I dislike the Nigerian police with a passion. Its more like these bunch of people(male and female) calling themselves the Nigerian Police force were handpicked from the Nigerian population just for having the unfortunate quality of being totally stupid. In fact, I use to wonder if there are any smart ones among them, if these guys have any kind of education, if there is any form of tasking / solid requirement for joining the Nigerian Police.

Orji Kalu the former governor of Abia State, who is currently facing corruption charges for looting the government while in office, has put up his United States mansion up for sale,

The property, which is on five acres of land at 14900 River Road, Potomac, Maryland, has seven bedrooms and seven and a half bathrooms.

It not clear why Kalu is selling the home but last year a 47-year old Nigerian woman, Chinwe Masi, mysteriously died on the property while Mr. Kalu was

there. Although the Maryland coroner said that Chinwe, who was purportedly Mr. Kalu's mistress, died of heart attack, family members and friends said they suspected foul play. They cited the rushed and secret burial which was done by a select group of family members.

The public feud between former heads of state Ibrahim Babangida (IBB) and Olusegun Obasanjo (OBJ) is an occasion to reflect on the high price the Nigeria has paid for poor governance.

The two have been military colleagues since the Biafra War (1967-1970) and are an integral part of the patron-client system that runs Nigeria. IBB was the military chief of state for eight years, while OBJ was the military chief of state for three years and then the nominally civilian elected

president of Nigeria for an additional eight years. Within the Nigerian military, OBJ was senior to IBB, though both are four star retired generals. They are about the same age and both made their fortunes via the access that military power provides.

IBB used the occasion of his seventieth birthday to compare favorably his time in office to that of OBJ. More specifically, he said that OBJ had wasted some sixteen billion dollars on power projects. OBJ responded by calling IBB a fool, citing conflicting verses from proverbs about whether he should respond or not. (He chose to do so.)

The photograph of the six kidnappers was released in Kano today by the State Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Idris who said they were apprehended at Kabuga quarters of the city.
According to the Kano Police boss, Ibrahim Idris, the police in Jos, Plateau State arrested a dismissed police corporal, Jacob Cowen who led detectives to Kano.
The cooperation of the Plateau and Kano states police commands led to the arrest of the six suspected kidnappers who had held Elder Michael Obi hostage for 10 days.
The suspects include a lady, Nkechi Ossai, Ifeanyi Essien, Jacob Cowen, Ndubusi Friday, Basil Chukwuma and a Nigerien, Sule Ibrahim.
Narrating his ordeal in the hands of his captors, Elder Michael Obi said they bundled him into an Army van and drove him into a bush where they beat and hit him with their shoes.
He said his kidnappers wore Army camouflage uniform but he could not ascertain if they were soldiers.
Meanwhile, the Eze Ndigbo of Kano, Chief Tobias Idika has called on President Goodluck Jonathan to treat kidnappers as terrorists, adding that the six suspected kidnappers should be brought to justice.

the unprofessional customer services of various institutions in Nigeria,


Nairalander who were in time past or presently Clients to named institutions spoke on conditions of anonymity exposing the lax of staffs and representatives

of corporate bodies

Some of the companies named for unprofessional attendance were

Sweet Sensation,Opebi Road by anonymous “mbulela”

Standard Chartered Bank, “Arik Air”, “Germanwings Airline” 

UBA had a bad bat by anonymous Emperor,

An anonymous “Chaircover” confirmed mbuela on sweet sensation opebi with “ Staff looked like they didn't want to be there, behaving like they were

doing you a favour”.

Also listed as bad are 1st Bank Nigeria plc, MTN Nigeria, Airtel, NEPA now Power holding, DSTV Nigeria, HITV customer service amongst others

The father of Chelsea and Nigeria star John Mikel Obi has been found alive in the Nigerian city Kano.

Michael Obi was last seen in the Nigerian city of Jos on 12 August and his car was found there last Wednesday.

Obi Senior told the BBC that he had been kidnapped in Jos and transferred to Kano.

His abductors are now in police custody in the northern Nigerian city.

Jubilant Libyan rebels have moved from the west into the centre of the capital, Tripoli, as Muammar Gaddafi's sons and defenders lose their grip on the state.

Thousands of euphoric civilians rushed out of their homes to cheer the long convoys of pickup trucks packed with fighters shooting in the air.

The rebels' surprising and speedy leap forward, after six months of largely deadlocked civil war, was packed into just a few dramatic hours.
