Why won't you guys let Mr. President be? Everyone cannot be a good orator. GEJ is clearly not a good orator and he is often ill at ease in interviews. Let's not judge him based on his interviews and media chats. Let's judge him based on his performance and intentions.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Real Madrid Vs FC Copenhagen- UCL (4 - 0) On 2nd October 2013 by JMOI(op): 9:24am On Sep 30, 2013

Copenhagen will look to upset the form book when they visit Real Madrid, who were defeated by local rivals Atletico Madrid at the weekend, in the Champions League on Wednesday.

The Danish outfit have never defeated Spanish opponents in eight attempts, but they will be buoyed by the 1-1 home draw earned against Juventus on matchday one.

Real were in imperious form in their opening Group B fixture, Cristiano Ronaldo scoring a hat-trick in a 6-1 demolition of Galatasaray in Turkey.

The two sides have never met before, with Real's last game against a Danish side ending in a surprise 2-0 home reverse to Odense in what was then the Uefa Cup in 1994-95.

The last time Copenhagen came up against a side from La Liga was three years ago when they took a point from two games against Barcelona in the Champions League group stages.

That season they went on to deliver the best performance by a Danish side in the competition, reaching the second round before being eliminated by Chelsea.

The Blancos exited at the semi-final stage of this competition for the third year in succession last season, while Copenhagen were edged out 2-1 on aggregate by Lille in the final qualifying round.

Carlo Ancelotti's side suffered their first league defeat of the season on Saturday, going down 1-0 at home to neighbours Atletico, a result that leaves them five points adrift of both Diego Simeone's men and Barcelona at the top of the table.

World-record signing Gareth Bale is in line to feature, the Wales international coming off the bench during the weekend defeat after recovering from a thigh injury, but midfielder Xabi Alonso remains sidelined with a broken foot.

Copenhagen have suffered a terrible start to their domestic campaign and with just two wins from the opening 10 matches, Stale Solbakken's side currently find themselves in the relegation zone, their plight not helped by Saturday’s 3-2 defeat away at Brondby.

That reverse was Solbakken's first defeat since taking over from Ariel Jacobs in August and Copenhagen will be hoping to celebrate their 150th European game with what would be a surprise win.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Shakhtar Donetsk Vs Manchester United: UCL (1 - 1) On 2nd October 2013 by JMOI(op): 8:24am On Sep 30, 2013
David Moyes has not enjoyed the most successful of starts to his stint as manager of Manchester United.

From a possible 18 points in the Premier League, Moyes's side have collected just seven, while they have also lost to rivals Liverpool and Manchester City.

However, the Red Devils won their opening Champions League match against Bayer Leverkusen 4-2 earlier this month. On Wednesday, the English champions will go up against a side that also emerged victorious from their first group fixture - Shakhtar Donetsk, who overcame Real Sociedad 2-0.

Having been left out of the weekend's 2-1 defeat to West Bromwich Albion, experienced defensive duo Nemanja Vidic and Patrice Evra are expected to return to the United starting lineup, as is Robin van Persie.

Rio Ferdinand, who has been heavily criticised for his performance against the Baggies, could be dropped, though, with Chris Smalling, Phil Jones and Jonny Evans all vying for his place.

The hosting Ukrainian giants have a number of Brazilians within their squad, with the likes of Bernard, Alex Teixeira and Douglas Costa all tipped to start.

These two sides have never faced each other, but Shakhtar coach Mircea Lucescu was in charge of Inter Milan when they were knocked out of the Champions League at the quarter-final stage by United back in 1999.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Celtic vs Barcelona - UCL - (0 - 1) On 1st October 2013 by JMOI(op): 7:54am On Sep 30, 2013
Barcelona will be without Lionel Messi as they seek to avoid another upset against Celtic in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday.

Last November, Neil Lennon's men sprung a huge shock at Celtic Park when goals from Victor Wanyama and rookie striker Tony Watt secured a famous 2-1 triumph over the four-time European champions.

Messi's absence is a major blow for the Catalan giants, with Messi having helped himself to a hat-trick as Barca
brushed Ajax aside 4-0 in the Group H opener a fortnight ago to move ahead of Mario Gomez and Filippo Inzaghi by becoming the first player
to score four trebles in the
competition.

