Thank you so much!

geotherm:

1. In the first application she paid a deposit of 10k CAD half of her tuition and showed #3 million naira tuition.
2. In this application one of our brother in Nigeria deposited into her account #6 million and gave her a deed of gift and a support letter of sponsorship.
3. Then we added pictures of her husband and son (Family pictures to the application.
4. A strong support letter from employer
5. We addressed each of the comment raised from the GCMS into two sections: Personal Asset (Landed properties from her and her husband, Secured job, Financial status ( 36k CAD including deed of gift and tuition deposit). Family Ties (her husband and son)

Congratulations to your sister!!
What did she do different in the new application if you don’t mind mentioning regarding the funds?

geotherm:
My Sister got a refusal letter: I have applied for GCMS. Two reasons:
1. Financial status and Asset: she paid half of the tuition $10k and showed statement of account N3.5m. I guess these are not enough. For assets she showed landed asset with no valuation.
2. Family ties in Canada stronger than that of Nigeria: Her husband and son are not coming with her, so what other family ties. Yes she has 3 brothers and a sister in Canada.
Application Date 17th February, upfront medical, new portal, Nairobi visa office, refusal letter today.
I need suggestions while I wait for her GCMS.

If you remember the message above posted in May 2022. Thanks for the support from this forum gurus we got GCMS and applied second time timeline:

1st Application Feb 12, denied May 30.
2nd Application Oct 3 2022 Medical Passed Jan 17 2023, eligibility review same day. Original Passport request and BVL Jan 26 2023.

Thanks family. I wish all of you best in your pursuit for Canadian dream

Hello everyone,
Just received my notes and eligibility indicates review required, does anyone know what that means? Should I be worried?
Has there been anyone whose notes indicated that and they got PPR?
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 22 by JCrystal: 1:15pm On Dec 09, 2022
Hello,
Anyone know which visa office is CORR?
I saw someones GCMS notes with the secondary visa office indicated CORR, so I am just curious to know which one it is.

I sent 20 mails from 6am to 3pm with 30 minutes interval daily to all the emails i got from this thread and also sent webform twice daily. I did this from Monday to Thursday and i got ppr on thursday.

Thank you so much for the response. How far along was you application at this point?
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 22 by JCrystal: 6:46pm On Dec 04, 2022
For all that found emails and webform to get a reaction from IRCC, could you kindly approximate how many you sent and how many times a week you did? Also, did you send multiple webforms a day?
This also applies to anyone sending emails and webform awaiting for reply.
The wait is getting to me
Thank you!!

Hello folks,
My eligibility review has been running for more than a month now. In fact, a I am confused as to why the long time as most reviews take less than a week before the ppr.
This waiting is tiring, since August 1.

My eligibility began on October 15th. More than a month too. I was worried why it takes so long compared to what I see here.

I think this would be a great step too since there is nothing to loose by requesting a reconsideration.
You can also initiate the payment of the rest of the fee and attach it to the reconsideration (not sure if it works this way) just to rule out their concern on finances.
If the reconsideration is denied you refire.
But all on you time and when you are ready! No pressure!

teewahlorlah90:
So sorry about the refusal. I will advice you go for reconsideration. Send an email to Nairobi visa office explaining how you met their concerns. Then await their response. All the best

Breaking News!!!

My application was refused this afternoon based on purpose of visit, insufficient funds and asset lol.

I'm going for a year course, tuition is 18,000 Cad out of which 10,000 Cad has been paid remaining 8,000 Cad.

I am self sponsor and going with 2 of my kids

Bank statement of almost 20M provided, pay stubs, employment letter, confirmation and promotion letters, my CAC documents registered 7 years ago, land documents valued at 30M etc.

I appreciate your well wishes and prayers.

I gave this application my best but sadly, it was not enough.

I am about to order for CBSA note to really understand their reasons for refusal.

Thank you all

I wish everyone still expecting PPR good news

Cheers

Hello everyone!!

I would really appreciate insight on how to go about this:

I got admission for January intake which I plan to submit study permit with but I need some suggestions on how to go about the proof of funds:
Part of the proof of funds was gotten from sale of land which is a lumpsum and having gone through this forum I find conflicting advice on using sale of property as evidence of source of funds:
I have two options:

Option 1: Since the sale was in June, I can wait it out till October when the lumpsum from the sale will not be reflected on the bank statement. The catch here is I feel I will be quite late applying for study permit against January considering the wait times to get reply from IRCC

Option 2: I could pay my whole tuition fee (it is a one year program) and have my parent transfer all the living expenses to me then explain it in my SOP and back it up with all the necessary documents. This gives me the option to apply early.

I also wasn't quite sure if using Option 2 I'd still have to submit my parent's bank statement after payment of fee and transferring living expenses.
I'll appreciate anyone's suggestion regarding this @anon123 @justmellow @lekiboboe @makano @Frankrobbn1

Thank you as I await your responses!!

Hello everyone,

I need urgent advice. I just got admission to Canadore College and I am to pay the admission deposit very soon. However, I really have not seen the school mentioned here much. Does any one have any comments or knows anyone that got visa applying with the school?

Thank you.

No I didnt. I only addressed it in one of the IMM forms which asked if I av been refused visa to any country before and the reason if yes .

I appreciate this. Could you kindly state the reason you gave if you don’t mind since I am in such a situation and the U.S embassy didn’t give a concrete reason apart from the 214(b).
