Please anyone going to Canada should be get their covid 19 vaccine card and scan the barcode attached to it via qr scanner to indicate you have been vaccinated at least twice. And also have your covid 19 test result 72 hours to ur departure in Nigeria. To avoid stories that touch oh. Very important.

It is very possible to apply to many countries at a time, but note that these countries communicate with themselves about applicants, and if Canada get to know that an IRCC study permit applicant is at the same time applying for another study Visa to the United Kingdom, it may not go down well with them cos the applicant would have stated the beautiful reasons why he or she wanna study in Canada in his or her SOP/LOE, only for them to see same applicant is applying for another study Visa in the UK or any of the developed Countries...

Applying to another country while your application is still on in Canada is not a stated reason for refusal, the final decision just depends on how te VO handling the application would take it...

Write an LOE ASAP addressing purpose of going for the intended program and source of fund. You must answer questions such as; what does your sponsor do? and how did they raise the money?.
And lastly attach proofs such as CAC documents, pictures of establishment, receipts from business e.t.c
NB: Sorry for the late response. It's hard to keep up with Nairaland when you're working and studying. All the best to you.

Before the gurus declares, My own advice;

While reapplying;
Find a why to link your sponsor to your parent, if the sponsor is really ur family, please upload connecting birth cert bottom to top and family tree can also be a good diagram analogy.

Submit your sponsor's business evidence; CAC doc, pictures if possible, invoices if necessary, work Id and the likes.

Make sure yur previous cert is in line with ur intended program of study and infact a higher lever certificate or if u r intending another course other than ur previous studies then it should be related to your current profession or job so there should be a career link.

Be well detailed in your SOP and LOE.

Universities in Canada don't mention on their page whether they offer Fully-funded scholarships or not, they mostly mention "tuition and financial aid" in a generic man.

His CGPA looks good, but NO BI ONLY CGPA DEY DO AM.

Getting a Fully-funded scholarship in a Canadian university is just like when you want to mine a mineral resources. It can be overwhelming but againt all odds, those who are intentional about getting it do get it.

For your friend to stand a Chance of getting a Fully-funded Graduate opportunity/opportunities in an Optometry Research area

He should have research areas in Optometry (at least 3 to 4 Research Areas) he wants to work on for his masters cos professors who are specialists in those research areas in Canadian universities are the ones he would reach out to via mail (Cold Mail)

Your friend should go through the links, below thoroughly, check each of the Professors Research focus, publications, etc., also check the research lab/groups, once he finds the ones he has a match with in terms of his research interests, he should cold mail (non generic) each of those professors.

But before your friend start cold mailing any of those profs, he needs to seat down , take his time to draft an Academic CV (well-detailed), and get his transcript ready cos those two documents gonna be attached to the series of non-generic cold mails he would be sending to each professors.

Tell your friend to join this platform so he can ask further questions cos there are Fully-funded Graduate students on this platform, they would be able to give him some based on experience information.

He should also do further research and not limit his research to my post cos google is still his friend

Paper application kwa, in 2021, nawa oo. Nothing person no go hear untop all these agent matter. Flee from the agent, it's obvious he's clueless. Find a way to get your docs from him, u are better off running ur application urself with all the info on this forum, u can as well enlist the help of any of the gurus here if ur profile is complicated.

I have absolutely no idea how highly regarded a gift of deed is in a VO's point of view. However, It's better if the property is in your home. It shouldn't be your main home tie. I didn't submit any landed property documents. Your main home tie should be career prospects in your home country. Don't emphasize too much on the property ownership. Just mention you own one and it was gifted to you by your mum.
