cold: JoAgbaje's topic posted yesterday the 21st of August claiming to heal an Ebola victim was removed from this site to save unsuspecting, simple minded folks from falling prey to this scam artist masking as an MOG. This is a step in the right direction.
There's a need to clean this augean stable of con men like JoAgbaje claiming to heal all forms of diseases and perform all kinds of miracles and where possible, report them to the appropriate authorities.
Mr Jo you should be ashamed of yourself trying to take advantage of a tragic situation to prey on gullible and pliable folks. You couldn't sink any lower even if you tried. Thank goodness the admin/mods saw through your shenanigans and put your thread where it rightfully belongs.
Are you serious? Whst make me a scam Artist . I didn't collect money nor food from the man . Even though they offered me . I only took a bottle of water . I decline the offer to buy at least my ticket . I foot the bill for the journey . They only paid hotel bill. If I had asked for a million they would give me. God sent me there and I obeyed . What is your bad belle? . If they had paid me money you could have said I went for money sake . I now can see why God didn't allow me to take anything . God is too great in wisdom . I'm vindicated .

Christianity Etc"I Serve A God Who Answers Prayers" - American Doctor Cured Of Ebola by Joagbaje(op): 9:54am On Aug 22, 2014
Today is a miraculous day. I am thrilled to be alive, to be well and to be reunited with my family. As a medical missionary, I never imagined myself in this position. When my family and I moved to Liberia last October to begin a two-year term working with Samaritan’s Purse, Ebola was not on the radar. We moved to Liberia because God called us to serve the people of Liberia.

In March, when we got word that Ebola was in Guinea and had spread to Liberia, we began preparing for the worst. We didn’t receive our first Ebola patient until June, but when she arrived, we were ready. During the course of June and July, the number of Ebola patients increased steadily, and our amazing crew at ELWA Hospital took care of each patient with great care and compassion. We also took every precaution to protect ourselves from this dreaded disease by following MSF and WHO guidelines for safety.

After taking Amber and our children to the airport to return to the States on Sunday morning, July 20, I poured myself into my work even more than before – transferring patients to our new, bigger isolation unit; training and orienting new staff; and working with our Human Resources officer to fill our staffing needs. Three days later, on Wednesday, July 23, I woke up feeling under the weather, and then my life took an unexpected turn as I was diagnosed with Ebola Virus Disease. As I lay in my bed in Liberia for the following nine days, getting sicker and weaker each day, I prayed that God would help me to be faithful even in my illness, and I prayed that in my life or in my death, He would be glorified.

I did not know then, but I have learned since, that there were thousands, maybe even millions of people around the world praying for me throughout that week, and even till today. And I have heard story after story of how this situation has impacted the lives of individuals around the globe – both among my friends and family, and also among complete strangers. I cannot thank you enough for your prayers and your support. But what I can tell you is that I serve a faithful God who answers prayers.

Through the care of the Samaritan’s Purse and SIM missionary team in Liberia, the use of an experimental drug, and the expertise and resources of the health care team at Emory University Hospital, God saved my life – a direct answer to thousands and thousands of prayers.

I am incredibly thankful to all of those who were involved in my care, from the first day of my illness all the way up to today – the day of my release from Emory. If I tried to thank everyone, I would undoubtedly forget many. But I would be remiss if I did not say thank you to a few. I want to thank Samaritan’s Purse, who has taken care of me and my family as though we were their own family. Thank you to the Samaritan’s Purse and SIM Liberia community. You cared for me and ministered to me during the most difficult experience of my life, and you did so with the love and mercy of Jesus Christ.

Thank you to Emory University Hospital and especially to the medical staff in the isolation unit. You treated me with such expertise, yet with such tenderness and compassion. For the last three weeks you have been my friends and my family. And so many of you ministered to me not only physically, but also spiritually, which has been an important part of my recovery. I will never forget you and all that you have done for me.

And thank you to my family, my friends, my church family and to all who lifted me up in prayer, asking for my healing and recovery. Please do not stop praying for the people of Liberia and West Africa, and for a quick end to this Ebola epidemic.

My dear friend, Nancy Writebol, upon her release from the hospital, wanted me to share her gratitude for all the prayers on her behalf. As she walked out of her isolation room, all she could say was, ‘To God be the glory.’ Nancy and David are now spending some much needed time together.

