If Nairaland should allow people to discuss secessionist ideas on Nairaland as a platform, and the Nigerian Police sensor or ban Nairaland for aiding and abetting a break up of Nigeria; who will pay the legal costs and make the personal sacrifices to clear Nairaland who had (in the process of allowing people free speech and freedom of expression/opinion) violated the constitution of Nigeria re: Secession?

How much will you pay towards Nairaland's costs in that regard? Or will you simply continue to type your thoughts whilst hiding behind a computer screen?

This was what I was just discussing with someone few weeks ago, even adverts meant for Nigerian goods and cosumption are being short in foreign countries. They should have been bankers, lawyers, doctors, industrialists. Instead, they were village illiterates, despite the fact that the whites exported our resources - cocoa, groundnuts, tin, rubber, palm oil, timber, iron ore, coal, in large quantities yearly between 1897 and 1960. These commodities were the 'crude oil' of their day, drawing huge profits.

By all measurements, Nigeria should have been a reasonably developed nation at independence. Not an undeveloped bush with near zero infrastructure. Not even a power grid. Not even a single full fledged university.

By contrast, Goodluck Jonathan built 12 universities in just 5 years, and we still insult him!! (while loving the whites, who built....zero).

We have power cuts today? What about NO POWER AT ALL as was the case during colonialism, for over 95% of the population? Since no serious power plants were constructed?

AGAIN, IF THE WHITES ARE AS FANTASTIC AS YOU PEOPLE CLAIM, WHY DID WE NEED TO START FROM SCRATCH BUILDING INFRASTRUCTURE AND SCHOOLS AFTER THEY LEFT?

SO WE MAY NOT BE PERFECT, BUT WE ARE MUCH BETTER OFF UNDER BLACK RULE THAN WE EVER WERE UNDER WHITE RULE.

And for those suggesting that whites should return and rule us, may thunder fire your collective nyashes. Maybe the illiteracy of your forbears was not enough for you. You want your children to revert to that level.

Lagos is not part of Western Nigeria in the Nigerian constitution, Lagos is a former capital of Nigeria and developed by Nigeria money, no tribe in Nigeria has wright to claim Lagos as it own, lagos is owned by Nigerians who invested in it, it is a NO MAN LAND for allNigerians been the former capital of Nigeria for decades. The only indigenous people in Lagos is the Aworis, Egun and Ijaw and rest are migrants. Abuja is been developed with Nigeria oil money now after former tribes living in it will come claim Abuja as their own and start threatening other Nigerians that have invested heavily in it to make it what is it to leave Abuja for them just like what some Yorubas is doing in Lagos. They want to reap where they did not sow.
