Well, I used oakbend and Dr E and was charged. I was admitted for induction by 9pm on 16th Feb. Had my baby by 8:30am on 17th. Got discharged on d 18th. Should have bn a day if d 16th wasn't counted. But twas counted for both baby and I. So maybe it's just luck?
Perhaps it's luck or perhaps is a little bit of asking questions after you get your final bill and holding them to the fine prints on the "package contract" @favougal says it correctly cos they (oakbend) won't charge you if you labour overnight or undergo induction-your physician might charge you for the latter and yes your 48hrs starts counting after you born and 72hrs if it's CS .

hi ringofGod, how did you get the bill of $5550 for northside hospital bill? is this new cos from what i know its 3550.
Abeg northside Atlanta mamas with baby boys , how did you go about circumsicion. I know like for gwinnette Oduro use to do it at his office instead of hospital which was somewhat cheaper. How is it at northside ? And cost Abeg ? Thank you

she said she was discharged the next day, i am assuming that means she spent only one day, so it will be cheaper, but if one day stay = $3,400. shocked hmmmm, lets wait for her response sha. I might be wrong
Re-read her post again cos she ,mentioned she paid the $6k deposit and got a refund cheque of $2.6k or so. So the quote Gwinnett gave is their standard practice now -If you don't use upto that you get a refund .

[quote author=blaize777 post=46869024]Babe I don't know how u re going about urs mine total for baby hospital and icu for 10days was 67k and 11k dollars dat total of 78k.i went der I acted drama for dem both shouting and crying did it on two occasions first tym I try it came down to 14k plus last wk I went again it

@blaize you had your baby at 36weeks+ and it was a singleton right. Temyb babies came at 31/33weeks shie + they are twins so both cases are different.
@Temyb quit worrying about the bills and concentrate on your babies-these things have a way of sorting itself out. + at the end of the day it's only you that can make the decision if you want to take Medicaid or not.

Ok good!
Thank you
Have you travelled?
How was the treatment at the layover? Hotel and food?
Yes, go with your fit to fly or medif form(if applicable-depending on how far gone you are will determine which you would need-check their website for details.
The layover hotel was nice oh! Food get k-leg so carry your snacks plenty with you but you will get enough drinks till you are high. The plane journey itself was okay but I have had better flight journeys -(Emirates fan-as them no dey come Atlanta I took Qatar instead) their arm rest thingy does not go all the way up when you are lying down . Both of my flights were not capacity full so there were plenty unoccupied seats to lie & sleep. So as you enter settle down they take eye check and as them they announce say doors should be closed -via a vis no more passenger entering use book/sweater/......take hold space cos those around you are thinking of doing the same thing-lol

Oh wow! So was your ticket still on hold the said Sunday because it was a Sunday?
If yes, then I can rest now. Cos men I can't afford to pay 800k and something for a new ticket.
I was beginning to panick though. I called Qatar US office and they said it's still pending.
Hopefully it's because today is Sunday that it's delaying.
Just call the Nigeria contact center in the morning; Plus as long as you paid within the time frame they stipulated on the booking- you will be fine. smiley

Thank you jiji.
I did transfer online to thier GTB account the naira equivalent. Reserved it yday for 298k but today the same ticket is 873k. I have 48 hours to make payment but wanna pay today to avoid stories that touch. I paid about 2 hours ago and On thier website it's still saying Ticket PENDING.
I will wait and see
Thank you
You reserved yesterday so you have till tomorrow at about the same time you made your initial reservation to make payment so you are good unless their payments terms have changed . Either way you don pay and today is Sunday -not a working day. So your ticket go come tomorrow -hope you remember to include your booking reference sha. Or just call in the morning- I had to call cos I did my transfer on a Sunday also

Please who have used Qatar airlines and how did you pay to them directly!
They have ecobank and standard bank as thier banks on the website and they also posted their naira accounts.
I want to be sure before my money will enter voicemail
Please guide
Thanks
I paid via bank transfer -Internet banking into their naira account with Eco bank( include your booking reference in transfer description part) I paid the equivalent of the usd amount (used the currency converter on their website) and called the next day with my reference number and my payment was seen and my ticket was issued straight up and they also sent the hotel voucher asap in a separate email. Some people would call them for the naira amount to pay while others would go to the bank and they would do that.

