong...
1)According to our constitution, a person is NOT guilty till convicted by court of competent jurisdiction...
2)Jonathan has the singular duty of respecting, protecting and governing with ONLY the constitution...
3)A person can only be entitled to presidential pardon having been convicted by a court and served out his term and is found to been of good carriage afterwards... (nothing is debatable here)...
4)Jonathan is NOT a head of state. He is an elected president.
5)Every other thing you wrote is sermon on morality not constitutionality... Know the differences and quit accusing people ignorantly...
Diepreye Alamieyeseigha was convicted by I court of Law on fraud was he not? So what is not clear about that and then he was PARDONED by his political protege Jonathan. If you are serious about fighting corruption what message does this send out? Don't just blindly support Jonathan in this, he was wrong to pardon this man on amoral level. I know it is well within his right as president to pardon Alamieyeseigha, however it was an unscrupulous and ridiculous decision for him to do so, given the already corrupt mentality of Nigerian public office holders. IT SENDS OUT THE WRONG MESSAGE.

Perhaps you did not know but the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria is bothe Head of State and Head of Government. Educated yourself sir.
PoliticsRe: Gmb's System Of Fighting Corruption $ Gej's Which Is Better by Jbenue: 6:12pm On Mar 20, 2015
Whynotthetruth:
Presidential pardon is constitutional and is meant for criminals and looters not for saints and good citizens bro...it is granted by state council which buhari and all APC governors are members...it cannot be granted if they don't support it...
Finally, how can we fight corruption better in your own understandinghuh
Yes we all know pardon are for criminals. Whether the right to pardon should even be exercised when a court of Law has convicted a person is a debate in itself.
As the head of state and the head of government perception in everything you carry out is key. If corruption has been identified as Nigerias greatest problem by the president, and most be stopped at all cost. When a high profile person who happens to be a sitting governor is cuaght red handed and convicted this sends out a message that corruption will not be tolerated. But what GEJ did in his capacity as head of state and government in pardoning a convicted fraudster severely undermines this message of zero tolerance for corruption. It may even embolden future public office holder to engage in corrupt practices and gives the perception that you may truncate the laws of the nation as long as you are well connected.

What is troubling is that if the Chadian, Nigerian or Cameroonian wanted to annex any part of Nigeria viz a viz Russia Crimea, they could easily do it as they seem to have greater military strength than we have at present. I always used to laugh when I read how a small nation like Rwanda could dominate a giant like the DRC but I am not laughing now.

GEJ till we are an International laughing stock!
PoliticsRe: Gmb's System Of Fighting Corruption $ Gej's Which Is Better by Jbenue: 2:55pm On Mar 20, 2015
Ask a fish what comes to mind when he hears the name Nigeria, it will say corruption! Everyone knows that the cancer eating at the heart of this country is corruption and since the return to democracy in 1999 every politician running for the top job in the nation, has campaign on the premise of tackling corruption. Yet as we know all too well words are wind, we have seen minimal efforts, token gestures and down right indifference to actually solving this acute Nigerian sickness.

So when something does actually happen and high profile arrests are made and convictions are enforced the whole nation and the greater world takes notice to see whether this is a turning point in this diseased nation. That was the case when Diepreiye Alamieyeisegha was arrested in the UK on money laundering charges in 2005 and later convicted for said crimes. However in an unprecedented move the President Goodluck Ebele Azikiwe Jonathan who happens to be Diepreiye Alamieyeisegha protege pardoned this convicted fraudster on grounds that he had shown sufficient remorse in 2013.

This man that goes on international television to embarrass perennially saying how he inherited a corruption nation and how he is doing his utmost to curb it. In that one act of pardoning a convicted and proven thief President Jonathan has done more to undermine the fight against corruption than any other Head of State in this nation history. But yet it seems Nigerians have short memories, in any other country this one act would render any public figure ostracized and lacking in credibility. To move Nigeria forward we must stymie the flow of unaccounted monies from the coffers at state and national level before we can talk about improving infrastructure and social development, Jonathan has demonstrated his indifference and unwillingness to carry out this critical task.

Its funny how Nigerians dont think. What ever people say the population is growing too fast for the economy, thus more people will be left in poverty. If a rich man eho has 4 children by one woman already takes another wife and has 4 more kids he is selfish as his extra kids will be using services that could otherwise go to another family. If a pooer man has 4 kids and takes another wife has more kids his is an idio.t and selfish he cannot afford to take care of his first progeny yet he goes and inflicts poverty on more innocent souls.

like I said, your useless post is condemning the job of the military indirectly. do you expect a town to be like a beautiful garden after it has undergone such fire power exchange? what's your point on this your clueless research please? I'm judging from your title down to your last paragraph.
see the way you respond to people, you act like you are intelligent the way you speak meanwhile it's an irony. get better things to do, or March to the barracks and stage a single man protest! make your voice known that they should try better to make their rocket launchers and machine guns and other fire arms hit their targets and not 'properties ' #smh
also, ehen!!! was it security personnels fighting themselves?are you not suppose to also go visit that village and investigate further as a 'wanna -be journalist '?
what's your point in creating this thread son?
No my useless post is condemning the military directly, you obviously have not watch the documentary or read eye witness accounts of what you are talking about. You keep talking of "properties" as if the army were making surgical strikes on BK targets and there is collateral damage in near by unintended buildings. Noooooooooooooo!!!! Inform yourself before you speak not everything should is an invitation to haphazard confrontation, I'm making a point on this platform as is my right so spare my your scatter-gun reproaches,

The Nigerian army is killing Boko Haram and Non Boko Haram indiscriminately not in the confusion of battle but in ill conceived trials by habitation and association. I urge you watch the documentary before spewing non sense.

You are too confrontational take time to explore the other parameters of your brain, it is a most powerful organ that has more uses than sniffing for and dishing out insults.
