Nowadays, anything I read a supposedly TRUE story on Nairaland and see there's and accompanying image or picture along with the text, I just laugh at the unauthenticity. Like, who playfully attaches an image to a personal story posted on a forum? Fake News. |
Sports / Re: Chelsea Calls Off Pursuit, Osimhen to remain in Napoli by jelel6: 11:18pm On Aug 30 |
Chelsea signing unnecessary wingers this season is truly unforgivable. Next season, Chelsea should chase one striker and one striker only: Alexander Isak. Nicholas Jackson's only problem is that he doesn't know how to strike the ball with conviction. Virtually no power behind his strikes. Such a shame. Because he's a very very good player overall. 3 Likes |

Pretty sad and unfortunate that the P-Square group fell apart publicly. They were my favourite Nigerian musicians. I don't even know the genesis of their quarrel but it seems they were unable to manage their successes together and appreciate each other's contributions towards that success. And maybe they allowed family matters got involved with business and their careers to a detriment. Initially thought Coldplay was Chris Martin. And Maroon 5 was Adam Levine. Like, do I really care who's with the microphone as far as I'm getting good music? I don't believe people who listened to P-Square growing up actually cared who wrote or sang the songs. All we knew was that both were incredible entertainers who got us rocking. Funnily enough, after reading Paul's ramblings about the Ejaejo song with T.I, started listening to it again because I enjoyed it when it was released initially. Music evolves through the decades so you have to reinvent yourself as an artist. Besides, you can't peak twice so don't expect people to rock with your music like 15 years ago. Breakup or makeup nobody really cares - just do it gracefully. Like, nobody really gives a fucck mhen. 3 Likes |

Leemzyy: You see, same way I felt about you asking whether the school is better than yours (NTIC). I only highlighted that the school is "one of the best" in EDO STATE because an unfair narrative was being painted of spoilt kids showing off under the supervision of a clueless school. I may be uninformed, but I don't even think there's an NTIC in Edo state. So your question is an 🍏 or 🍊 type for me. |

Gerrard59: No doubt the school (UPSS) is top - most considers the best in Edo state. That's no small feat. @bolded. That's typical Nigerians on the internet for you. They hate what they love as much as they love what they hate. Children of wealthy parents are going out to celebrate a rare occasion, what are these people expecting them to rock? 2K dresses and overcrowded danfo buses? I see them overrating because they say it's "prom". Maybe they'll be alright if the school called it "gbedu" instead. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Very expensive school. But they try to educate their students beyond traditional academics. Their students are mostly the best when they compete in state wide competitions. 2 Likes 1 Share |
Food / Re: Chioma Okoli Released On Bail (Photos) by jelel6: 1:05am On Jun 02 |
Interesting read. I initially saw this case of chioma and a tomato paste brand on an article on probably CNN website but ignored it because I didn't want to deal with the negative feelings afterward. Now, I've read all the comments on this thread so I have a better idea of what went down. The major thing that didn't sit well with me was the fact that both the police and our courts are tools that work for the rich. How the woman was kept in jail for months before being found guilty is not right. Even a guilty sentence may not necessarily come with a jail term. (HEAVY) fine would be understandable. Because I don't think the treatment she's gotten so far would happen if she was a well connected and influencial person. Aside from that, I can't have any issue if the tomato brand wants to hold an individual accountable for their claim. That's the problem I have with people's acts and viewpoints today. Everybody wants to just do as they please and not be held ACCOUNTABLE. Everybody needs to learn something from this. Irrespective of the side you're supporting. |

JB0707: He loves you but apparently not enough to put your name where your sweat is? Where your money is? Then maybe love is not what you should demand from your husband right now but some fucking FAIRNESS. and a little bit more respect for his 'partner' in many ways, including retirement. Let the reality sink in: because of your husband's actions, you don't have any joint investment as it stands. What you have is a pillow talk agreement written in the sands despite your 50:50 contributions. The fact he didn't have your name on the ownership documents from the very beginning, without being told is unforgettable, in my books of FAIR PLAY. The fact he'd refused to retrace his steps and have your full name in all the documents after you have raised the issue is unforgivable, in my book of FAIR PLAY. Your husband may come up with a reason why he did this, but there's no valid reason worth the risk for you. Personally, I think it could either be one of the two potential reasons: 1. The Very Unintelligent Reason: Something so flimsy related to a man and husband's pride and ego of being the figurative and literal provider and showrunner of the family in the eyes of everyone. 2. The Intelligent Reason: This is the reason everyone can have but can't and wouldn't say it aloud. It's the 3D chess reason because it's all about the long game. When and IF it comes to push and shove, there'll only be one outcome. Both reasons are very risky for you. Don't be fooled by "LOVE". All men are capable of the second reason. Joint investment, joint ownership. In writing. In receipts. Better safe than sorry. 7 Likes 2 Shares |