I have a feeling that he/she might be one of those Houston poe officers.
Lol- u fit correct oh!
@ MadameU I would say that u should utilize the blank space at the end of the ds160 wella. Explain the situation as in what the Mhis package was in 2014 and how it differs from present;Including that you would come in with a copy of the old contract. I think varvara still has it if you didn't make a copy of yours.
@amother4life I would implore you learn to be sensitive. If you can go on google to pull up and screenshot Mhis contract then you can as well read up parts 1,2&3 of these thread

It's one thing to be denied a visa because you 'misrepresented' or cannot show that you have enough ties to your home country, or........and its another thing for the consular officer to say you took public funds when you know you did not. it's just very annoying on top say u can't even express you anger or defend your case well before them tell you to leave.
Most people when they go for their interview usually state when asked about how much you intend to spend on giving birth in the usa, would say 10-15kusd or higher depending on the budget sheet you have prepared and wetin they your bank account. + the focus is usually on the medical cost and I'm not saying accommodation!transport et al are unimportant but it's written below. And as with most uncomplicated births esp vaginal births you dont spend up to that. More so, as most make I no say all as I never contact all hosp wey dey us, give discounts of varying percentages to the self paying patients and depending again on if naa a for profit/private or ngo owned or govt hosp one choose to use- the price vary.
Make person try contact hosp like cedar Sinai,L.A compare am to st francis, L.A and see the difference. All for this our American dream cos plenty people dey wey all this show zero bal,.........no dey come up for interview or Poe .
So MadameU + others wey this Mhis or 'too low hosp reciepts ' affect just prepare well, arrange and go with your supporting documents and in fact utilize that blank section on your ds160 -coherently state your facts like tomorrow no dey and above pray for God's Favour .x

What they give for free is tap water though. The thing has a little taste to me.

A lot of them drink it though

Water at Walmart or sam's club especially their own brand called right choice is ridiculously cheap
Buy water filter-the jug type and fill from your tap cos even Americans themselves drink tap water.

Not like I am defending J and J, but read the actual article.

It is not their baby products that was slammed with a law suite. It was their feminine wash that the woman claimed gave her ovarian cancer, which cannot be proven, because nobody else has come up with this complaint.
The baby powder is included and not just the feminine product -the culprit is the talc in it .

Not sure if this is stale but we can't be too careful.

I bought so many of their products for my first child cry

Why evils.
It's not just Johnson and johnson oh! Check them other brands too- they contain talc except a few. Plus, before now pediatricians don dey talk am on the use of all ' these products ' on baby's skin especially infants. So my 2 cents check with your peadiatrician and not just any doctor on what's best to use on your baby.

Thanks a lot. Can you do send the money to any account like a personal account in the UD or it has to be an account like a school or hospital? I mean, for example- can I send money to my sisters account in the US using this method you mentioned above. Would the bank agree to do that?
It's for medical/school fees oh and not personal accounts transfer. Just use it to pay for your hospital fees and dr fees and have your PTA as your 'vex money' and for additional expenses, shopping et al.

Hi everyone,
How's everyone doing? While reading through the thread I noticed some people mentioned sending money directly to an American account and the bank with do that at the CBN rate. May be I'm not getting it right hence my confusion. How does this work? Is this what the form A is about? Can someone shed some light on this? I thought you have to put the dollars (you got by yourself) in your domicilliary account before you can send it to the US.
Basically, you request for and present the invoice(s)with wire transfer details from your hospital+/- doctor in the U.S to your bank here in Nigeria and they would bid on your behalf with the CBN and then debit your naira account once the transaction sails through. You get debited at the prevailing officially CBN rate for the day.

P.S some banks will require additional documents other than just invoice from a U.S hospital/specialist. Check with your bank,

I used Northpointe Obgyn. They have 4 doctors within their organisation. Please note that there are several obgyns affiliated to Northside Hospital.

Altlanta women's health group is another Obgyn office. So they will have different rates/rules. You can ask for the cost of the tests and if they will accept your test from Nigeria.
North pointe obgyn is now an affiliate of Atlanta women's health group.
