kazuna: Thanks a lot Kaz, the SSS is truely amazing, just one click & the magic happened...! For the cloths, I simply duplicated the faces off of the body where I wanted the cloths to be. I had problems getting the straps, because I took a shortcut when I was modeling the body by not capturing the topological flow of the back & shoulders. So I had to rework the topology so that I could have the loops around the neck & hand opening of the shirt. After that, I just duplicate again & adjusted the proportions to get the second shirt. For the mohawk, I duplicated the top of the head as well, then extruded the mid point. I went ahead & pulled several points so as to get the spikiness at the top. I got a hair texture from Google image, but it was blond. I turned down the material's diffuse intensity to give a darker look & also adjusted the RGB of the texture to get the reddish color. After that, I readded the same image as a second texture, then changed it's saturation to 0 & then used it as a normal map. Finally I added the same image as a third texture, turned down its saturation to 0, but this time set it up as a specular map. |

Hello guys, towards the end of last year, I posted here that I was going to start learning Blender as I needed it for my school project. Unfortunately I had to let it go for a number of reasons. I'm more than happy that I can finally devote some time to 3D art now. Attached here, is my second attempt at character modeling, the first was last year when I was modeling for my project. To cut the long story short, it was hideous to say the least. I have always been fascinated with character modeling, so I'm gonna be spending the next months studying it in detail. For the veterans here, please critique & advice. I mostly just clicked my way through the internal renderer, I have no idea how the Cycles render works. So I'm totally open to all the advice you got for me, from the technicalities to the art itself. 1 Like 2 Shares

I believe nairaland's rule number 1 has been broken here. I have reported this to the mod already, it will be cool if all blender lovers here do same. I hope the mod cleans up this mess in time. |

Hello guys... A barely two weeks old blender noob here I intend to build a 3rd person game as my final year project, to do this, I realized I'd have to build some of the game assets myself....& that's how I found blender...! The last few days have been really exciting as I've been learning the basics of blender, using BornCG's tutorials: https://m.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLda3VoSoc_TR7X7wfblBGiRz-bvhKpGkS I've only seen 17 out of a total of 40 videos, it'll be great if the blender bosses (Shimish, kazuna et al) in the house can check out the playlist & comment on the outline... I guess I'd like to know if I'm learning blender in the most effective way Anyway, after watching those videos, I attempted putting some of the concepts to use... below is my very first attempt at 3D modeling & animation... Please comment, criticize, encourage, advice... etc https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BO0xVJWpsIw

Travel / Re: QATAR And UAE General Visa Enquiries by jereal(m): 9:24pm On Jun 30, 2015 |
Hello good people, I've seen this thread like a thousand times, but never really thought I was going to have any business with travelling to the UAE. I got an invitation to attend a programme in Abu Dhabi, I'll need to be there for just a night or two at most. The organisers emailed me today saying they were unable to secure a for me visa due to age restrictions. I did a little googling & found out Nigerian nationals below the age of 40 are no longer eligible for the UAE visa. I talked to the institution's local contact in Nigeria & I've been told that there's an agency that can help me with acquiring the visa, even though I'm under 40. I know going through agents is not encouraged here & confirming the genuineness of this agency is a different story all together. My question is, is it possible in anyway for an under 40 year old Nigerian to secure a visa & travel alone? I read some stories about how some people were removed even after boarding. |

Hello guys, It seems stanbic is winning hearts here, I use GT & of cos, their rates ain't so bad... But the major issue I have with GTbank is that I can't do interbank/intra-bank transfers on quickteller. I visited their branch once & asked why I couldn't do that, customer care told me that I'd have to get a token device or visit any of their branches whenever I wanted to do a transfer, as it will be done for me over the counter... Yeah, totally not cool... I'd like to know if I can do these transfers with stanbic... @stanbic account holders |

Guys so I got Pro Evolution Soccer 15, game is cool... But noticed lack of entrance scene and player substitution animation... I found a patch after a lot of googling & got the entrance cinematics working, but still no sub animation... Anyone notice this...? & know a way to get the animation up...? Not that it matters anyway, still love the game... |

Hi... Any assassin's creed fans here...? I just installed assassin's creed 3, & it's the first game in the series I'm playing... I've only played a few minutes & the game is looking like an open world setting...I was a bit surprised as I was expecting something like Prince of Persia... So for folks who've played, is this what the game is gonna continue like...? As I'm not much into open world games... |

What I intend to do is generate and print a report. I intend to design the report with Qt Creator, and then, sort of grab the form and print in A4 size. But I have a feeling I'm not going about it the right way... I saw QPdfWriter mentioned in a couple of places on the web, but can't quite figure it out. |
