It's beautiful and tells a straight forward story. People can't keep fvcking up and living recklessly and not expect repercussions. One day, an 18 wheeler will serve poetic justice if they don't retrace their footsteps.
Yeah, you stated that you love stories with moral lessons. Well, if that is the case, you should stick to Nollywood and christian movies.

The movie is a "DYSTOPIAN ACTION THRILLER". Unfortunately it shows very little of the dystopia or future. How are people surviving without water? Why can't the water problem be solved with future technology? Compare this to Upgrade where a lot of futuristic technology is shown.

There is very little action and a lot of exposition. Also, a lot of plot holes- why isnt the son of the Wolf king a member of Artemis hotel? How did the son get to know about the other secret exit of the Hotel Artemis?

In fact, the only display of the future technology is in the hotel artemis with the medical equipment. Which is not even that futuristic as 3d printers already exist.

The movie is also short.

Here is another plot hole- how is it that only two staff (of Hotel Artemis) maintained peace between patients over the years? Where are all the other patients if the Hotel Artemis was fully booked as they claimed it to be?

Exactly how I feel. I made a huge mistake of not cross-checking on the Internet to see the ratings before I downloaded, now I'm left with rued decision. I can't believe I fell for its hype on this thread. SMH.

Hotel Artemis 5/10.

I fell for it too! The hype from this thread and the interesting trailer fooled me. Waste of mb!

There is. She said she can't fight people with male hormones, and yet she's doing just that atm. WWE may be scripted, but the stunts are real, as well as the injuries. It qualifies as a reality entertainment, just like MMA.
Koice? What did you just write?

Did you just compare WWE to MMA?

I will just assume that I didnt see that comment.

'Course it's understandable she would feel that way. She didn't want to be shown up for a fraud that she is. She's fighting men now in a scripted entertainment platform, isn't she? Doesn't that go against what she said? Or is it only when she knows men can't really hit her back, that it's convenient enough for her?
WWE is scripted, like you said. So, there is no contradiction.

Even if she did say she isn't a feminist, the way she carried herself, and trash-talked Floyd and men in generally contradicted her. Don't put much stock in what people say about themselves. For instance, what if I am to say I'm a feminist myself, would you believe me?
She said she wouldnt fight a transgender woman. That is, a man who changed sex to become a woman and want to fight women in the UFC.

Rhonda clearly accepts that there are physical differences between men and women.

I feel that you could have made your point without Rhonda Rousey.
TV/Movies › Re: What Movie Are You Watching Now? by JeromeBlack: 1:41am On Sep 29, 2018
Hotel Artemis was overhyped and overrated on this thread.

The movie is just a simple action movie that relies on too much dialogue and exposition. 5.5/10. Average

Believe it or not, there are such women out there. They actually believe whatever men can do, they can do it better. Remember Rhonda Rousey? She used to be one of those women, until Holly Holm (another woman) brought her back from fantasy.

PS: Everyone loves Scarlett.
Rhonda Rousey is not a feminist. She said so. Dont use people for your anti-feminist crusade.

Rhonda Rousey even said she had issues a transgender woman fighting in the womens UFC.

Yes, we do! We all need more of Natasha. She's easily one of the best Avengers.

We're guaranteed a good story for sure. Will be interesting to explore her world of espionage, and the interesting characters that make up that world. Think John Wick + Bourne + Atomic Blonde. She's a guaranteed box office.
Na Scarlett Johansson's ass dey confuse you?

Black widow is boring as f4ck. Outside her sexy skin tight costume, she is nothing.

What does she offer to the avengers? A tight ass? Even the arrow guy is more useful- At least, he can shoot explosive arrows.

Bros, biko go back to that posts and see if i have time to do any argument and trade insult and that wasn't the only review that was rejected. But i care less, its my personal opinion. Just as i disagree with some ratings here too. But does the ITKism do any justice? I keep quiet and move on. I dont need anybody's validation on my reviews. And yes, we learn from eachother when they are related in a mature way.

There's a way to state your opinion without demeaning words and stop imposing your opinions on people. Thats the point here.
Okay. I see your point.

But what about the things we learn from ITKism? Sometimes, I learn things from the arguments made here.

Do you know that there is no peace without war? Do you know that world war 2 led to the rise of television?

Let the arguments roll. (Without insults, of course)

Let this matter rest.

All the points mentioned can also be found in Upgrade but yet the said it was Sci fi first because the marketing company marketed it as Sci fi and I am saying that going by that logic, Get out isn't horror since its Marketing company for Get out also marketed it as Comedy and now as thriller.

