I’d read up on this and apparently there was an ongoing strike on the day of his operation between nurses and doctors so instead of Jean-Pierre returning to the hospital another day, they put him on anaesthetic which was meant to numb him a few hours but instead they starved his brain of oxygen and because there was a strike going on, the anaesthetist was overseeing eight other patients and worsening the situation, a trainee put him on the wrong bed.
