Politics / Re: 2015 Elections: My Perception About The Yorubas! by jfking2005(m): 11:36am On Apr 02, 2015
dearpreye:
Campaigns have ended. And elections have come and gone. The majority have decided in favour of President-elect, GMB. And we all should follow in the magnanimous footsteps of the incumbent President and accept the elections. A look at the bigger picture will tell one that the outcome was in the best interest of the nation. This may not be so with everyone, but I believe, in retrospect, the outcome was perfect for us AT THIS TIME.
Once again, congratulations to GMB and the APC, and the dogged supporters of his even here on Nairaland. Its being a huge honour to have met some of the most determined and convinced supporters from the both camps here. Though during the campaigns, we may have disagreed, and even came close to name-calling on a few occasions, but I believe we all did what we did in the best interest of the nation. Severussnape, temitemi1, ozoigbondu, Gbawe, Agaba123, barcanista, talktimi, egift, Billyonaire, Firefire, Whynotthetruth, WisdomFlakes, chukwudi44, sincerenigerian, raumdeuter, Passinshot, Clevermind, DaBulllT, francizy, and all other comrades too numerous to mention, our nation is fortunate to have you guys. Good work! There are many ways to the same destination!
THE YORUBAS
What a people! I have spend more than 20 years in Lagos, so its kinda safe to say, to a large extent, I do understand them. I have a lot of them as friends and brothers. They are a very wonderful people. First and foremost, I must appreciate Sen Bola Tinubu for his vision, and introduction of a new twist to our nation's politics. We owe him a lot.
I knew from the moment of the successful merger that birthed the APC that it would be very tough for the PDP to retain the Presidency. Most people here in PH believed the Yorubas voted for the APC because of Prof Osinbajo. I have fruitlessly tried to explain to them the level of political maturity of the South Westerners. Yes, thousands may have voted the APC because of Osinbajo. In every election, we are bound to see some voters support their own purely on the basis of tribe. But I believe the average Yoruba voted against the PDP purely based on PERFORMANCE. They felt GEJ didn't do enough to warrant their support and votes. They voted entirely on convictions!
We will agree it would have been very difficult, if not impossible, for GMB to have won the elections without the votes of the Yorubas. Their support for GMB led him to Aso Rock.
The outcome of the results from the South West showed clearly they are politically mature. The results came neck-in-neck. I believe that was where real elections took place. They are a people of convictions and ideals. If they turn against a candidate based on performance, they hardly retreat. Even in the OBJ days, on account of poor performance, they voted massively against him..their own brother. That will hardly happen with any other region.
The elections have ended. I paid more attention to the SW during the collation. They really know what they want. Kudos to them for their being true to their values and convictions. That's how a people grow.

You really understood the YORUBAS, i give it to you!!!!!

of course you must be really sick.
Buhari is a man full of contradictions.-
He will fight corruption but Tinubu is his

subordinates.- He is honest but lies about
his qualification.-He has no N 27 million

sees others fight against terrorism as anti-

known to have helped a single almajiri
even in Daura.- He will fix the economy but
has not even basic rudiment of
economics.- He will fix education but is
unschooled himself.- He wants to benefit
from democracy but overthrew a
democratic government.- He obtained
school certificate but cannot produce "the

No one is afraid of d card reader machine but how Jega, intends to use it for manipulation of election process.
1.Jega is withrawing d machine for reconfiguration for want of new dates. What has new date got to do with machine already designed to detect fake cards?
2.Jega had planned to disenfranchise 27m voters from certain geo-political zones by insisting on 14 Feb election b4 a change in d date due to pressure.
3.Jega is yet to recv Buhari's results which is suppose to be attached to Inec Form yet,he is moving forward as if nothing is happening
4 Jega mode of pvcs distribution in d north differs from that in d South.Imams, councilors, village heads, emirs, town criers, ward heads etc are being used in d north to fast track d process in d north while in d SW.SS and SE, d pvcs are dumped in inec offices to be sorted out in cumbersome manner
5.Good number of those yet to collect pvcs are frm ss,se and sw,bec inec is yet to take delivery of d cards frm contractor
6.Card reader is Jega's plan B certain geopol zone

Can you please help INEC by telling those guys to go and collect thier PVC's?

i was at INEC office within the week with a friend to collect his card after much persuation to pick it up and less than 5min we are out.

INEC official complained that people refuse to come for it, how is that INEC's fault? You only stay behind your laptop/computer and write whatever you read or hear people say.

Very many people refuse to pick it up while some have even relocated, is that still INEC's fault?

we need to be objective here when discussing real issue. Regarding certificate, the case is in Court, do you have a problem with that also? Infact there are about 5 cases regarding that in court already so why worrying about that?

Can you compare a state predominantly working class with a state where majory are either civil servant or pastoral farmers?.

Please tell your friends and neighbour to go pick up thier card within the week and not go and congest INEC office by weekend when everybody wanted to be attended to at the same time with little or no patience. That is how you can help INEC

If INEC are withdrawig the card to update it, Are you afraid they may detect any trick you are trying to play on them with the onces in the public domain? i really dont know why you worried so much here? You;ve got only 1 Vote and they are trying to ensure that 1 vote count yet you blame Jega for everything even suspecting he is working against the nation progress.

Please change your orientation and learn to be objective, truthful, sincere and trust others because i guess you dont even trust yourslef but you prefer the NORMAL old ways of doing thing.

Help yourself so that God can help you.

look at the disjointed lines, the Oluwole man that did this imposition job is not well skilled.

The result sheet itself was only signed and stamped by the principal this year, does it mean that the school did not sign or stamp this schedule of results since 1961??

You are on every post seeking attention.
Please let me educate you quickly so that you can keep quiet.
The current principal has the right to sign it and no one else.
If you go to your secondary school for statement of result do you expect the statement to be prepared signed and kept since you graduated? NO! NO!! NO!!!
It is only when requested that it will be prepared, duly signed and stamp by the current principal since your record is available.
So focus on how to improve our economy, security and corruption.
