CareerRe: How Lucrative Is The Legal Profession? by Jhoanner(f): 8:08am On Dec 11, 2018
The problem with the legal profession right now, just like in any other industry is lack of mentorship. The senior lawyers are slave drivers looking for whose blood to suck dry. If you find yourself in an organisation that doesn't enable your growth, it's better to quit. You should have a short and long-term plan of what you want to achieve. Look for a problem to solve innovatively. Think outside the box. The world needs lawyers. Know your responsibility.

History will be very kind to freeze. In some years to come, people will look back and wonder how their parents and grandparents were so gullible to actually believed the fraudsters parading Nigeria today as god of men. People like freeze will be seen as the few who led the revolution to expose the silliness of fraudulent pastors. William Wilberforce and co were not popular in their days, today, they are celebrated as heroes that fought against slavery; Freeze will be celebrated like them in years to come.
You're correct. There are two types of humans. The master of the present and the master of the future. The first preserves the world and increases it numerically and the second moves the world and leads it towards a goal- Fyodor Dostoyevsky

Na wa o. Some people want to cash out on this guy's health. They just want to use him to shine and make lots of bucks from his mental illness and am sure they will spend less than 3% of the money gain on him while as long they are done with him, they will leave him to his fate. I see this as wickedness of the highest order. You will soon see them raising funds on his behalf yet they won't spend the fund raised on him. He needs medical rehabilitation not all these nonsense cash out funny deals. We need the name of those sponsoring and promoting him so that when things go wrong, we know who to call out.
Exactly my thoughts!!

.. Don't mind all these hypocrites, lazy and selfish people supporting the lady. If I may ask, what's she offering in the relationship if she cannot help him do laundry?. Sex I guess. If one calls her a sex object now, they will say you dont have respect for women. And she will be the first to call the guy names if he decide to stop taking care of her welfare. I also blame the guy for not telling her to start taking care of herself since they are not married.
Honestly!!

Yeah!olamide is right on this one I'm not even a big fan.balling with or benefitting from yahooboys and still vilifying them is the highest height of hypocrisy that's why I pity some of the girlfriends of the diabolical ones or the ritualists who sacrifice these girls for hammer money cos they are unusually loyal to them...with that being said I think the menace of internet fraud needs to be nipped in the bud but without alternative measures being put in place in the present day Nigeria I personal believe we are inviting mind blowing evil to our doorsteps...i have this saying to each is own and if God butter your bread in Nigeria today don't always be on the high horse and knock off people crawling, walking or even finding it hard to stand. This country is a mess nothing hardly works, infrastructures dead or decayed social welfare is like an alien word to us now corruption is everywhere and the place where it is supposed to be the lowest which is in government is where you have it the most tell me why there wont be crimes even in developed countries of the world there is crime everywhere how do you expect a country like Nigeria which has been a third world country since 1914 to be a haven a state of utopia when its abundant resources and in the hands of a few and not being properly utilized...one thing people fail to take cognizance of when the mostly shout yahoo is a crime which although it is,in real truth is our population they say we are 150m lets say we are 120 self, lets compare our unemployed or underemployed citizens to that number who ironically are mostly youths we have maybe 50m in that category compare that stats with countries like the UK,Ghana, south Africa,Togo, the civ,Switzerland,Netherlands and so on whose total population is under that 50m and tell me if the rate of people going into crime wont differ...second let's look at our higher institutions the university for instance how many graduates do we churn out yearly? 100th of thousands maybe 500 what's the percent of the lucky absorbed ones lets say being generous 20% then we have 200,000 youths able bodied, smart, intelligent roaming the streets some will say yeah go into Agriculture are there free lands? No!even the the real farmers are complaining cos of government policies and incentives which I not favorable bank loans dont even talk bout it!talking of being self employed most people who aren't educated are already occupying that position, the traders, the artisans, the business people that area is congested on its own so logically that area can't absorb our teeming educated population let's look at some of the FG job's advertised some years back our many of the unemployed citizens have gotten jobs from FIRs,to FCSC,NRC,NIA,the police recruitment has it been completed by now the Npower paying the stipends 30k is it well runned!wasn't the last selection even marred with irregularities and manipulations then who are we deceiving?we dont have the infrastructures to even help SMes to survive and the govt policies to write home about some people would tell you we can change our through protests so that we can be used for target practice, elections that has already been concluded before it starts only a real revolution can change this country...a lot of people in their late 20s,early and mid 30s are still living with their parents why cos of the economic situation of the country unless you're rich or comfortable to some extent dont even think bout getting married if you practice self love and they say dignity in labor there is no dignity in labor in Nigeria if you labor and you're wretched you will get deprived of your rights...i e .teachers, public and civil servants if you do menial jobs people will look down on you step on you cos ours is a materialistic society if you are not rich you're a nobody you're a lesser man few people would want to associate with you it's a feeling of being a failure..and when you see some men having billions in their bank accounts for just being in government or politics some people lose it altogether and that's why we have the get rich quick syndrome in Nigeria today...we should be careful what we wish for a lot of boys out there are desperate and if the soft crimes like yahoo is no more available then harder ones become desirable not all of us have restraints and have limits so we can always have days we sleep more with our two eyes closed and we wont have to be waylaid when we are coming back from our places of daily bread!the government should see this as a wake up call and provide substitutes for this soft criminals and stop given them excuses and stop making people apologetic to their cause even if it's underpaid jobs let be available and in multitudes it is doable let's engage our youths in productive enterprises and lets awaken the Nigerian spirits in them and bring back the culture of hard work in our country!N.B.Not all scammers are Nigerians you have them in a number of African countries Ghana,Senegal,SA and even in Asia,North America and Europe pretending as Nigerians, colouring our national image as a country of fraud to the world..Times are hard and an hungry man is a angry man with a dead conscience the government should give the Nigerian Youths a better deal
Wow!! I should print this out and frame it. So much truth in this

