Fashola is an ! He is a big fool! What is his business with landlords? He should go peg the price of cement and other building materials. This Fashola guy is only trying to push tenants away from Lagos because Landlords will increase rents before admitting new tenants. This fashola guy will spend all of tax payers money in paying state judges and lawyer fighting tenant/landlord cases.

Although I cannot quote the number of feet it is, I only hope I am not underquoting. This number includes the cement for the steps, the archs, the outside sitout, the parapet formation and a cantelever beside the kitchen store. My own decking ate up around 120 bags if am not mistaken, and you cannot compare this house to mine in terms of size. I think am being modest with that figure, hoping it will not consume more than that. Also look at the 3d projection of the house as prepared by kkonsults.

I don't think that is the reason, it's more of a price and demand thing. The distance between the U.S and Australia is far greater than U.S and Nigeria but you still see cheaper direct flights to Australia compared to Nigeria.

I do understand all the aviation related taxes and fueling. Why is Iberia atleast 30% cheaper than all the other airlines on the same route? It is greed and selling of name rather than service. Honestly people should stop patronizing them on these routes to bring down their prices.

*** People should stop flying all these expensive airlines to drive down their price. Why will someone fly BA, Lufthansa, KLM, AF United etc from LOS to ORD, JFK, IAD etc for more than $1800 on these airlines? Iberia will take you to these places for less than $1200.
*** These airlines fly to other countries like China for around $800. Why are they expensive to and from African countries?

This is a joke. OP, anyone that tells you that you can marry and live with a modern-day Nigerian woman on N45,000 is deceiving himself. Ask them to tell you how they much they are earning and whether they are on the same unrealistic budgets as you see above.

Let me single out the woman's N5,000 upkeep as advocated by someone here.

Question:
1) How much does it cost a woman to make an average hairdo? (Let's be honest here please)
2) How much does a female shoe, or gele or buba and iro, or any other type of female dress cost?
3) How much does a female makeup kit or perfume cost (or are you telling me your wife will not make up or use perfume, even if na N800 perfume like FairChild)?
4) How much does a typical Nigerian woman spend on phone calls?

Tell me how all this can happen on N5,000 allowance for a Nigerian wife of 2011.

My guy, go and buffer your earnings to at least twice this amount (i.e. start earning N90,000 minimum). You do not need to change jobs. Augment your N45k income by doing some things at the side. There are some towns in Nigeria that are so hot. Where I used to live in one of the Northern states, the demand for ice blocks in my area was so high that I actually knew someone making N10,000 a day selling ice blocks. Do the maths here.

So do not live in a fantasy world. There are so many posts here that can guide you on low cost businesses you can start that can if not anything, push up your monthly earnings by at least N20k or N30k.

Must a woman be at the saloon every month? Must she buy a new shooe every month? Must she buy perfume and make up kit every month? Must she call everytime?? As long as you tell your woman the truth, she will understand with you unless you go and marry some woman that was spoilt from childhoold with $$$.
This is how it will happen - Since she is at home, she can beg her friendly neighbour to weave her hair with synthetic weavons for N400. China slippers are all over for under N1000. Make up? yes, she can get a set for about N500 and will last her for 3 months. Gele? Buba? Does she have to go to party every weekend? No she don't! When situation improves, she can host her own parties,

Cut your coat according to your size. With N45,000 a month you can still live a quality live and plan for higher grounds:

Housing - N12,500 per month (Decent 1 Bedroom Flat in Ikorodu, Owode, Berger, Akuwonjo etc)
Feeding - N15,000 per month (Take lunch to work from home. This is just you and your wife)
Transportation - N4,000 per month
Clothing - N5,000 (Save this for 2 months and do clothing shopping every 2 or 3 months)
Wife up keep - N5,000 per month
Others - N3,000
Savings - N5,500 (This will increase when your income increases)


Easy to do. Just get use to this routine. When you get married, your wife may bring in some money too. Before she gets a job, make sure that you give her the feeding money monthly.

The rate of indecent dressing is increasing in Nigeria. The number of guys and gals showing off their underwear is becoming unbearable even inside the church. There should be a law that states that anyone seen in such appearance will be giving 24 strokes of cane by any policeman or military men that caught them. This I believe will reduce it. Indecency in dressing is very relative. If the weather calls for someone to be 5% covered, it is ok.
