NTSA: From a simple google search SA has 750,000KM of road network 30% of that is paved which means around 225,000km . Joburg is 1,645 km² that is like 40km x 40 km .....with all the buildings in Joburg how many kilometers of road would fit in that space.?
over 20000kms
Also I'm quoting figures for the entire Joburg metro not just the city
Mkenya2019: There you go with half-truths. How can you can Joburg have more road network than kenya Joburg held a world cup - Kenya has two stadiums - nyayo and kasarani over 30k - and many stadiums - for different sports. Nairobi mall market is arguably fastest growing in Africa.
There is really nothign Nairobi cannot close in 10yrs.
Pay attention like the rest of the world has started to do;
Nairobi cannot become world 4th most dynamic city for nothing.
And it just got started.
interesting seeing those rankings....some of those cities are ranked near the bottom when it comes to QOL(Nairobi included)
And yes the paved Road network in Joburg is indeed larger than Kenya....
Maybe Kenya can catch Joburg in 10 years... But certainly not Nairobi
NTSA: You would have phrased it like this..Jorburg has x kilometers of road network while the whole of kenya has x kilometers . Otherwise you are just blowing hot air .
I've literally done that as well...another reason why regulars on this thread aren't even debating this point
Mkenya2019: Kenya is catching up including in infrastructure. Nairobi proper has most of it's road paved. Nairobi Metro - this large joburg suburbs - there is huge deficit - this is why Nairobi Metro need 10yrs to catch up - and kenya as whole 15yrs.
Watch this video - before you talk from point of ignorance
I don't have to watch videos to know the facts on the ground..... As I said just the road and rail net work in Joburg alone is more than the entire Kenya, Johannesburg has 6 x 30000+ seater stadiums..... Kenya has 1, there are more malls in Joburg than the entire Kenya, there are more airports in Joburg alone than in Kenya, that's not even mentioning Joburgs BRT system and gautrain....
As I said, when Kenya has caught up to Joburg then we can talk.
NTSA: Please verify your claims with a reputable source.
I already did.... Consult the archives, I posted sources/links from PHASA as well conservation research done in Kenya and Nigeria hence why nobody is even debating these facts with me anymore
Mkenya2019: Nairobi is 4th most dynamic city in the world - and CNN claim to be fastest growing. Showing a few cranes will not change the fact. The fact is about half kenya cement consumption is happening in Nairobi. That about 4 million metric tonnes being poured on buildings.
Nairobi will beat Joburg very very soon.
Kenya will take a little while.
I see kenya catching South Africa in cement consumption in less than 5yrs.
the Road and Rail network in Joburg alone is larger than your entire country.... Once Kenya has caught up to Joburg then we can talk about Nairobi catching Joburg
Abohboy: Tha graph isn't total greenhouse gas it is a specific chemical and the reason why they produce less is due to the more advanced catchment technology
kabe1: I doubt it. Total payment for the 3 x units is 185 million USD.
I can't remember where I saw payment has been completed, but I would search for it and post.
Im pretty sure it's payment just for the 3 JF-17 NAF already bought..... There would have been an announcement either from NAF and definitely from the manufacturer if it is indeed a purchase for additional JF17
kabe1: 2022 budget proposal: NAF will replace both Beechcraft 350i ISR/ liaison aircrafts lost in fatal accidents earlier this year with 2 new King Air 360.
. Additional order for 3 x JF-17
• An earlier order for 1 Aw-139 has been changed to 2x Aw109 Trekker helicopters.
• Reactivation of 2x AS332 Super Puma’s.
balance payment for PDM of 3x L-39za (I believe these are the 3 aircrafts upgraded in Czech Republic)
• PDM and upgrade of 3 Mi series helicopters
Looking at the document its just a payment for the 3 JF-17 NAF already bought not 3 additional jf17s
Roan77: I don't need a fabricated story as an evidence, I need an actual facts, the rest are story. But the fact stands, your thefts in uniform were massacred for nothing.
do you know how to debate? You are supposed to bring evidence to support your claims..... If you keep debating like a ret@rd I'm going to start ignoring you since I'm scared of hights and can't dumb down to your level
Shma2020: Your trepidation is irredeemable. You're just arguing for argument sake. It's better you understand the root of all this before you bring in your controversial opinion.
The bone of contention was Nairobi catching up with jorburg. You just proved my previous point that jorburg is dormant. Nairobi is growing at a fast rate and thus, it will only take less than 8yrs for Nairobi to catch up & even overtake jorburg on horizontal infrastructure. In vertical, whether you're building or not, Nairobi has already catch up. And with the construction boom of skyscrapers in Nairobi, I don't see if jorburg can stand Nairobi in vertical infrastructure 5yrs to come.
My guy. You're confused. I never said mashujaa park museum will be the biggest in africa. It will be among the biggest if not the biggest - comprehend this point before coming up with another contradicting opinion. We're talking about growth rate and when they will interject. It's not about jorburg vs Nairobi. For now jorburg is ahead - in eight yrs, jorburg will be dead.
