alfajohn: I want to accumulate zenith bank shares for long term is it advisable to buy now or wait a bit. Some analysts are saying the bears are around the corner. Gurus in the house please advise. Nobody knows the future, it's just a best guess on the likely outcome. Once your criteria of value (maybe dividend yield and the like) is met, just buy in tranches |

Before February 2020, I knew zero about stocks, but I am currently 40% up on some of my investments with zero school fees. If that doesn't impress you nothing will.
It is a jungle alright but same rules ( risk-reward, TA, FA etc. ) apply. WOW! Impressive |

Mcy56: I don't always login to the mail o. Bros you'll have to read first. Try and read about 100 pages of this thread from here backwards, then read some pages from the earlier posts, from beginning to certain pages. You may have gotten most of the answers to your questions by doing so, then you can ask for clarifications where necessary. Ma'am @Mcy56, thank you for your selflessness in answering questions, especially from newbies. I know it's a lot to ask, but I think it will be great if you can create a separate thread exclusively to answer the most common questions, so whenever they ask you can just point them to that thread. To dey answer the same questions everyday is tiring, doh. I was introduced to this thread before page 1000, yet it took me several months to read through it. Since you are the resident encyclopedia on all things Morgan, a Morgan thread will also be welcome. Thank you. Keep up the good work. |

naturalflow: they say fpi drives our market,it will be expedient for me to trade along this line I.e if they are going out,I go out with them,if they come back,I come back with them.if I buy now when market is going down, what is the need since I can still buy lower latter. You are right, I get you. Do note that since you're following their trades your returns will always lag theirs. Just don't follow them off the cliff that's all. |

naturalflow: People still buying stocks?FPI that are running away you get sense pass them? Yes Both the buyers and sellers may be right, let me explain a little bit. Say I want to buy a car, the kind I will get will depend on a few factors: purpose (what I need the car for), budget (how much I have), location (will I have spares here, can it withstand potholes) ... Same for investments, what is your purpose? So what if FPI is bailing out because they forsee a fall in Naira (so when they convert to dollar it's less than before) they forsee difficulty in repatriating their dollars (since CBN may be short on dollars and will reserve it for the most pressing needs) maybe they just don't want to lag their contemporaries when the reports for next quarter come out (better to bail out as all other FPI's are bailing out) Now the question to you is, Is your purpose same as the FPI's? |

Lion123: Silly question: Is there any possibility that there will be no markdown on stocks this year? Because everything is ridiculously undervalued - especially the banks. Marking down shares at these prices would be wickedness. How a healthy bank that made N208 billion in 2019 (and has more than N900 billion in retained earnings), is trading at a N600 billion market cap (barely 3X earnings), is perplexing. So if your wife gives birth her weight will not reduce , because she will be too slim? |

maishai: If you bought your stocks on the exchange, go to the brokerage house and fill the edividend mandate there, plese use the form your broker gives you as there is a place for them to sign, also if you have problems with stuffs like shareholders number, they usually supply those nitty picky details for you faster than registrars........ Finally you would need a bankers confirmation of signature addressed to the registrar, If your brokerage house would submit to the registrar, please follow their instruction as this would save you cost of processing Bankers confirmation of Signature for the stocks in your possession Thank you |

Please house, I sent e-dividend mandate to Afriprud and they are asking for 1. Evidence of purchase of shares, and 2. Valid ID card They also said they don't have my specimen signature that I should liaise with my broker to process CSCS transfer form. Have those processes not been scrapped? I just decided to redo the e-dividend, because I registered on the portal through my bank, but all the others paid only them have refused to pay. Please what should I do next? |
