I lifted below pix from akeembussy thread. The photos explain in part why there's a dearth of straight regular sized wood. Sawmilling in Nigeria is an all comers affair with wrong tools and machinery. The thread says the wood is idi agbon, coconut tree, that it's very good for roofing resistant to termites. How true? Because I know the palm tree of which the coconut tree is a family is home to the edible maggot right?

Between 30 and 33 9" blocks per bag.
I was advised to introduce plaster sand but I don't know exact reason. Maybe there is an added strength based on the fact that the finer plaster sand fills up the spaces left caused by the coarser sharp sand... I don't know. I will ask and get back.

I would advice you start moulding your blocks now , I just finish moulding the first set of blocks on my site. Just like what mayor 78 said if rains comes get a damp proof to cover them and even the rain will help u watered your blocks
