Bro.
Stop the Cap, you can’t claim to live in South Africa and not have heard of burna boy.

His song Last last is the second most streamed song on Spotify in South Africa.

It’s number 4 on your iTunes chart.

It’s the number one song on South Africa Apple Music chart.

It’s the number 4 song on your YouTube chart.

His new Album is the Number one album in your country.

You might not listen to his music, but claiming to have never heard of him is a huge lie.
- I don't know him bru wink I promise on my mothers life I don't know who he is grin

- Ok and? does that mean I listen to him?

- I use android

- And? I know very few songs on the South African top 100.....80% of South Africa is black, Im white and Afrikaans, I listen to different music

- ok and? that still doesn't mean I know who he is

- Refer to point nr 1.......Ive never hear of him!! his music doesn't play on the radio stations I listen to, neither does he ever pop up on my social media accounts.

- Actually I have located it. You said worse. You said it’s sounds ret@rded.

- uhm no. You leave we replace you in two seconds. You need all that bbnaija dollar and that’s why you are still hanging around.
- fair enough however, lets not forget movies like District 9, Elysium, Chappie, Tsotsi ect ect that charted all over the world and certainly in Nigeria as well.

- exactly....not ridiculous wink

- You make up less than 10% of DSTVs market share.....you need DSTV more than DSTV needs you

Exactly, you are starting to come out to the truth. My argument was never about you listening or consuming our contents cause personal preference differs. The crux of the matter was you saying you have never heard of any Nigerian artist. Now that’s a lie from the out of hell,so long as you live on this planet.
Just incase the allowed my point fly over your head,I was saying SAns can’t stop guzzling and dying over Nigerians contents, cos obviously it’s shows in the number. I won’t retract that statement cos it’s facts and the truth.
By that logic I can just name any Afrikaans artist and say because you saw his name he is now famous in Nigeria?

Forgotten history: a SADF vet tells how Recces trained Zulus for inter tribal violence , a force that morphed into the "Hidden Hand" responsible for 10000 deaths. You guys are young but at one stage it seemed SA would dissolve into civil war before the 94 election! Train attack and township shootouts killed a hundred a week at one stage.

https://youtu.be/y3MTFohsibc

This training was the genesis.

NOT a story you'll hear in the hundreds of autobiographies (correct me if I'm wrong!). I ALWAYS say history is important.
Try to look deeper into causes of conflict. The MSM would happily have you believe the EXACT OPPOSITE of the truth - Iraq, Iran, the J/Uke thing etc, etc.
the political war between the ANC and the IFP leading up to SAs first democratic elections killed more than the entire 50 years of apartheid.... The threat of a civil war back then was very real, but interestingly it didn't involve white people but rather it was a Zulu vs Xhosa conflict

But I do agree that the NP was fuelling this conflict!!

You are a joke. I showed you charts as at the time of release. Those were mainly charts in the first 1-2 weeks of release of those movie. I showed you SA,or would you say I fabricated it.

- that’s a futile endeavor.

- outside the original homeland being SA,we are DSTV biggest market. Plus they have more opportunities here than in SA,I.e growing subscribers(a market of 200m)
- I did not see a South African chart bru... Only a Kenyan and US one

- yes its futile because I never said it wink that post doesn't exist, it was created in your head grin

- you are less than 10% of tge entire DSTV market..... Your entertainment industry needs DSTV much more than DSTV needs Nigeria

Not listening to a music as a matter of personal preference is a different ball game entirely. The crux of the matter is that e en if you don’t fvck with a genre you must have heard of those spearheading that genre most especially when it’s a big deal. No white American in the U.S can tell me he or she has never heard of the name BEYONCÉ or Micheal Jackson. Except they’ve been in coma their entire life.
wizkid isn't Beyonce or Michael Jackson... Please never compare them again..... Ever

dude the only name I recognised is wizkid... But only because people have mentioned him here, however I don't know how he looks like or even a single song, my social media reflects my interests.... Hence I don't see Nigerian artists ever... as in ever, not on my FB, not on instagram, not on twitter... Literally nowhere

- I gave you figures and facts already bro. The fact that this shows could top the charts in your countries and across the globe speaks volume.

- nope it wasn’t saddam,it was you.

- whatever the case maybe,Nigeria makes the bulk of that revenue. We are your biggest market. You go today, you loose. In a minute a Nigerian company is there filling up that space..

