My cousin just out from secondary school was recently given admission to study medicine and surgery in madonna, even without his o' levels.
All he did was to go to the school, he bought and filled out their form (N6500). After that, he was there and then subjected to an impromptu written interview, which he passed easily, (he said it was very cheap and elementary). Then he was told to carry out and bring his lab tests at the nearby lab, and after submitting and filling other forms, he was told to pay his school fees and start school as soon as possible.
Now we all know how hard it is to gain admission, not to mention medicine and surgery and add to that the recent withdrawals of accreditations of the medicine department of various schools.
So i want to know if their is anything phony about the admission, if the school have/ever had, accreditation to study medicine and what their academic programme is like. Do students graduate at expected time?e is like. Do students graduate at expected time?

He told me he prefer 'hustling' than working for 10hrs dailay for like 2 years without anything to show. He is a qualified civil engineer with a lot of experience. Do you think he's making the right moves? My main concern is, if things should go wrong, i will be the one to shoulder his needs and i wouldn't want to be doing that, though as a friend, i can/have help him on a different occassions but i dont know how long before he will be back on his feet. there are two way to it,pls where the location of the land will determine the statutory fees/taxes/assesment to be paid to the Government which is standard,,furnish me with the location,then we can now factored in our services/running charges to arrive at the price

The following documents are required for both Consent and C of O
1.Copy of purchase receipt popularly called Family receipt/letter
2. 5 copies of signed title deeds
3.Proof of stamp duty payment
4.Your tax clearance for owner and family that sold the land
5.5 copies of registered survey plans ( 2 cloths copies and 3 papers copies)
6.Copy of land information certificate from Lagos State surveyor general's office
7 . foto of the land involved (it is assumed there is no property on the land)


These are just like basic things say like foundation that need to be done before the full processing of both documentation can start,meaning that if you have not done any of this process,we need to start from the scratch,but if yes we will start running immdtly. The consent letter is guarantee at most 4 months,but the C of O is a bit delay because at a stage Land bureau dept will need to do a publication on the numbers of lands  to be registered in the paper,and Goverment people normally  delays this publication to allow more  to be published,like 4 example we are processing 5 presently,that ordinarily it supposed to have been published in may, can u imagine it was publish in july 2 months after,nobody has any influence on that, but conservatively 6-7 months max C of o Should come out all things being equal.

How much does it cost?

That is a huge number. Non immigrant visa fees is about $150 and immigrant visa fee is $355. If you do the maths with some assumptions (say 10% are immigrant visa), thats a lot of $$$.

10% 0f 100,000 = 10,000 (10,000 X $355 = $3,550,000 weekly)
90% of 100,000 = 90,000 (90,000 X $150 = $13,500,000 weekly)

This means the US embassy in Nigeria is generating an average of $17,050,000 weekly or $68,200,000 monthly.

This translates to N11,253,000,000. This is a BIG Wao! About N11B monthly!

I hope this number of applicants is just an assumption!

Certificate of occupancy is issued by the state governments and this officially leases Lagos land to you, the applicant, for 99 yrs. So what happens after the 99 yrs? Answer is still up in the air.

Accoding to the official Lagos State website, the procedure for obtaining C of O is a straight forward process. This is NOT so in reality. WHY?

WORK FLOW FOR STATE LAND CERTIFICATE OF OCCUPANCY
•Applicant purchases and submits application pack to LUAC and collects acknowledgement slip.

•Day Applicant collects letter of offer of allocation•Applicant pays for allocated land (within 90 days).•Applicant issued with letter of confirmation with plot and block number. (Full payments must be made before Plots & Blocks are allocated)•Scheme Officer processes application for C of O, signs off on the file and forward files to ES LUAC. 5 Days•Surveyor General provides Scheme Officer with digitized survey � 2 Days•ES LUAC approves processing and signs letter of allocation. ES LUAC signs off on the file, send file to the Senior Special Assistant to His Excellency (Lands), (SSA Lands). 2 Days•SSA (Lands) vets entire file and sends file/application with a covering memo to the Permanent Secretary Lands Bureau (PS Lands) � 2 Days•If file has a query, message is relayed back by notification•PS Lands signs off on the memo and sends file to His Excellency � 2 Days•His Excellency approves file and electronically signs the C of O � 2 Days•If file has a query, message is relayed back by notification

•Upon approval and signing of C of O by His Excellency, H.E signs off and sends file to the Deputy Registrar for further processing � 2 Days•Deputy Registrar processes file further, signs off and sends file to Registrar of Titles for final registration � 2 Days•Registrar of Titles registers the C of O, signs off and request for printing of C of O. � 1 DayTOTAL NUMBER OF DAYS = 21 DAYS
