nikkypearl:Never get tired of reading success stories.. You may discover what will lead you to your own success! |
ednut1:This should have been your first comment then there won't be any need for me to quote you. Well said anyway. |
ednut1:The OP needs help like words of encouragement to push further and not hurtful words like yours.. We all have challenges of life in one way or the other but then how you manage to handle yours and come out of it may not be the same with the other person(s). The essence of him coming to share his problem here is to get advice and get encouragement or maybe a solution to his problems and not to be weighed down by hurtful words. People like you are the reason(s) why people don't share their problem for fear of rejection and compounding to their problems... I pray that you don't experience an inch of what he is passing through and if you do experience it I also pray you come out of it without considering suicide or something of that nature as your option and I also pray you have good friends that can help you go through it... I know you can do better.. Please be kind even when there is no need to be! |
KashyBaby:I blame the adults that carry out such explicit acts where kids are. Kids these days learn faster than they ought to and they don't forget easily. So when they learn things the next thing is either to ask questions repeatedly until they get the answer or they carry out an experiment. |
Oh God please come to our aid!
If it's like this now I wonder how it will be in the next ten years? |
Syncan:AMEN! And may your days be harm free, May God's light lighten your path, And may your endeavours be richly blessed. AMEN! Thanks for remembering me. |

chival:The discussion is on witches and wizards and so my last line is said within the contest of witches and wizards and not murders or suicide and so you can ask me questions on witches and wizards and not murders. Thank you. |
jnrbayano:I sight you bro. |
sonOfLucifer:Sure that they exist.. Yes Sure that they can cause misfortune.. Yes Sure that they can't take away life.. YES. Because you cannot take what you can't give. |
I believe that there are evil forces of witches and wizards but what I do not believe is that they can harm me or take away my life. They may have the power to bring misfortune or something of that sort but they don't have the power to take life. Such power has not been granted unto them. |
Seems the man has a flare for fair, beautiful ladies. |
Onegai:I understand you perfectly, but you will agree with me that sometimes kids of that age prefer to go around when the service is going on or if they are in a particular place. No matter how you quietly scold, spank or try to keep him or her to be quiet he/she will not and if you even try harder some will shout at the top of their voice leaving you with no option than to leave him and when they start crying that is a distraction not just to you the mother but to people sitting close to you and then you will resort to keeping an eye on him. Some kids are naturally quiet and some are not. The ones that are quiet sleeps or stays with their mum all through the service time and for the others they choose to pace around till when they are probably tired or cries for something. As for the woman that left her child to take your baby's toy she is just like the one that slapped the little boy because women like that will allow their child to get anything they lay their hands on not minding who owns that but then they will not allow another child to take their baby's own without giving the baby a spank or something. |
Ebayray:You know Nigerians na.. Once a commodity rises in price it will affect every other commodity. The rise in dollar is not affecting the akara ball but the beans used in making the akara. |
if am the one I will take the toy away from two of them, bring them close and pet them or maybe find something else to either give them or share between them (like snacks) in order for them not to cause a scene. beating the other child is not the best thing to do as it will somehow create enmity between the two mothers especially if the other boy's mum is seeing what is happening. As a mother sometimes there are times that beating another woman's child is morally justified but not in this scenario. She has no right whatsoever. If am the woman whose child was beating or spanked.. I won't do anything considering the fact that we are inside the church (even though I will be boiling inside). My only option will be to go and carry my baby, pet him and take him away from the scene. Next sunday, I will make sure I come with one of his toys, a snacks to keep him busy, a small children's chair for him and most importantly I won't allow him get too far away from where my hands will reach to draw him back if he wants to make a move. Because a second occurrence may not be too good for the ear. |
congrats to her. wishing her a longer marriage like that of Olu and Joke silver. Amen! |
Ebayray:My dear everything don cost for market. Just yesterday, my mum and I went to buy a bag of rice because our own finished last week. getting to where to we normally buy from, the woman told my mum that a bag of foreign rice is now 14,500. My mum was like for what kwanu.. The woman smiled and said "my sister na dollar oo, na dollar oo, na dollar cause am". she added with igbo "ihe niine di na ahia etinyesigo ego".My mum turned to me and said what do we do now because we didn't budget for that, if we insist on buying the rice it will affect the other things we want to buy. so I said to the woman "biko kedu maka abakiliki rice, odizikwe na ahia"? and she replied in the affirmative. and I asked again "ego ole" she replied 8,500. I said abeg no vex, bring one bag for us. My mum turned to me and said "nnem okwa oka mma?" I replied "foreign rice gbakwa oku". she burst out laughing. So na so we ditch the foreign rice to our local rice. so my dear ife niine etinyesigo ego even gala and bottle water, even akara ball of 6pieces 50 naira for my side is now 4pieces 50naira. Change.... oga ejuzu onye obuna ahu. |

abrahamind:Good evening Abrahamind.. Here is an answer to your question. firstly, I will like to correct an impression which I know fully well that it is what prompted this question... We catholics do not worship or adore any "graven images". And to your question... The Lord did not prohibit statues; he prohibited the adoration of them. If God truly meant that we were not to possess any statues at all, then he would later contradict himself. Just five chapters after this commandment in Exodus 20, God commanded Moses to build the ark of the Covenant, which would contain the presence of God and was to be venerated as the holiest place in all of Israel. Here is what God commanded Moses concerning the statues on it: "And you shall make two cherubim of gold; of hammered work shall you make them, on the two ends of the mercy seat. Make one cherub on one end, and one cherub on the other end; of one piece with the mercy seat shall you make the cherubim on its two ends" (Ex. 25:18–19). In Numbers 21:8–9, not only did our Lord order Moses to make another statue in the form of a bronze serpent, he commanded the children of Israel to look to it in order to be healed. The context of the passage is one where Israel had rebelled against God, and a plague of deadly snakes was sent as a just punishment. This statue of a snake had no power of itself—we know from John 3:14 it was merely a type of Christ—but God used this image of a snake as an instrument to effect healing in his people. Now come to think of it.. Why would God use these images of serpents, angels, palm trees, and open flowers? Why didn’t he heal the people directly rather than use a “graven image”? Why didn’t he command Moses and Solomon to build an ark and a temple void of any images at all? First, God knows what his own commandments mean. He never condemned the use of statues absolutely. Second, God created man as a being who is essentially spiritual and physical. In order to draw us to himself, God uses both spiritual and physical means. He will use statues, the temple, or even creation itself to guide us to our heavenly home. Psalm 19:1 tells us: The heavens are telling the glory of God; and the firmament proclaims his handiwork.” So you see, it is not wrong for us to bow at the images of Christ or his saints. it is not idolatry to look at the beauty of God's creation. bowing does not necessarily entail adoration like you and some others maybe thinking. we Catholics take very seriously the biblical injunctions to praise and honour great members of God’s family. we bow down to the images that represents God's family and we do that irrespective of what people will say or do. it is part of us, it started from time immemorial and it's not going to stop or end not even in the next world to come! Thank you! |