- once again, I already did that.
- your shows ain't charting in SA bru....see pics

- show me grin

-nope South Africa is DSTVs biggest market by far with over 9 million subscribers, Nigeria only has 1.5million....in total Dstv has 21 millions plus subscribers..... Nigeria thus doesn't even make up 10% of Nigeria's market

- fair enough. Your lack of viewership is not a standard to use is judging the rest of your country. They are obsessed and it’s shows in the numbers.

- oh you did say it’s ridiculous. I am not going in search of that. So give up.

- ehn nope. Multi choice know how much money and investment the Nigerian entertainment has brought them and they can’t loose on that. Very soon BBNaija would commenced and the account books would be realeased to see how much they’ve realized. You boy don’t know how the showbiz business works. Those shows pulls millions of audience and Nigeria brands pay millions of dollars to advertise their product such platform owing the the amount of viewership (it’s just like social media influencing on an extremely larger scale) the show generate. So technically your DSTV which is partially ours can’t survive without Nigerians brand money,so yeah DSTV cannot close down since we are their biggest market on the continent. They need us more that we do. If they pack out ,I can bet my last finger a True Authentic Nigerian entertainment brand would swiftly move in to take their place. It’s a FACTS.
They loose and cry, we smile and win.

- Again no one cares if you watch or not, not that I expect you to actually confess it if you did. But what matters is that SAns are crazy over our contents and that infact contents me to learn of. grin
- how many South African viewers watch Nigerian shows.... Let's judge with facts and not your opinions wink

- Saddamochieng00 I think said your shows were ridiculous or something close to that... I never did hence you can't find any proof.

- the whole Africa only generate 58% of Dstv revenue.... In other words it can survive without Nigeria... On the other hand your shows lose all its audiences outside Nigeria without Dstv.

-Provide viewership figures not opinions

Also u can't conquer something when the reason your content is out there is because of us and can be ended by us anytime

For starters you claimed y’all don’t watch it, if I remember correctly you used the word ridiculous. You claimed those shows sound ridiculous to watch.

Secondly I remember saying,in as much as part of the ownership are Nigerians, those companies can’t do without our talent and content. The whole of Africa seem rather insatiable of Nigerian content.

Also what do you gat to say about y’all undying love for Nigerian content on Netflix.
1. I claimed I don't watch it, never once said other South Africans don't watch it

2. I never used the word ridiculous.... Show me where I said the shows sound ridiculous

3. The rest of Africa would survive without Nigerian content very very easily however your industry would lose massively if DSTV just decided it doesn't want to air your shows anymore.... Its because of us that you are able to broadcast your content across Africa, we made your industry... And if we like we can end it as well... That is influence cool

4. I don't watch Nigerian netflix

@ jl115. Today RHOL reunion show was released and as usual it’s too the trend tables in SA alongside one of the stars being Chioma. When I said y’all can’t do without naija entertainment, you try to heckle like that will change shiit.

It’s the same way the recently released blood sisters and glamours girls was the most watched movie on Netflix in South Africa,Kenya and the rest of the continent. Heck I am not e em surprised,Those movies where Number 1 globally on Netflix,so africa is a small fry for us to conquer.

Anyway Big brother naija would be starting in a couple of weeks. Go mark today’s date on the wall,it’s will definitely top the trend table as Number 1 in SA(not even no 2) alongside some of the housemates. And this wouldn’t be just SA,both Kenya and the rest of the continent. I will be here with my receipt to gloat as usual and revel in your shock. grin
Now this right here is the real influence, not those fake fantasies you have in your head. I call this soft power and we Have SA and the rest of the continent just where we want y’all.
On what do you watch these shows? Oh yes DSTV grin and without DSTV your shows have 0 reach in Africa cool remember that!

One hospital experienced 127 hours per month without power between September 2021 and February 2022
https://www.thinkglobalhealth.org/article/power-cuts-south-africa-wreak-havoc-health-care
Mossel bay hospitals as well as petroSA and critical agriculture don't get loadshedding...maybe its because our municipality is the best in SA and they do get some electricity from IPPs.....

Either way, after 2024 the Anc won't be in power anymore my bru wink

Also:

"NRS048-9 identifies the following criteria for the implementation of load shedding: the safety of people, the environment, the potential damage to plants associated with a critical national product (for example wastewater treatment works) and technical constraints on executing load shedding and curtailment or restoration."
