The 27-year-old is convinced he has no role under the incoming Scot and is looking to force through a move away from Old Trafford this summer, with Arsenal and Chelsea interested Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson insists David Moyes will be the person to decide Wayne Rooney's future this summer. The 27-year-old is convinced he no longer has a part to play under Moyes' regime and is prepared to force through a move away from Old Trafford at the end of the season. With Arsenal and Chelsea keeping tabs on Rooney's situation, the England international is also attracting interest from Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid. MANCHESTER UNITED LATEST Wayne Rooney is 4/5 with BetVictor to join Bayern Munich during the summer But Sir Alex claims that Moyes, who will officially take charge of United on July 1, is keen to address Rooney's position at the club. "I have spoken to David a few times," Sir Alex told reporters. "I would imagine he would want to come in quite soon when the season finishes and speak to staff and things like that. "But I have not spoken to David about Wayne. I’m sure he will address it when he gets here. "I have no idea why Wayne wants to leave, it is not my department. I am no longer interested in that. "David is going to deal with that and, quite rightly, he wants to deal with it.

Real Madrid have confirmed the 50-year-old will leave the Bernabeu at the end of the current season, paving the way for him to return to Stamford Bridge after a six-year absence By Jerry-Jat Jose Mourinho will be appointed the new Chelsea manager within the next fortnight, Goal understands. Real Madrid paved the way for Mourinho's return to Stamford Bridge by revealing on Monday night that the Portuguese will leave the Bernabeu at the end of the season by mutual consent. Chelsea are now clear to formalise a contract with Mourinho that, as revealed by Goal, is believed to have been agreed in principle following a breakthrough in negotiations last month. The Europa League champions could confirm Mourinho's appointment this week or wait until the Spanish league season finishes on June 1. The Chelsea high command, led by Roman Abramovich, have been in talks with Mourinho’s camp for months about a sensational return for the man who led the club to two Premier League titles during his first spell in charge from 2004-2007. Negotiations centred on how much control Mourinho would have in recruiting players and staff, as well as his place in a management structure where low-profile technical director Michael Emenalo holds the levers of power. The 50-year-old’s messy exit from Real was confirmed on Monday when club president made it public in a press conference at the Bernabeu at 8pm. Perez said that no compensation would be payable either by coach or club, amid reports that there was a €14 million release fee in Mourinho’s contract, which was due to expire in 2016. Perez said: "No one has been sacked." He also said that he would have liked Mourinho to have continued but that the pressure at Real Madrid meant that the time had come to end the relationship. "Sometimes the pressure here goes beyond the normal," he said. "And Mourinho has been here for three years: that makes him the longest-serving manager in the first division." Perez called a meeting with Mourinho at the club's Valdebebas training ground on Monday morning during which the two agreed to bring an end to the manager’s contract after the final game of the season on 1 June. That decision was then ratified by the board in the afternoon before being made public in the evening. Mourinho will take charge of Sunday’s clash at Real Sociedad and then end his troubled and chaotic three-year stint at home against Osasuna on June1. Chelsea are expecting to unveil him at a Stamford Bridge press conference soon afterwards.

So many JAMB candidates have argued and keep complaining that JAMB is to blame for their low scores or non release of certain scores in certain subjects, and have for long feared that there was nothing that could be done about the situation. Well, I have been able to gather exclusive information and some tips from some JAMB officials about a procedure for remarking of scripts of candidates who dare to contest their scores. These procedures have been hidden for a while due to lack of publicity and the stress involved in taking these steps. However, I believe that if a student is determined to challenge JAMB, they should have adequate information on how to go about the process. Afterall, if you're sure of yourself, it's better spending N10,000 than waiting for the next 1 year to take another JAMB. STEPS ON HOW TO APPLY FOR JAMB REMARKING 1. You should be in ABUJA. Since the Jamb Office in Abuja is the Headquarters for the board, all scripts nationwide are usually sent there for marking. Hence it's only in the Abuja Headquarters that your script can be accessed. So get to the JAMB headquarters. 2. You will need to make a payment of about N10,000 to apply for remarking and a receipt will be issueed to you so it is official. 3. Your script will be searched, pulled out and marked in your presence. Once your script is remarked, here are the 2 scenarios that can occur; 1. JAMB is correct about the score given; If this is the case, then you go home and either use the score you had or wait for the next JAMB. There will be NO REFUND. 2. YOU are correct about the score given; In this case, JAMB will officially apologize for the error, give you your actual marks obtained and according to Prof Dibu Ojeride on Weekend file interview of 18th May, give you up to N100,000 for compensation. For the 2013 UTME, this procedure starts as from 3rd June... So what's your opinion about this?... Are you going for Remarking?... |

Good morning. U must be awake after sleeping through the night probably at home reading this. Have u ever given a tot about the soldiers u pass at checkpoints come rain or sunshine?... Have u given any tot about them not being @ home with their families?... Sleeping in their beds or playing with their kids?... Were u ever upset because they stopped u to search ur vehicle? Were u even ever annoyed that they were 'rude' to u? Well think about wat standing for 4 hours can do to ur temperament! They r not there by choice! They were ordered to be there so u can comfortably sleep in ur bed and play with ur kids. So pls give these some thoughts and note that a little inconvenience is a small price for peace. Pls appreciate the Nigerian Soldiers...

