I specifically said if camera is the main reason for getting this phone, people should just look elsewhere. There are far better options.

It's obvious that you don't know the importance of a powerful chipset in a device.
Think of chipsets as the brain, heart & soul of a device, giving a smartphone all kinds of abilities.
Have you ever been told or wondered why some certain phones can't take 64MP cam?
Have you ever wondered why some phones can take 18GB ram (Asus ROG 5) and some can't take up to 8GB?
Why do you think games lag when the graphics setting is been jacked up?
It's simply the CHIPSET.
I'll say this clearly to you, the price of a device is determined by the chipset been used, every other thing is bonus. So if a brand is offering a device with a chipset inferior to the price offered when the competition is offering a device with similar chipset performance for less, it is considered a scam, rip-off... However you wanna call it.

CAR'S ARE LIKE SMART PHONES

This is a long write, and there are bound to be typos, but I'll try my best to make you understand what I'm intending to liken the situation to.

You would agree with me that buying a vehicle, requires experience, performance, utility, millage, durability etc

And there are brands of cars that meets most terrains in different class or order

Also there are brands of phones that meets or are intended to serve certain purposes to it's capacity.

Knowing this, then it's acceptable that cars from different brands come in different class

Low class, middle class, luxury and exotic

Now the highest or should I say flagship or maybe the high-end in this case should be the cars from the exotic class

Toyota is a popular car brand in Africa, and this car would be our case study.

Note this, if we classify flagships or high-end as premium, then it's safe to say the Seqiua, Tundra or Toyota Land Cruiser should be the exotic in this context, and probably among the most expensive (not that accurate though, but in reality these cars are termed exotic in African terms and that's what we're going to follow)


Then the Middle class (mid-range in this case) should be the Avalon, Highlanders, Tacoma, RAV4, Hilux and maybe The Camry.

And then the low class (entry level and budget s) should be the Avensis, Corolla, Yaris, ECho, AYGo, Celica, Tarcel etc.



LIKE ENGINE'S, LIKE CHIPSETS

If you would agree with me, when buying a car either brand new or used, the most important thing to look out for is the engine

A sound engine guarantees sound and proper millage, but then the kind of car you're intending to buy comes with a type of engine that suits it's terrain

The engine controls almost 89% of every activities on the car, so therefore it's safe to call it the Brain

We can also liken that to the chipset of a smartphone the chipset is the engine and it controls over 95% activities on a smartphone

A high end chipset would definitely give you a high-end performance a mid-range or lower end on the other hand gives a low or pretty good at best avarage performance.

Engines most common with Nigeria and African road terrains are V8, V6, 4plug engines

A lot of us knows about engines and their powers the higher the engine, the higher the horse power and probably maybe the torque

The high-ends (exotic) in our case are cars with V8 engines.

The mid ranger (middle class) are cars with V6 engines

And the entry level/budget (lower class) are engines with 4 plugs

In the case of chipset, we're going to just deal on three SD886, Mediatek dymensity 700 and Mediatek G95

The SD 886 is the highest here

The Mediatek dymensity 700 in this case falls in the mid-ranger

The Mediatek Helio G95 falls on the lower class (this is originally a mid-ranger, but in this comparison, it's the lowest and cheapest among them


Now back to Toyota, if you're interested in buying maybe the high-end that matches the African terrains, rough patches, muddy roads etc then the Land Cruiser, got that covered both in luxury and power with it's powerful V8 engines.

Since the Land Cruiser matches luxury and power, it would be highly insane if Toyota puts a 4plug engine inside. Poor torque

A car designed for power, must definitely come with a powerful Engine so the Land Cruiser will always get a powerful V8 engines

On the other hand, A car meant for light and everyday casual use and also to ply simple terrains, will require a lighter and less power demanding engine, the Toyota Corolla or Yaris comes to the picture

You can't alter the power installed on it, i.e using it all day on a muddy roads and bumpy roads and moults, it doesn't work that way.

So the Toyota Corolla or Yaris will definitely come with a 4plug engine.