It does make sense to me and as long as she's comfortable with her approach and you're happy to oblige, what can I say? Even though everywhere for good if to say you be doctor. scrupulousblog: I said SOME. Not All. It should be pretty obvious to you that that SOME wouldn't include virginity. A girl named Mary is a virgin until the moment she's not. But she's still Mary before and after. The point is those are not very difficult qualities to find in a woman in my opinion. I wonder if you think Virginity is the single hardest to find on the list. |

Those are not really difficult qualities to find or demand from a woman. Some are teachable, why she can grow into others if her partner is the right person. 1 Like |

Family / Re: Will I Regret Not Having Children by jelel6: 1:38am On Mar 29 |
Jman06: Unfortunately, I cannot fathom a world where everyone suddenly decides not to have children. Can you?
Hmmm. So, there's indeed a formula to your wants in children. Why not 1, or 10 children? This attitude of not wanting to birth children is alien to our culture and is typical of those who "wannabe" like oyibos. We have many of such people especially in the southern part of the country. Such people forget that the oyinbo people they wannabe like have strong healthcare system and old people's homes that cater for the aged. If Nigerians with our poor healthcare system and bad economy want to copy the western lifestyle of not wanting children, then extinction would catch up with us faster. If extinction is the fate of humans, I'm sure we all know which people would go extinct first regardless of their population. |
Family / Re: Will I Regret Not Having Children by jelel6: 4:35pm On Mar 28 |
I think to have or not to have children should be a MAJOR decision. Unfortunately, we have been programmed to get a Job, marry, and have children. Me included. So what should have been a major decision to make ends up being trivial. But there's nothing trivial about birthing, raising, and caring for children. Not every person in the world is going to be able to commit to, and then have the capabilities to shoulder such responsibilities. Fact is, if Nigeria was a less judgemental society. A few more people would be contented with the happiness and pride they find in other sources besides children. 1 Like |

Reading the comments, it's clear to see that most people who use wipes are less likely to wash their hands with soap afterwards. Because they really think the main benefits over those who uses water is that there's no direct contact between their hands and poo. So off they go! People who use water are more likely to wash their hands with soap and disinfectant because they know the smell may persists. I don't really care what any particular person uses to wipe their ass (after all, if no be doggystyle, OP for no discover the dog), Just make sure you wash your fucking hands. I was foolish to believe every adult would wash their hands after toileting. Sote washing hands after shitting come they linked to tribes and traditions again! 2 Likes |

femi4: Oh, because KPMG and Deloitte don't ask for payslip that means every other company must be doing the same. Is it illegal to ask in both the UK and Netherlands, certainly not. Company asks according to their own discretion. A lot more companies verbally ask your current renumeration during the course of your interviews with them, what you say, and the consequences of your reply about that is on you. It may not be as common again in other countries to ask about previous salary payslips, but still a possibility you get asked depending on the company till tomorrow. In Nigeria, it's even a miracle if the big corporates don't ask. Nigeria is part of the world. It's standard practice until the law makes it illegal. |
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Top Things Not Required During Interviews. by jelel6: 3:58pm On Feb 29 |
Meerahbel: I'm not an HR. And I don't want any company asking for my payslip. However, them asking or choosing not to ask is neither obsolete or modern. It's just what it is: corporate norms. All over the world, it's standard practice. Especially in a world where two employees on the same level or team are likely to be compensated different according to their negotiating power. The candidate is always at liberty to refuse and tell the company to fuckoff though. I know most companies ask for payslip because of salary negotiations. However, it's just due diligence for others to ensure the candidate worked for a particular company and for the duration they claimed. It may look like the company holds all the advantage if they know what you're earning previously, but it's not always the case. |