Meanwhile, Celtic warmed up for the clash in the best possible manner on Saturday when they bounced back from a shock defeat to Morton in the Scottish League Cup with victory at Kilmarnock.

The Scottish Premiership champions survived a fightback from their hosts
before prevailing 5-2 as Georgios Samaras fired in a hat-trick.

Barcelona will once again be without left-back Jordi Alba due to a hamstring problem, while fellow defender Carles Puyol and playmaker Isaac Cuenca are recovering from knee surgery.

Celtic are missing close-season arrival Steven Mouyokolo, who ruptured his Achilles in training before the Milan clash.

He really deserves it. I took notice of him few days into the season during an in-house party where he performed Davido's Gobe. I hope he makes it in the real world, though. He should join a good record label like Chidinma if he wants to make it big otherwise he will fizzle out like the others before him.

Arsenal

Unlike Michael Laudrup, Arsene Wenger does have a long list of absentees ahead of this fixture. Theo Walcott, Santi Cazorla, Abou Diaby, Yaya Sanogo, Lukas Podolski, Alex Oxlade Chamberlain and Tomas Rosicky are all out with injuries. Rosicky is close to returning to full fitness and could be fit for the match against Napoli.

After resting most of his big name players in the match against West Brom in the League Cup, Arsene Wenger is expected to field the side he used in the match against Stoke City last weekend. Which means Sagna, Koscienly and Gibbs will return to the side alongside Mertesacker in defence, while Flamini and Ramsey resume their partnership in front of it. Mikel Arteta has returned from his injury and featured in Arsenal’s midweek game, but the Spaniard is likely to be dropped to the bench with Flamini and Ramsey forming a good partnership recently.

Gnabry will continue his stint in the first team squad in the absence of Theo Walcott on the right, while Mesut Ozil and Jack Wilshere will provide the creativity in behind Olivier Giroud. Ozil has made an instant impact upon his arrival and is already leading the assist chart. He and Wilshere will swap positions in the match, with the German moving out wide at times.

Flamini has been another significant signing for the Arsenal and he is providing the much needed steel in front of the defence. Something they have lacked for quite a long time in recent past. He and Ramsey could possibly keep Mikel Arteta out of this Arsenal side this season.

Arsenal will drop deep against Swansea and will switch to a more counter attacking tactics. They might allow the Welsh side to dominate possession and deny them space in behind the back line, this will in turn create space in behind the Swansea full-backs for the likes of Gnabry and Ozil to exploit.

Probable Starting Line-Up [4-2-3-1]: Szczesny (GK); Sagna, Koscielny, Mertesacker, Gibbs; Ramsey, Flamini; Gnabry, Ozil, Wilshere; Giroud

Team News and Tactical Brief
Swansea City

Michael Laudrup doesn’t have too many injury concerns at the moment, but there are doubts about the fitness of Pablo Hernandez and Ashley Williams. Williams though is expected to feature in this game after recovering from his ankle injury.

Swansea are likely to field the same team that won against Crystal Palace last weekend, which means Bony will continue his role in the bench as Alvaro is preferred ahead of him. Rangel, Chico, Williams and Davies will form the back four with Canas and Shelvey playing in the pivot ahead of them. Canas is the man who provides the defensive cover to the backline with Shelvey playing in a more advanced role.

Alvaro will lead the line with Routledge, Michu and Dyer playing in behind him. Most of Swansea’s attack and build up comes down the right hand side of their pitch with Dyer and Rangel providing the width down that flank. Michu is yet to match the high standards he set last season, but the Spaniard is playing in a more withdrawn role this season. But Swansea needs him to score goals if they are to replicate their success this time.

Swansea are one of the few sides who look to take on Arsenal in their own game. They are brilliant in keeping possession and have provide a lot of worries for the Gunners in the past, although the score line hasn’t always reflected their effort. In this game, at home, it will be no different. They would look to retain the ball and push the Gunners back with patience build up. But they must also be careful about not providing too much space in behind the defence for the Arsenal attackers to exploit. Canas will have a special job in stopping Arsenal’s counter attack and reducing the influence of Mesut Ozil in the final third, but he would also need the help of Shelvey in acheieving that successfully.

Probable Starting XI [4-2-3-1]: Vorm (GK); Rangel, Chico, Williams, Davies; Canas, Shelvey; Dyer, Michu, Routledge; Alvaro