Now freinds, if Toyota should produce the 2022 Land Cruiser and installed the 4plug engine inside and then retails it for the price of a high-end Land Cruiser what would happen?

Your guess is as good as mine, they will start losing loyal customers maybe to Land Rover™ Range Rover that really comes with a proper V8 engines

A FLAGSHIP SMARTPHONE WITH AN INFERIOR ENGINE THAT RETAILS FOR THE PRICE OF A HIGH END IS SCAM

TECNO phantom X is like a Toyota Land Cruiser with a Corolla engine installed and still retailed for the price of a high-end flagship phone

That's what every sane person will call scam.

That's why sane people who were loyal to the brand would leave the phantom X and rather go for Land Rover ™ Range Rover i.e Samsung Galaxy S20 Fe with a befiting snapdragon 886 in the same price range (heck it's even cheaper)

I think we've touched just about every part of this phone to be honest.
I watched valor's review (YouTube) on this phone & he wished tecno used a Dimensity 1000+ chipset to better justify the price tag.
One part that got me laughing was where he played Genshin Impact at Max Settings, I noticed some stuttering then next thing he said was the phone got so hot he decided to iron his shirt with it.
With that said, the main selling points of the phantom X are the design & no ads. If camera is what you need, lol... Look elsewhere.
And if you're willing to splash the cash (250k), lol... I trust my 9ja niggas, iPhone XS Max (used), iPhone 11 (used), S10+, S20Fe, Mi 10Tpro, POCO F3, OnePlus 8 & more will do justice to that price tag.

Though I feel you're being too harsh in pitching G95 against Snapdragon 888 because even the likes of Snapdragon 750G, 765G upwards with 6gb Ram beats this chipset quite comfortably. G95 is in league with 720G and 732G in real life performance & benchmarks.
But the phantom x has a nice design overall.

In Transsion's world this is considered a flagship especially with Phantom & Infinix Zero series.
But in the real world, it's honestly no where near flagship level.
If don't know anything about chipsets and you doubt me, just check Mediatek's Dimensity series which are suppose to be MTK's flagships and compare them to Snapdragon 865+ & co, you'll see my point.
And I don't know if Tecno will official tag this as a flagship device bearing in mind that it's not still in league with Snapdragon 750G upward.
Anyways they're coming up though. Make we dey encourage them, once upon a time Tecno dishes out devices slapped with MTK's Helio P35 & tags it as Flagship.

Actual capacity = 14,000mAh approx.

If you cannot remember this formula, then always remember this. A powerbank can only deliver approximately two-thirds (2/3) of the advertised capacity. This means that a 5,000mAh would deliver approximately (5,000 x 2/3=) 3,400mAh. A 10,000mAh would give approximately (10,000 x 2/3 =) 6,700mAh. A 30,000mAh can give out 20,000mAh approximately.

How much charge can a powerbank actually give

Now that we have seen how powerbank capacity is being calculated, how much charge a powerbank gives out, especially to a phone is not an exact science. If a phone is used while being charged, work done could be equal to zero. If the phone was left alone or even switched off, then the powerbank would accurately charge its battery properly. The age of the powerbank and its charge capacity is also another factor to look at. Powerbanks tend to lose capacity as they age. A 2 year old, 20,000mAh powerbank may only have 10,000mAh left.

Do powerbanks destroy phone batteries?

Yes and no. A good powerbank has no negative effect on your battery. It should come with a good circuit board to ensure safe and quality charging. A bad powerbank on the other hand would destroy your battery. This is why it is important to buy powerbanks from reputable brands instead of cheap generic brands from roadside vendors.

How to choose a good powerbank

The first step is to always do research. A lot of people are too lazy these days to do research. Read reviews and learn to distinguish between real and paid reviews. Manufacturer’s brand name and reputation matter a lot here as well. Names like Anker, Aukey, Romoss, Xiaomi etc. should come to mind.

Check the powerbank’s specs (input, output, capacity etc.) as well. If a spec looks too good to be true, it probably is. Someone once showed me a 100,000mAh powerbank. I laughed it off and said it was a scam. The bigger the capacity, the heavier the powerbank. Always do your research before splashing your cash.