Your last paragraph rings ignorance. No one is comparing Nairobi with jorburg of today. Horizontal infrastructure which you're talking about was tackled already by me & jln115.
when kenya has a railway and road network that has caught up with Joburg alone then we can talk
rvp2018: Who has said there is comparison - south africa is ahead of kenya is nearly all things - but at least in terms of tall building - soon you'll be coming to Nairobi to marvel at them - I doubt you can afford to go further than that.
Kenya as whole is 15yrs from South Africa - Nairobi 10yrs from joburg - all this based on the current trends - where kenya is developing very fast and south africa is basically stuck,
my bru the amount of capital in SA dwarfs that of Kenya.....if SA doesn't have money to build then Kenya certainly doesn't
rvp2018: You are no longer cannot afford to build it - otherwise you built Leonardo. Your economy cannot generate formal jobs required to fill such office spaces. That is all. Dead economy has no demand for effective economy.
Kenya cement consumption is approaching 8M tonnes - South Africa is at 13M - for a country with 10m more people and twice as big as kenya.
The slight edge you have on Nairobi - is going to disappear soon. From malls, to data centers, name it - infrastructure - all of it - we are catching up.
Kenya as whole is one big construction site.
As for silly neigberhood debate - all you need is to get a map of Nairobi metro built up area - and compare to province of Gauteng - it's pretty close.
might want to recheck your figures bru SA is consuming twice as much cement as kenya
Abohboy: No it'snot what happens in reality it is what happens when you use poor technology and depend on cheap fossil fuels for all your energy needs China and America definitely produce more electricity from coal then South Africa but their levels aren't as high, you'd wonder why at first but the answer is clear the technology is more advanced there
both China and the USA rank far above SA in terms of greenhouse gas production
Shma2020: Jorburg is not building any viaduct road as we're speaking - Nairobi is building 4 different viaduct roads.
Jorburg is not constructing any 30+ fls as we speak. Nairobi is construction 12, 34fls - not including GTC. Those are grand projects that only Egyptian new cities can rival at the moment.
Nairobi is building one of the biggest museum in Africa, mashujaa park. Nairobi has just topped out 6 GTC 43fls, 37fls, 33fls, 31fls, 30fls, 30fls modern apartments and finishing is underway.
If you could reason with evidence, everything will be alright my nigga
my bru wasn't the highest building in Africa just completed a year or so ago in Sandton? Not to mention the over 20 building projects currently under construction in Sandton alone....not even mentioning the greater Joburg yet.
And a viaduct ain't anything special bru, it's been around for centuries.... Just remember the paved Road network in Joburg alone is more than the entire kenya
Shma2020: Only jorburg and Capetown are ahead of Nairobi. The rest should compete with Accra or Lagos.
again the paved Road network and rail network in Pretoria alone dwarfs that of Nairobi... Not to mention the fact that Pretoria has a world class brt system, gautrain and brand new prasa passenger trains.
mtisTheQubit: I see opportunity out of despair for poverty stricken Africa countries. But not for all of them. See now countries like Naija got massive issues..same as Ghana or .... but that good coz ..See when you are poor you tend to hustle a lot ..You don’t sit ya lazy bum like some folks I know.. An yes am talking of SA.They kinda like ths kids with rich dads who just become lazy by default. Happens all the time.So when someone says Kenya will overtake a certain country trust me it will soon …happen. Its a circle of life.Ya poor .. you struggle..get rich..your kids become lazy..they become poor..an the loops continues.. So problem with SA is that its comfortable with what it has..very dangerous I say
fair enough however it wasn't long ago that Nigeria topped the list for most aids related deaths......
But that being said, how is it possible that even with the massive aids problem we have in SA we still have a higher life expectancy by nearly 10 years in fact??
Shma2020: Are you listening to yourself? You think I can't go and fact check this nonsense on Google? Why are speaking as if though Only a south african can have access to Google .
Truth of the matter. Two rivers is 7th best in Africa. Forget about SA. And i was not arguing with a Nigerian. I think a SA makes sense on this topic than a random Nigerian refugee in SA.
Jorburg is ahead but not how you guys are putting it. In fact, jln115 was making sense on this topic and that's why I specifically choose this topic with him.
uhm bru!!! Canal Walk is 141 000m2.........Its bigger much bigger....and I prefer the architecture of Canal Walk which has an Italian vibe to it
and like I said before, he 10th biggest mall in SA is still nearly twice as big as Two rivers,,,,,,
"In all, the fight cost 13 killed and 27 wounded. But the force retained its cohesion throughout and was able to fall back from two separate engagement areas to its base and to hold it until their attackers gave up trying to overrun them, offering, instead, a ceasefire and disengagement. By then they had suffered as many as 800 killed, according to the estimates of officers with considerable operational experience and by some NGOs in the country."
Roan77: No, this particular quote is for your denial of white people, or your security personnel not killing any black protesters, again you are showing how dead your brain is, you are literally dementia at this stage, it keeps getting worse for you, do you need a break?
I still stand by what I said....there is no evidence of any white people killing black people during the looting spree in KZN