Thank you for your support through this whole ordeal. My family and I will now be going away for a period of time to reconnect, decompress and continue to recover physically and emotionally. After I have recovered a little more and regained some of my strength, we will look forward to sharing more of our story; but for now, we need some time together after more than a month apart. We appreciate having the opportunity to spend some time in private before talking to some of you who have expressed an interest in hearing more of our journey. Thank you for granting us that.

Again, before we slip out, I want to express my deep and sincere gratitude to Samaritan’s Purse, SIM, Emory and all of the people involved in my treatment and care.

Above all, I am forever thankful to God for sparing my life and am glad for any attention my sickness has attracted to the plight of West Africa in the midst of this epidemic. Please continue to pray for Liberia and the people of West Africa, and encourage those in positions of leadership and influence to do everything possible to bring this Ebola outbreak to an end. Thank you.

"Often the owners of mobile phones are not even aware that they are being used like this, however in this case it is clear."
One of the text messages he claimed to have received read: "She will not come out of this hell. She’s mine. Anyone who prays for her will die."
I can identify with this . I have experienced it with at least 2 cases . The individuals would not be aware a demon spirit use their phone to hurl treats to the minister . One of such case was to funny . The phone had no credit yet it was sending SMS to me. When I confronted the lady she said she didn't even have credit in her phone to start with for 2 days . I collected the phone and checked the credit . It was 0.00

I checked the SMS . There was no evidence on her phone except my responses only

frosbel: Can you show us where Jesus did it and Paul did it , not as a one off but on a perpetual basis.
Please ensure you provide these examples in the right context of the danger they faced at the time.
Thanks.
My point is that everyone should do all it takes to protect himself according to his level of faith. Just as some RECIEVE healing by prayers and others by drug.

Jesus protected himself several times in the bible.

John 7:1
AFTER THIS, Jesus went from place to place in Galilee, for He would not travel in Judea because the Jews were seeking to kill Him.

John 8:59
Then took they up stones to cast at him:but Jesus hid himself. . . . .

John 10:39
Therefore they sought again to take him:but he escaped out of their hand,

John 11:53-54
Then from that day forth they took counsel together for to put him to death. Jesus therefore walked no more openly among the Jews. . . .

He once encouraged the disciples to get sword . And the carried swords

Security is simple common sense. It should be adopted when there's need. Jesus did it . Paul did it . Anyone can do it if he has need for security.
Christianity EtcRe: Pastor Who Called You ? by Joagbaje(m): 6:23pm On Jul 13, 2014
frosbel: They still have not answered the question.

If God called all Pastors in Nigeria today . . .
Nobody can speak for others. So I may not agree with your construction above . The point is that god does call people into pastoral ministry . But to determine if Mr A is called into pastoral ministry in not in any mans place to say . Mr A will answer for himself before God. We can deny the enemy do send false ministers .

why are they all saying different things ?
The call of God does not perfect a man. It is individual responsibility to know the word and Gods will . There are ignorant pastors and there are knowledgeable members who may even study more than the pastor. Knowledge is each mans responsibility .

Secondly revelation knowledge has it's part . Paul had issues with some other apostle biased on the fact that he had deeper knowledge than them.
Christianity EtcRe: Pastor Who Called You ? by Joagbaje(m): 5:44am On Jul 13, 2014
Goshen360: Every Christian is already called.
That's called to be saints. We are all called to be saints. This is different from the calling into an office of ministry gift. As pastor prophet apostle evangelist and teacher.

There's no special calling for any man in the body of Christ.
There is . God gives different abilities and also There's leadership structure in the kingdom of God. Offices that God call certain into. Everybody is not there . Every Nigeria can't be president but every Nigeria president is a Nigerian .

Romans 8:28, 30; Jude 1:1; 1 Peter 5:10; 1 Cor. 1:24 and many more proves every Christian is called but we are "sent" on different assignment.
That different assignment is what the calling is. So there is ability part and there's leadership part.