THE Joint Military Task Force (JTF) in Maiduguri, the Borno state capital has said that no fewer than 5 people suspected to be members of Boko Haram have been killed while preparing Improvised Explosive Devices (IED’s) which exploded Sunday in Biu Local Government Area of the state. Biu is one of the five council areas which is under the state of emergency declared by President Jonathan since January this year. Field Operations Officer of the Joint Task Force (JTF) in Borno State Colonel Victor Ebhaleme confirmed the incident in a telephone interview from Maiduguri. He said, “We got information that some Boko Haram terrorists were planning to invade Maiduguri from Biu town, 187 kilometers away with a view to causing crises. This prompted the JTF,331 Battalion in Biu town and the Department of State Security Services to mobilize our men to Biu town where we found pieces of human parts numbering about five destroyed by Improvised Explosive Devises (IEDs)” Colonel Ebhaleme said on phone. Ebhaleme also reveal that “three GPMG,5 AK47 9 Magazines, 73 rounds of ammunition and some Improvised Explosive Devise making materials were recovered from the Boko Haram suspects. Besides, we were able to arrest two of the suspect while trying to flee the bomb making factory”. He therefore urged the general public not to panic but to go about their normal businesses as JTF is on top of the security challenges affecting the state. -Vangurd News... |
The Joint Task Force (JTF) commander Victor Ebhaleme in a statement today said that soldiers defused five bombs in Kaleri ward of London Chiki in Maiduguri, a city notorious for bomb and shooting attacks blamed on the Boko Haram sect. In his words; “We defused five IEDs (Improvised Explosive Devices)… we believe to have been planted by members of the Boko Haram sect which would have wreaked monumental havoc if they had detonated,” “We have succeeded in arresting six high-profile members of Boko Haram in a raid on their hideout following useful information provided us by some residents,” The JTF commander added that the six were being questioned and gave no further details. On Tuesday, Soldiers shot dead four suspected Boko Haram members and injured five others in the same city. Maiduguri is the home ground of the dreaded Boko Haram sect.

Security troops yesterday used jets and attack helicopters to bombard Boko Haram Islamic camps in Sambisa Game Reserve, in Borno State, which is one of their strongholds killing a number of the insurgents. The Sambisa Camps are believed to be harbouring their training and enrolment base. Over 3,600 military personnel comprising the Army, Navy, Police, the Department of State Security, DSS and other security agencies and men of Counter Terrorists Squad, CTS, are said to be involved in the campaign to rout the Boko Haram insurgents from their hideouts in the affected states. Heavy weapons belonging to the insurgents including anti-aircraft and anti-tank guns were destroyed by the military fighter jets even as the Nigerian Army’s artillery long range surface to air guns were also being used. Director of Defence Information, Brigadier-General Chris Olukolade told Reuters that several camps had been attacked, including the game reserve in Borno state, but did not give further details. “A number of insurgents have been killed. There are a lot of casualties. It is not just Sambisa, every camp is under attack. But we have not done the mopping up operations on the ground to determine the numbers killed,” Olukolade said, adding that, “there have been air strikes since Wednesday, and were continuing yesterday. I cannot tell you the actual number of terrorists killed, but I am optimistic we are making headway, and at the end of the operation, we will be commended.” An unconfirmed report however, said that one of the air strike jets was shot by the insurgents, “but the pilots manoeuvred it successfully and landed safely at the base.” This military offensive continued just as the Army said yesterday that its personnel in Daura, Katsina State foiled an attempt by the Boko Haram sect to overrun the ancient town by attacking and bombing government and public institutions like police stations and banks, causing mayhem and disrupting the peace of the residents of the area. Borno and Yobe states and their environs have remained for two days without communication as all the GSM networks were cut off to enable the military accomplish their mission without hitches. No fewer than 35 of the insurgents had so far been killed during the air strikes on their training camps. Military Spokesman, Olukolade confirmed that jets and helicopter gunships had been used to attack several camps. Nigerian forces are trying to regain territory controlled by increasingly well-armed Boko Haram Islamist insurgents in their north-eastern stronghold states of Borno, Yobe and Adamawa, which were put under a state of emergency by President Goodluck Jonathan on Tuesday. At Gamboru, Ngala and Marte towns on the border with Cameroon in northern Borno, residents said that heavily armed troops and tanks arrived on Wednesday, sealing off previously unmanned border posts. Some sources said that many innocent people, particularly those residing in the remote areas along were not aware of the operations. The Defence Headquarters in an update on the battle to dislodge Boko Haram from the Northern borders of the country, confirmed earlier reports that it destroyed some terrorists camps in Northern and Central Borno. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2013/05/soldiers-comb-boko-haram-hideouts-kill-35/

The Nigerian military has launched air raids on militant training camps in the north-east of the country, officials say. An army spokesman said jets and helicopter gunships had been used to attack several camps. He told the BBC that a plane had been hit by anti-aircraft fire but had managed to return to base. States of emergency were declared this week in three north-eastern states hit by Boko Haram's Islamist insurgency. Nigerian military spokesman Brig Gen Chris Olukolade said two militant bases in the Sambisa Forest Reserve were destroyed in raids. The reserve is about 70km (45 miles) south of the Borno state capital, Maiduguri, where the militants first emerged in 2009. Reports say dozens of militants have been killed, but there has been no independent confirmation. Nigerian forces are trying to regain control in the states of Adamawa, Yobe and Borno. "It is not just Sambisa, every camp is under attack"... Source:- BBC
