However if you're wicked and a worker of iniquity, you are "cursed" according to Jesus. So it doesn't matter if you claim to be a Christian or believe the lie that you inherited Christ's righteousness, you wouldn't be blessed until you repent and turn away from your wicked ways and begin to work righteousness instead.

It's already bad that it's sex outside of marriage and even worse that a married woman was involved.

Of all the women in the world, it was a married woman that the priest decided that he would commit sexual immorality with.

Really terrible.

Even if she didn't die, it wouldn't have made it any less terrible, because although they may able to keep the secret away from men as a result, they couldn't possibly keep it from God who sees everything, even that which men cannot see. And He shall reward every man according to his works, including those men didn't see.

The above makes reference to a backsliden minister who felt his track record will cover for him. The bible makes it clear about the destiny of such.

Jesus Had No Seed But Was The Seed (Word) Of God Sown To Multiply His Kind

Jesus was the seed (Word) of God which God sowed on Earth to multiply after His kind on Earth.

So whenever anyone kept the Word of God, he also becomes the word of God, hence is the Word of God multiplied.

That's how the disciples of Jesus also became the word (sons) of God just as Jesus was. They kept the Word of God that was sown into their hearts.

It's their obedience of the Word of God that made not to be of the world but of the kingdom of God, and also one with God as Jesus was.

Look at the work above Jesus ask you to do to be saved.

You workers of iniquity really love vague terms like "faith" and "belief" right, because they give you room to exploit to enable you justify your works of iniquity.

But Jesus always knew it was possible that some workers of iniquity would want to take advantage of that, hence He addressed that loophole and clearly defined what He meant by "believe in Me" to ensure that workers of iniquity like you don't have that chance.

So as you can see, belief or faith in Jesus without the obedience of His Word is nothing but an illusion. It's only exists in your imagination!

You can stroll down the passage to see where the same people who were said to have believed took stones up to cast at Jesus. That's why anyone who believe must keep His Words to confirm it, because that's what distinguishes the true believers from the false ones.

If you and your fellow workers of iniquity that claim to believe and have faith in Jesus were there, I'm sure you'd also be among those who picked up stones to throw at Jesus because you're false believers.