1 Corinthians 12:28-30
And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues. Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles? Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret?

rationalmind: You were the one that said whoever casts out devils must be prepared to face such persecutions. By using such, I assumed you meant persecutions similar in nature to what the man experienced
The degree if attack is determined by the degree of damage the minister had done to the kingdom of darkness

and you think demons are so dumb as to use a total stranger thereby making it very easy for the pastor to deny the allegations. They could easily have used any of the church members who has a track record of visiting the pastor.
Satan can use anybody . He used strangers as false accusers against paul ,Jesus and others he can use house hold members or bitter church members if he can't find he will use outsiders .

In that case, then all false accusations can be said to be demonic. Don't you find anything wrong in that?
All false accusation are certain demonic . They are engineered by demonic influence.

If you say some false accusations are not demonic, I'm curious to know how you make a distinction between the demonic ones and those that aren't demonic.
Except cases why the minister is misunderstood And wrongfully accused .
Christianity EtcRe: Pastor Who Called You ? by Joagbaje(m): 12:47pm On Jul 12, 2014
Go to the bible and find who does the calling on ministers.

Hebrews 5:4
And no man taketh this honour unto himself, but he that is called of God, as was Aaron.

rationalmind: I assume you also cast out demons.

1- How come you're yet to face such persecution?
Why do you think I don't ? All these Nairaland attack nko? Persecution and opposition differ in degree as we grow in grace our enemies multiply. Great power comes with great opposition

2- I'm finding it difficult to find the rationale behind a demon allowing herself to be jailed for life just to bring down one person.

A demon I suppose should have other means to achieve the same objective free of jail.
Then you know little of demonic operation. The individual is only being used. I once minister to a young girl and she wanted to rip my clothes off to rrape me. I had to call others in. She later sent SMS that the spirit wanted to set me up that she was going to lure me into whatever and shout rrape! I still have the sms on my phone .just in case .(god forbid)

3. Could it not be that the woman out of torture from her captors had to give them the name of someone just to relieve her of the torture?
Maybe . But whatever the case , it's demonic .

Look at the story of Stephen

Acts 6:10-14
And they were not able to resist the wisdom and the spirit by which he spake. Then they suborned men, which said, We have heard him speak blasphemous words against Moses, and against God. And they stirred up the people, and the elders, and the scribes, and came upon him, and caught him, and brought him to the council, And set up false witnesses, which said, This man ceaseth not to speak blasphemous words against this holy place, and the law: For we have heard him say, that this Jesus of Nazareth shall destroy this place, and shall change the customs which Moses delivered us.
Christianity EtcRe: Lagos Pastor ‘implicated’ In Ritual Saga Opens Up by Joagbaje(m): 11:05am On Jul 12, 2014
rationalmind: But why do I have the feeling this man is saying the truth?
It's a demonic set up. Anyone who heal the sick and cast out devils must get ready for such persecution. Satan will stir demonic lies against you. Even with "evidence " and " witnesses" but if you're really called of God you will prevail,
Christianity EtcFaith For The Triumphant Life by Joagbaje(op): 10:51am On Jul 12, 2014

Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place (2 Corinthians 2:14).

The Apostle Paul in the verse above lets us know that God always leads us in triumphal procession in Christ Jesus. We’ve been called to a life of success, joy, health, righteousness, and boundless possibilities. Glory to God!

The one who’s born again reigns over Satan and the negativities of life. Someone might say, “But my experiences aren’t just in line with the triumphant life; rather, it’s the exact opposite.”

The first thing you need is to accept that the triumphant life is the right of every believer. However, it takes understanding and the walk of faith to live this transcendent life. God is a “faith-God.” He operates by faith and as His offspring, we’re to do the same. The Bible says without faith it’s impossible to please God (Hebrews 11:6). We walk by faith and not by sight or sensory perception (2 Corinthians 5:7). Faith is living in and by the Word.

It’s God’s will and desire that you live joyfully, reigning and winning every day in life, through the Word.

Christianity EtcRe: How Do I Correct My Pastor by Joagbaje(m): 10:26am On Jul 08, 2014
nlMediator: Good observation, but I'm not sure of that. I think the pastor is thinking along the lines of "infinity" and using infinitesimal as the adjective. Op can type a letter and mail it anonymously to the pastor. Or create an email address and email the pastor. Key thing is to use a channel that ensures that the pastor gets the message, instead of it being hijacked on the way.
An SMS should do. I don't think he needs to hide his identity. The pastor should rather be glad to know who cared enough to observe.
