Bodex2000:Kept 30 birds back on the farm. That was the sole purpose in venturing into the project in the first place, not even now when egg consumption isn't for the poor again. |
Bodex2000: ![]() Sold off the birds. The temptation was just to sweet to resist. Lol Each went for N5,500 jare. . |
Macro-propagations Just recently, I have had reason to sell my suckers in large quantities. I have been thinking of the fastest ways to propagate them so I looked up the Macro-propagation method and tried it out. And since macro-propagation is a cost effective vegetative propagation technique, I intend using it to grow about a thousand seedlings of my best plantains & bananas. Attached are pictures of some I recently propagated

damble:Quite a difficult question to answer. Nothing is certain in Nigeria of today. The best of businesses are crumbling left, right, centre etc. The Agriculture sector (or any of its subsectors) is one of the most Hit in this period. Na only God fit determine the risk value. Take for example, I started this year buying a bag of feed for my birds at N9,800. As I type this, I am currently buying same bag for N28,900. Now tell me, how do I write a feasibility plan with such?... Nevertheless, I will try as much as possible to answer you. Factors I usually consider before venturing into any of my projects is; My availability for the project. Trust me, proxy farming always ends up bad. Ask yourself, how much time do I have on my hands? The second is, basic knowledge of what I intend going into.lol. Funny to say, I am first of all, a System Network Engineer (hard to believe right? . First Degree in Computer Engineering & Second degree in System Engineering) but my passion for agriculture has transformed me into ME of today. But my brother, I deeeey reeeeeeeeead. I still put in hours of research & study into anything I intend going into, be it vegetables or livestock farming. Farm practices always keep evolving, I don't intend to be left out on it. Just have basic knowledge before chosing what to go into.Thirdly, captial at your disposal!! Money answers all things ooooo my brother. Na money dey make project sweet oooo!!! Ideas full everybody head, na money be the koko. Money dey even reduce risk value I tell you. Your available capital is a big factor Fourthly, I always look at my market target. What's the point of producing if It doesn't translate to cash in my account? Eg. I chose pigs here because of the environment I found myself, badagry people (Egun), Ipokia, Ado, Lusada, Igbesa, Idanyin, etc are pork loving people. You literally can't host a party here without killing a pig. Lol... Know your market well & what sells faster & better there. Lastly, let me reiterate this; Pray without season. You no fit farm without believing in something ooooo!!! Rain no fall, u go pray, rain fall to much, na prayer, chicken sick, u go fight am with prayers... Even crops, you ask God for a bountiful harvest....God is essential in all aspects of a farmers life Biko. I can't over stress this point. |
CAPITALBEE:Aseeeeee Olodumare!!! |
dotunibrahim7:Don't mine me jare . Still praised her small anyways |

Wow... Just when I was asking God for something to celebrate about today, Suzzy put to bed.
|
Mariangeles:Yes, still rooted. I said cut, not uprooted. I only uproot the Ewedu. The Soko(s) are cut and allowed to grow bad. Next cutting should be in a week's time. |
FashionCapital:Misconception here. Like I said, the picture uploaded is from an harvested bed. Yes, those are already cut vegetables. |
IAmHim1: ![]() Thanks... Didn't know a Pepsi & Cowtail pepper soup once in about 2months could make one diabetic. |
IAmHim1:Thanks for the awareness, although my not taking alcohol wasn't born out of healthy living. I'm just a fan of Pepsi that's all. |
Pictures of the beds sold out... Firstly, My most valued asset, my 45k Crocs, my close companion...love u dieeee

O! Beautiful Thursday you are Ojó 'Bo or Ojó Alamisi“ This is the day on which names of the days arrived. It is a day on which Ancestors visit the family. This is why every important festival begins on Thursday- Ọjọ́ Bo / Ọjọ́ Alamisi. Woke up with a cheerful spirit, knowing fully well, it's going to be a beautiful blessed day. Just as I finished my early morning prayers to the One true God, my gate don dey make noise; gbam gbam gbam gbam!!! A fe ra Ewedu ati Soko ooo!!!. . (Make I no lie, na the bangs on the gate make me finish the prayer sharp sharp. Baba God forgive your son ooo).I got out of my small Hamlet on the farm, did a quick stretch, and screamed; I dey cooooome ooooooo, make unaaaa no break my gate because of Efo ooooo. ( walahi, my belle just dey sweet me). To cut the long story short, I was able to sell 4 Soko beds at N7,000. And about 1k Ewedu, making a total income of N8,000. Chai... Nothing will stop Iya Alaje from seeing me tonight, A plate of Cow tail pepper soup with a bottle of Pepsi (unfortunately, I don't take alcohol....chai, e pain me dieeeee). |
RainMoreDFARMS:Lol... All market na market o!!! Even if na 1. .i be confirm Igbo blood ooo. |
Ologunsunny:An acre...6 plots |
Mariangeles:Lol Unfortunately, pictures ain't loading |
Beautiful Wednesday Morning... This was unprecedented. These plantains keep using Genjustu for me. Just yesterday, I walked round the Plantains and didn't see these ripe ones already being eaten by birds. . ABEG, I don taya to dey keep watch every now and then jare!!! I have to carry out immediate cuttings of Plantains from that section of the farm biko. Make I know say plantain no dey that area again. I can't come & kill myself. ![]()
|
Mariangeles:Lol... Most are Nestle waste ooo!!! Although I sometimes consume the golden morn. But I strictly advice against anyone eating it biko. . |
Redman44:Oh.. me bad. What I mean by curing is simply composting the manure Oga mi. By doing this, it is ready to be used directly on the crops, no smells, most if the disease causing pathogens have been killed off etc. It smells like good soil by now. You can hardly ever tell it is pig manure after composting it. By His grace, I will upload pictures of my compost site tomorrow. |
The culprit |
Lol... Missed another one. Gussssh!!! .Still trying to know when to go round the farms & harvest. Wild birds just dey enjoy dey go. Most times, I get 5 to 10 bunches like this, almost half of it eaten up by bars & birds. It's a lucky day for my ducks & pigs. Make I go cut am give Dem. Plantain no b my first choice of 100 foods in the world . |
And Yes... I do use their manure only when completely cured & dried. The smell from their waste fit frustrate person comot for farm if not managed properly ![]() |
Mariangeles:Lol @ my sister. She literally saw them grow from little piglets into the ugly looking monstrous swine's. .That is another thing entirely. Will explain in details as the thread develops. Nevertheless, their diet ranges from Soybeans, Maize, dried cassavas peels, spent gains, cerelac/golden morn (chai... I follow chop this one Wella... ), vegetables / greens from my chopped plantain trees, waterleaves etc. |