TV/MoviesEssential Features In A Reality TV Contract :bbnaija In Focus by Jhoanner(op): 7:15am On Apr 27, 2018
Big Brother Nigeria Double Wahala Edition has come and gone but its huge success as a form of entertainment remains undeniable. The huge fanfare and interest by Nigerians across the country and beyond goes to show the huge potentials that can be found in reality television as a source of entertainment in Nigeria. It is very certain that a lot of youths in Nigeria would want to be the next big thing in the country. However, before you make that decision to participate in an activity that may change your life forever, be mindful that these shows do not exist in vacuum. There are certain agreements which will bind the producer of the show and each participant. Therefore you must educate yourself and read thoroughly the agreement/contract given to you and ascertain that your interests are protected before signing. Below are some essential features you will find in a reality television contract. Some of these features were similar to that obtained in the 36-page Big Brother UK Agreement contract. Be well guided. Thanks.

The Rule book

The house mates will be given a rule book before entering the house and also when they get into the house. However, the contract gives the Producers of the show overriding powers to change, modify and amend the provisions of the rulebook without prior notice to the participants and such decision is final.

Physical, emotional and psychological stress

According to the contract, the participant would agree that he or she will be subject to physical, emotional and psychological stress both during their stay as well as after their stay in the House. The contract would ask them to waive any legal action that may arise as a result of the infliction of physical, emotional and psychological stress during and after the show.

Invasion of privacy

Generally, there is a constitutionally guaranteed right to privacy which cannot be derogated from by any law, person or body/institution. However, when entering the House, by consenting to be a participant, you agree to waive any legal action that arises from an invasion of your privacy.

HIV/Sexually-Transmitted-Diseases (STDs)

There is a provision that each participant would get tested for STDs or HIV but must accept the risk of having sex with someone who might have HIV or and STD despite the results of the tests. However, the provision further states that the Producers do not encourage sexual activity among participants. This is a way of exempting liability for any injury that may arise where a participant contracts HIV or STDs in the House. In other words, you are on your own.

Defamation

The contract will also provide that the Producers would not be held liable for intentional or negligent infliction of emotional distress, defamation or other things. Where their actions or the actions of other participants expose them to public ridicule, humiliation or condemnation, the producers cannot be prevented from broadcasting that and no legal action can arise on the part of the participant in this regard.

Physical violence

The contract also forbids the participants from engaging in physical violence, nonconsensual sexual contact, and intimidation by threats or physical violence. The Producers are also left with the discretion to determine what constitutes this. According to the contract, the Producers need to ‘balance and preserve fairness in the competition while ensuring the ultimate safety of participants’.

Federal Offence

It is a federal offence to do anything that would rig or in any way influence the outcome of the show.

Disclosure of confidential information

By the provisions of the contract, the House participants are disallowed from disclosing to any party anything about the show for a number of years and pay certain amount of damages for violating the confidentiality agreement.

Appearance fee/Compensation

This provision is very important. The Big Brother UK contract made provision for weekly appearance fees while in the House. The contract also leaves the Producers with the discretion to give additional consolation and or runner-up prizes in cash or in kind. In other words, the Producers can decide whether or not to pay any compensation to the House participants in cash or in kind. In the case of Big Brother Nigeria, it is safe to say that the numerous prized and sponsored games that the House mates participated in may be equivalent to appearance fees or compensation.

Disclosure of confidential information

The contract may also contain a provision disallowing the participants from disclosing to any party anything about the show for a number of years (usually three), and pay damages for violating the confidentiality agreement.

Miscellaneous provisions

i) There is also provision for an ‘alternate’, also known as a ‘fake housemate’ who enters the game after it has started. There is some form of compensation for them.

ii) House mates are only allowed to bring approved items into the house, and be searched before entering the house.

iii)House mates are not to damage the house or technical equipment.
