Travel / Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by jinglesbaby: 4:48pm On Feb 12, 2017
That's a good question, you know! Hmmm, I blieve it is one at a time! If things happen such that admission comes before you conclude your PR plans, you might want to think about processing your application outside Nigeria. Processing immigration things most times are quicker outside Nigeria depending on what you are applying for.

Many thanks

Please, can loan (from bank and other sources) be used as POF after ITA is received? If yes, is it a case of moving loan from one account to another active account so that the source cannot be traced and verified easily especially if it were a bank loan?

Then, is employment verified? For example, can my father's friend or mother's friend who has his/her own firm provide me with a letter of employment for three years and reference or do I have to provide payslips and paystubbs to that effect?

For degree evaluation, is it true that APEGS (or engineering profession regulator) strictly requires WES? Does this requirement vary from province to province? Do you need a licence to get a job or can you get an engineering job without licence? Lastly, if I am nominated by Ontario or another province, do I have to fulfil residency requirements in that province before I can secure citizenship? I have heard all sorts of testimonies so please kindly help answer my questions, if you can?

Thank you.

Black market USD is now #500! Oh lawd, I need to start saving up cash! The thing about foreign exchange is that you can buy at #500 today and tomorrow, it will be sold at #300! Then, recurring and new expenses will not even make you have ready cash sef for your mission until you are truely ready!

Hahaha! #Another Lufthansa chronicles! Still remember my experience in October 2015 when I was sweating onboard despite the fact that it was autumn!
Thank God you were all fine at the end of the day. Emirates did me strong things too on my way from Dubai but my mum was doing 'eye service' for their Customer Serv supervisors!
When I start doing 'eye service' for you, just know you dnt mean much to me again! Dnt want to say you mean nothing. Eye wey don see finish and ear wey don hear finish! #Sips cranberry juice! I promised myself a long long time ago never to 'sweat small stuff' and just start 'throwing shades' in true Britico fashion! Life is too short, try to enjoy each day whilst you are still here on earth no matter how tough! It is not only the mad man roaming the streets naked that has mental health problems as a matter of fact (no b me talk am)! #Were alasho naa wa like my mum and grandma of blessed memory would say! smiley

Hello mamas and papas! How is everyone doing?
It is time for me to give back. I already shared my Poe experience a couple of months ago. I used hospital of providence in El Paso through doctores. Fees are pretty much the same as quoted on their website. It was a wonderful experience for me. Delivery room was too fine, felt like I was in a luxurious hotel room grin
I was in El Paso for about 14 weeks. I stayed at Extended stay America. Cost- $2600
I have used this hotel for my previous visits to the U.S. So it was perfect for me. Room was nice, staff were friendly.
Hospital bill- $2700 for vaginal delivery
Obgyn- $ 2500
Ultrasound can- $200
Hearing test- $267
Pathology for baby- $190
Pathology for me- $90
Circumcision- $185
Transportation- I used uber, very convenient and cheap compared to regular cabs. Since Naira denominated cards are now restricted for use abroad, you can link your dollar card.
Pediatrician- $250, then subsequent visit $70
My mum joined me a month after I arrived El Paso, thank God for her life. My mother in law also came to El Paso hehehehe... Lucky me.
Birth certificate was ready after 4 working days, consent form was notarized at US embassy in Abuja. Hubby mailed it through DHL, received it after 2 working days.
U.S. Passport- $165 for expedited fee, it took 1 working day.
I had the passport 3 weeks before I was due to travel home, I didn't want any stories with Naija visa or passport
Naija visa- $385, took 3 working days. I tried to call Tanko several times but he didn't pick, neither did he reply any of my messages. So I contacted Eddy in ATL.
Infant ticket- $380, I also paid for bassinet seat for $35 per route i.e hou- fra, then fra-Naija
Lufthansa gave me a lot of headache concerning this infant ticket, after paying for the ticket I thought everything was ok only for me to go to the airport to make enquiries requiring excess luggage and I was told my baby didn't have a ticket. I immediately called their customer service and they said it was rectified and that the ticket was issue and sent to my mail box. When we got to Houston on our way home, I tried to get a boarding pass for myself, my mum and my baby. Only for me to receive the shock of my life that my baby doesn't have a ticket. I almost shouted the airport down. Unfortunately my phone got bad and I couldn't show the infant ticket I had to the man at the check in counter. I asked him to call Lufthansa that there was no way I could pay for a bassinet seat without having an infant ticket. He told me he doesn't call airline customer services for passengers shocked can you imagine? This is a staff for Lufthansa o. I was so pained. Told me that we will not fly that my baby doesn't have a ticket. Somehow I remembered the confirmation number for my baby's ticket because it was similar to mine. He still said he couldn't find it on his system. That I should look for a pay phone and call Lufthansa. At this point I was really pissed. He then had the nerve to ask why I was shouting at him when he was trying to help. Help how? When he blatantly refused to call to find out what was going on. I walked out and my mum was already panicking. Our phones were not working. I eventually found a pay phone and then the announcement was made that boarding was about to start. I was able to speak to a customer care agent and I poured out my frustration on the poor woman. This thing pained me because I was told in confidence that my bs bay's ticket had been issued and now I was almost stuck in Houston. The lady said my baby has a ticket, I screamed at her that why is the man at the counter telling me rubbish that my baby cannot fly. I demanded for the ticket number and to my dismay it was completely different. The lady apologized profusely and said I should go back to the counter that she will hold on.
I marched back to the check in counter and gave him the ticket number. His supervisor was already saying I should pay for another ticket there, then later they will refund the money for the first ticket please read the last statement I made. How can they refund the money for the first ticket when they claimed I didn't have a ticket for my baby to start with. I just ignored the man. The first man that attended to me now said that the machine isn't accepting the ticket. I bluntly told him that it was his problem not mine. He should rectify it and give me the boarding passes. He then had to call Lufthansa. I said " I thought you said you don't call Lufthansa office for passengers"? This same airline refused to send me the correct ticket and you as a staff working for the airline you cannot assist. Let me stop here abeg, I am already getting angry recalling this nasty ordeal.
Bottom line is we got our boarding passes and we got home safely. My little king behaved. Flight was cool. The air hostesses adored him. I forgot to add that excess luggage was $200 per box. I wish everyone well. God bless you all.

