The spacing also helps in applying manure inbetween rows. Also, those who may want to apply Urea fertilizer. As for me, I don't intend using such. Team poop all the way. ![]() |
Kehfie:Hmmm... ( To the question asked, it's something close to a 6 by 3 student bed size. For the soko, something around 4/5inch spacing between plants, and 3inch for the Tete. (Approximately). |
madridguy:Thanks Boss!!! |
koxyz:Hmmm... nothing else is associated with what was initially posted. Everything else was done by me... from land clearing to burning the debris, making of beds, applying manure and finally, transplanting. Shikena!!! Well, this may not be applicable to all. You can pay for it if you chose to. For me, making the beds isn't such a big deal . I gave myself a target of making 4 beds per day till i populate the whole one plot. Na bed making I dey use while away boredom . . Likewise, manure from my poultry birds is been used. I have that in excess. And as for water, there's a borehole on the farm. Also, a well as a backup plan (I no get time to go dey look for fuel if light no dey and water finish for thank)Cost reduction is Key for me. gbam!!! |
Updates on the birds So far, so good. Mortality rate was minimal, a total of 10 birds were lost. Sold off the rest after series of pressures from buyers hahahahaha!!! Sold at 22 weeks at N4,700. Kept 115 birds to myself and they are presently giving me an average of 2 and Half crates a day. (Poor or not, make i leave them like that). |
For those inquiring about the pen I was building, it's been finished a long time ago. Will get my cages soon jare!!! I no wan rush myself biko...lol
|
Still very much into this project... Not abandoned biko . Like I said from the onset, the sole aim is to produce eggs for personal consumption and well, maybe sell some if it becomes too much to consume ![]() |
Cost Incurred So far Tete (African Spnach) - N2,000 Soko (Lagos Spinach) - N2,000 Oh, I almost forgot Ewedu - N2,000 Transportation = N1,700 And that's all. These seeds will take a long while before i exhaust them i swear. ![]() |
Likewise, the Tete (African spinach) is being nursed and should be ready for transplanting next week. Note: Vegetable is just a 1 month program. .

A quick view of what's presently happening on the plot of land.

Note,I am so keen on keeping production cost as low as possible & also a lover of organic farming. Therefore, 95% of what we will using is strictly compliance with organic farming ![]() |
While at it, I am going to be giving a detailed account of how much a plot of this vegetables will be giving at every harvest. Yea, i plan to use a plot on my farm to carry out this farming. Driving through Lasu- Iba road really gives me joy, looking at the open field filled with very green vegetables spun this project of mine. Moreover, let's see together if truly money dey this thing called vegetables that is hardly ever talked about here. |
Goodnews It's been a very tough year for farmers, both crop farmers and livestock farmers are taking hits on every sides. Even the best of business strategist & project managers have failed woefully in farming world. Recently, I have decided to put everything aside and simply go back to the basics, no cucumbers, no tomatoes , just the very basics. In short, no pilot projects, no experimental trials.... Na just to go plant wetin person wey never plant before fit do without any supervision and get it right. Moreover, my selection of vegetable to plant is simply Soko and Tete, no long story. Pleaseeeee, no Ugu for the matter. A paint bucket of Ugu seeds now goes for as much as 30k. Na instantly I ex my beloved Ugu. |

KIDfurniture:Unfortunately, no goats on the farm at the moment. |
The Usual Update ![]() One of the beautiful thing i love about my poultry is the invasion of snakes. After all these months of peaceful cohabitation between me and the pythons, one decided to go rough tonight. Just as I was about hitting the bed and calling it a day, I decided to do a quick check one last time. Lo and behold, Miss Python decided to breach our agreement by trying to climb the barrier and attacking my birds... . Sharp sharp, with my sharpened short cutlass, na so i sentenced the rough snake to snakeopia. Off with its head, with one mighty swing of my cutlass which has never disappointed me.

I knowwwww....it is damn overcrowded Nevertheless, the birds have been eating away my resources walahitalai!!! Damboroba shege banza!!! Thank God for the theme of this Year; No gree for anybody. I dey give them woto-woto. All things being equal, I should start having eggs next month .
|
azikiweironsi:hmmm... well, it's simply a mixture of Palleted wheat offal, pkc, enzymes, oysters shell and .... (I intentionally left out on what ratio). I introduced the feed to them since 9 weeks of age. |
Tijani009:Get a broiler program chart. |
Tijani009:For now, the prices of Broilers are overrated. Imagine buying a broiler DOC for a thousand plus (N1000+)? God forbids!!! |
Quick one For the ones who asked me on my Tg on the Enzymes I use in my cheap feed formulation, below is the picture. Faczyme multi feed enzymes BY Finely Animal Care.
