What made it legit? Because God answered it? Compare God's answer of his request to that of Solomon, then you'd understand, if you really wanted to, the difference between praying according to the Will of God and just praying.

Just so you'd also know, God also granted the request of the children of Israel for a king, even though it went contrary to His Will and greatly displeased Him.

So God granting someone prayer request doesn't mean it pleased Him or was legit, but only a prayer according to the Will of God pleases God. That was why Solomon's prayer where He didn't ask for such blessings for himself as Jabez had done, but to serve God's interest pleased God. It was because he prayed according to the Will of God.

You can keep praying like Jabez if you wish though, but i know better than that, hence i want to please God with my prayer like Solomon did with his. He deserves such a prayer.

Praying for God to meet one's need is according to the Will of God. God wants to meet everyone's need, but not want! You need to understand the difference between need and want to be able to comprehend this.

And I don't pray for Abraham's blessing and wouldn't advice anyone to do that because such a prayer is a function of ignorance.

Abraham's blessing came to him not by prayer but by the obedience of God's Word, so I pray to be obedient to God's Word instead and now God calls me a blessing just as He said He'd make Abram if he obeys His Word.

Fasting without prayers is simply a hunger strike, you can even harmed yourself.

The Truth is that I prayed during the fasting but not much probably because of how draining the fast was, however I believe that although prayer helps when one is deliberately fasting for a purpose, that even if the person is not praying, it is not just not starvation because fasting is a spiritual activity on its own. Moreover after that fast, when i initially tried to fast for three days dry, even with much praying and far better conditions, I wasn't able to succeed until recently, I think last year, and this one in the wilderness took place far back in December 2002. So the reason I wasn't able to complete it in the wilderness couldn't be because I didn't or hardly prayed, because I made it to the 9th day of the fast under those extreme conditions, so that alone showed that I definitely got some help from above.

Religious and cultural believes aside, it made common and academic sense, it's also logically straight to say: virginity till marriage reduce infidelity to the bearest minimum.