Just get it here if you can except it's malaria medication that you need. DH used 20kNGN to UPS meds that did not cost up to 5kNGN and then he had to get prescription for it due to US food and drug rules! When it got here, they asked for another $25 for taxes before they could release the meds to me ooo! I carry my "kaya" waka fast oooo! Luckily, we were able to get another set of meds brought in thru his friend which proved useful cos my mum was a bit down when she got here and I just told her right away to use those drugs after the nurses at home recommended some pain killers and fever drugs that did little. Long story short, the malaria drugs worked and she was back on her feet shortly after she used it!

Whenever you are travelling from Nig to obodo-oyinbo for some months stay, I would always recommend having malaria drugs cos some MDs here dnt understand how to treat the illness called "malaria". I experienced it in UK and some peeps here have family members who have experienced it too!

Hi All,

Sorry I couldn’t post for a while. My DW & LO returned home many weeks ago. Thank God the journey went well. The breakdown of all bills paid (for CS) are:

Oakbend (Hospital fees): $3625
Dr F (Fees & Tests): $3150
NICS: $551.62
Epidural: $950 (Only got a Zero Balance Statement by email. No receipt was issued)
Brown & Associates: $208
Pediatrician Visit: $75
* DW cancelled hearing test
Baby’s ticket on Lufthansa: $444

BC came out 3 days after discharge. DW paid $23 for 1 copy

SSN Card came in the post 1 week after delivery.

I notarized the consent form at the US Embassy in Abuja & sent to DW by DHL immediately after baby was born.

US passport was expedited $165 (Same day collection as DW had booked appointment on phone)
Naija visa was processed by Tanko. It took 3 days via express mail.

We thank God for His faithfulness and loving-kindness and this is wishing everyone on this forum God’s blessings and He will definitely intervene in everyone’s situation & grant each and everyone favour in Jesus name.

Thanks dear. I had the inkling that they were multi-directional cos the moment I type ' rear-facing baby stroller', I get pics of strollers that are forward facing for babies. The issue here is that it is only when you put the car seat that it becomes rear-facing. Is it not possible for the stroller itself to be rear-facing? God bless you for helping out.

79.84 dollars first pic
139.97 secon pic. I depends on how you installed it. Most strollers can face diff directions

Hi everyone,
Please, where can I find rear-facing (mum-facing) stroller? I have checked everywhere and online but cant seem to find any. I saw a grandma with one yesterday evening but was too afraid to ask her/her daughter where they bought it from. Any helpers? This might be of benefit to all expectant mums out there as well. Thanks in advance for helping out.

Amen in Jesus name for us all on this journey incl those prepping to go! God bless you favoured gal! 3M no dey reach again ooo, God help us all. Had accommodation arranged in ATL but I had to stick with my original birthing plans in TX cos I dnt want issues when it's time to renew.
Na my DH I carry gold medal give for this waka! May God keep upholding our DH IJN. It really does not matter what ur combined household income is, birthing in US these days is luxury oooo! Those who gave birth in US before this new CBN rule had a narrow escape. I just pray salaries are reviewed in Nigeria very soon. Personally, I dnt think I would visit US again except of crse my DH insists and I even have a lot to do sef. Tired of US & UK and Europe is not safe anymore sef.

Wow

Thanks dear. I know that it is a personal thing because I was not even checked at all the airports I travelled through which is not the same for many. It was just out of curiousity that I decided to ask ni ooo, not that I am pre-occupied. I have more important things to worry about dear like can I live here permanently? My baby sef does not let me worry about anything

feddy27:

I've come to understand in this birthing waka that online reviews are misleading! Always look out for people that have had FIRST HAND EXPERIENCE THAT YOU CAN RELATE WITH. This thread is a good avenue for such. Read thru the post of those that used the hospital and see if there are pros and cons. Remember your business with the hospital is just once and that's at delivery. Take a tour yourself, discuss with the staff on ground and work closely with your doctor. He should guide you and calm your fears if you have any.

Most importantly, have an open mind! Don't be preoccupied with the negative things you hear else you won't be pleased by anything you see there

Hi All,

If one changes POE or decides to use another hospital and Dr? For eg, If I move from Houston to LA, what are the risks involved especially at renewal?
Secondly, St Francis seems to have bad reviews online generally so this got DH and I worried coupled with the fact that we know nobody there. Has anybody experienced anything bad so far at this hospital?

Yeah, thanks.
Is it truely $2700 for hospital, epidural, pediatrics, labs plus scan?
$1000 for doc plus 1st visit and registration?
And for rent, can I pay for a room at $800 per month and does it include bills too?
