twinskenny: Another thing is the kitchen cabinets covered almost 70 percent of the wall… the tiles at the back of the cabinet is a waste to me… #personal Opinion though Am happy, knowing that am not alone. Few weeks back we had this argument about tilling the whole kitchen wall, everyone I asked, told me that's how it's been done. I said why would I spend so much money to tile the whole area and then later cover it with cabinets. I told them to do what I wanted after all my current house does not have tiles all over the kitchen walls. |

Bukuns2000: Sorry, how did you know there was a charge back, did the agent tell you? Because these agents will never disclose anything. We also have her logging details. So, we knew whenever she got an update |

Opsy14: Hi congratulations to your niece... Please what's this charge back for and what's the procedural fairness about? Did the embassy request any documents after she got the charge back? Charged back was on the $235 application fee paid by the agent. She was asked to explain why there was a charged back in the first Place. No, they didn't request for any document. But we supported the explanation letter with verifiable documents. |

My niece got her PPR today. Her application was given to an agent to assist her by her parents since i was very busy back here, unfortunately she got a charged back leading to procedural fairness submission in August and this made me to take total control of her application. Am sharing to encourage someone who is in the same situation.

olasubomy: Hi Jeff,
You need to transmit the documents to IRCC electronically.
Remember the process you took when you initially submitted your application, and you clicked next to make payment and signed electronically with your name before submitting your application. You would need to follow that same process to transmit it to IRCC. The only difference here is that you are not making any payment.
Once you do that, the status on your additional document section on your GC key would change to acknowledge receipt of your document.
All the best. Thank you, it's for my niece. It's been submitted. |

Amenmay: Patocypher: Calm down, you have not committed any crime . Before responding, contact your agent to get details as to why the payment was reversed. This is a very serious issue. The procedural fairness letter Is not a matter of another person writing or drafting it for you. Your agent knows the true story about the chargeback. Just contact your agent and tell IRCC the truth in your explanation letter and attach proof if you have any. Another person who does not know much about the chargeback might assist you in writing it and you will land yourself into trouble. The same letter was sent to me on july 31, 2021 to Specially, Provide an explanation as to why the debts to the crown were incurred. I told them the whole thing because i used an agent and attached the proof i have with me and reply. Please pack your luggage and run away from Agent. Thats one of the disadvantages of using Agent. Is something you can do yourself. It's well.. I have sent you an email, will like to chat with you. Please respond, so that I can send you my contact number. Thanks |

Jobs/Vacancies › Re: Do You Regret Leaving Your Lucrative Nigerian Job For Abroad Menial Job by jeffdaniel(m): 2:06pm On Jul 05, 2021 |
CountVersailles: Let me tell you a story.
My brother left school and job prospects in Nigeria and went abroad. He had a student visa, some dollars and was expecting a relation to pick him up at the airport. That was about it. When he got to the airport in Houston, no one was there waiting to pick him up. In fact, the relation called him and told him to start heading back, that he has no interest in having him around. He had nowhere to sleep. Hustle started. He had to go to the branch of our Nigerian church in Houston to beg to sleep. They pitied him and accommodated him, and allowed him to leave on the chairs of the church for a week until he got a restaurant job. He contemplated coming back home and in fact bought a ticket, took a taxi to the airport, but changed his mind at the last minute. Resolving to stay back, he intensified his "hustle", working in restaurants where they treated him like shit and started going back to school.
Five years later, he is now employed in two places, making north of $120k as a software developer. Planning to start his own company and offer jobs to his developer friends he left back in Lagos, many of whom are still struggling to find a good job. In fact, some of them are now working for him (online). He got his green card legally, and planning to marry soon.
What am I saying? Most Nigerians give up easily when they go abroad. Abroad is not a bed of roses. You have to work, have to show a strong desire to succeed. Nothing is going to be handed to you on a platter. For many Nigerians who have had it easy before travelling out, this is often difficult to understand. They find that they can't cheat the system. No lecturer will collect money from you to bump your score. You suddenly can't enter a bus without paying by lying to the conductor that you lost your money. Those tricks with which you survived in Nigeria no longer work. You have to learn new tricks. This is the part where many people fail and is probably the only lesson here. Whether you are in Nigeria or abroad, you have to show a desire to succeed given your environment. IF this desire is not there, failure awaits! Like someone mentioned in the first or second page, traveling abroad is always good for someone who is single and under 30. I always tell my friends that have families and are doing well in Nigeria that there's no point coming abroad. You don't leave all your connections and traveled to uncertainties. The truth is if you moved abroad legally, it takes you a minimum of 3 to 5 years to settle down provided you followed and do the right thing. |

Ibk2020: pls someone should help here I think you should be able to beat it down a bit, for a 3 bed bungalow. The woodwork seems right, 12mm should be enough for the roof beam, depends on what your structural drawing says anyway. So, negotiate the workmanships for woodwork 70K and concrete may be 50K. Also see if you could save some from materials. I will say maybe around 650K to 700K in total. Sheers. |

neurosci: And you know what's funny? I can tell you that no girl will ever frown at you here! I have never seen an oyibo guy or girl frown at me or anyone else EVER since I came here. Unless you do something extremely terrible. The weirdest part is, even when you offend them or say something mean, they will still smile at you. But if you take that for friendship, you're on a lonnnng thing. In fact, my first culture shock when I arrived in the US was the smile. Right from the airport in New York, there was this girl who just kept smiling at me. Initially, I thought maybe she knew me from somewhere, but it was less than an hour since I arrived so she couldn't have known me anywhere. But she just kept smiling. Bro, I can write a whole book about this smile issue in America. But trust me, all that smile na wash. I would rather earn someone's smile than get a fake smile. Honestly, since I've been abroad that fake smile is one thing that I hate. Whenever I see any of them throwing a fake smile at me, I quickly changed my face to let them know that it's not welcome. If you've lived abroad long enough, you would recognize and know the things behind those smiles sometimes. In those days, I have seen foolish men sent to jail over their fake smiles. Ignore the other guy, he doesn't know what he was saying. |

Mcslize: Don't reply with a different account. I know it's you Neurosci.
You simply scared of talking to white girls maybe that's why.
It's nobody fault. Try and reach out to people irrespective of their color. Low self esteem is the greatest disease of the black race.
There are many threads here on Nairaland that will teach you how to talk to girls. E.g Hardon thread. Then if you don't want to be a woman wrapper, check out Glycolysis thread. They are all insightful. Stop being scared of talking to white girls. They won't bite you. Bro. Be smart and listen to those guys up there. I've seen Nigerians get into trouble because they are trying to be friendly with the opposite sex. Where I was working there was this Nigerian guy, I believed he's not been around for too long. He got into trouble because he was getting too close to this white lady. The company fired him, God saved him they didn't call police that day. So, you may not be lucky doing most of the things you can get away with in Nigeria. |