The controversy around get out and the shape of water being tagged as horror movies has been there since last year. #fact
1. Not everything applies to upgrade as a horror movie. The soundtrack is more futuristic than creepy. It lacks an overall creepy atmosphere. It main themes are of a futuristic and technologically advanced society. That is why people here referred to it as sci-fi more than horror. Upgrade has elements of horror but it is mostly futuristic sci-fi.

2. Your argument rests on what the producers say about the film which is a fallacy of argument from authority. The producers of Ghostbusters claimed that people who didn't like the 2016 movie were sexists- that wasn't true and we shouldn't accept every nonsense a producer claims about his or her movie.

Thanks

Still wondering how the useless argument is worth it. 3 pages of nonsense argument. Enough of the insults.

Days where people post their personal ratings on movie and no one insulted them. But NO, some prefer forming ITK especially you, Koicereloaded. Beorn, you have also joined the bullying gang. Incase you haven't observed, people barely drop reviews to avoid being insulted. As for me, I care less about your bullshit opinion of my ratings.

Google is your friend.

Not everyone tagged Get out as horror.

That's what the controversy was all about when it came out.

Some said it wasn't horror while some said it is horror.

So don't think everyone supports your Get out is horror theory.

You guys should learn to do more research before making assumptions
When in confusion about the nature of something, we refer to definitions.

Here are key elements of a horror movie
1.1 Disturbing atmosphere
1.2 Creepy sound
1.3 Scenic scenery
1.4 Surprise Factor
1.5 The mysterious character or mystery of the evil one
1.6 Malicious force
https://www.caracteristicass.de/en/characteristics-of-horror-movies/

Get out has all the elements of a horror movie.

A documentary is non-fiction. Get out is clearly fiction.
Thriller is a broad genre. It overlaps with other genres- for example, we have action-thrillers, romantic-thriller, religious-thriller etc.

Saying that a movie is just a thriller is too vague.

You're missing the salient points. To break it down in its simplest form, Koice was trying to tell you that:

1. Get Out has its MAJOR/PRIMARY genre as HORROR before its sub-genre could be whatever you, the director or the award organizers decide to tag it

2. While Upgrade has its MAJOR/PRIMARY genre as SCI-FI before its sub-genre could be whatever you, the director or the award organizers decide to tag it.

I hope you got the difference?
Bro, I don laff tire. Koicereloaded is right. The guy is dumb.

A film can fit into many genres- but it will always have a primary genre.

Deadpool is a comedy but it will always be a superhero movie first. A superhero movie that fits into action/comedy.

This is simple to understand. Even though I might not show it, I have mad respect for you and koice. You guys take time to explain movies to dumb people- aside from your reviews.

If you're a big fan of ABBA, you'll enjoy the part 1 because while the storyline was weak to me, the classic ABBA ballads were strong enough to power it through, plus I think it's a "girlie" (I hope I'm not coming off as a sexist using that phrase) film. I think you'll love it. The songs got me reminiscing of my childhood days and made me remember it's been over 10 years since I last played an ABBA song.

Mamma Mia! 6/10.

I'll download the second part later today and see if it'll better than its predecessor.

You're wrong to assert such. Nigerians are way too superstitious, but other horror movies have been shown in the cinema too, so Get Out not coming out in our cinemas had nothing to do with superstition, that's if you're 100% sure the movie was shown in the cinemas in the first place.
Ogbeni keep quiet. Get out did not come to cinemas in Nigeria.

I watch all major movies at the cinema. That is my hobby. I waited for "get out" to come to Silverbird or genesis cinemas but it did not come out.

I think the evil dead remake too didnt come out as well.

Nigerians are too superstitious. This is why a lot of horror movies don't get shown in cinemas.

"Get out" didn't come out in Nigerian cinema. The first black horror Hollywood movie.

Yes, it's true some con men have taken advantage of the liberty Jesus Christ brought to us to deceive others, the very thing He warned us against.

It is absolutely disrespectful for you to make such a foolish statement against God.

I respect the patience and love of God, otherwise you won't live a day more!. It is foolishness to joke about what you don't know. Even Satan himself will not try the nonsense you said.

Note, if God is what you said, you do not exist!. F you exist, then God is wiser than all because the small brain and sense with which you use to attack His majesty, was given you by him. Who then needs who?.

Repent from this madness!.
This God that you are talking about, what do you really know about him?

Do you know what he looks like? No
Do you know what his voice sounds like? No
Do you know where he comes from? No
Do you know what his touch feels like? No

In short, you want me to respect a God that you know nothing about!

Like other believers, our own responsibility is to let you know the truth about life and teach you ways to leave a holy and santify life. And it is your own responsibility to believe and do or reject and condemn.
But it is in the records that you have been told.
And if you didnt tell me, it would have been okay for me to continue blaspheming? See how silly religious logic is?
