Ola one: I am with you. That, essentially, is what ACN is all about. Imagine, no primaries in a "progressive" democracy. A "progressive" party.smh... |
Demdem: The same way we have done till date right?Tell them... Politics is not the business for "saints". I wonder why many people remain in that dream of Ideal types. |
Desola: You are talking at me, not to me.Ok. My apologies. I was trying to slow down your extrapolation from "Iyaloja issues" to the ACN and the entire politics in Lagos. |
Ola one: Nice one, man.Open your eyes...this is not ACN. It's a proper traditional title. It's like the Council of Chiefs (esp. the Afobajes' - "Kingmakers" selecting a heir to the throne (by their own fiat) and the public complaining that he's the son of the past King. |
Desola: If true, then tinubu must be uprooted and all his future ambition in Lagos and Nigeria must be stunted!Calm down Desola, so that you can sort the issues objectively. Since when did that position become open to the general public to contest in or have a say. This title has little or nothing to do with the ACN or its politics. The Iyaloja title is very cultural...ask the Oba of Lagos. |
kay2000: We are almost 3 years in marriage and ours has never left our fingers. We bath with it, cook and do all manner wit it. If you are planning marriage pls get gold rings, they don't get rusty and causes no irritation like GL. Wedding ring is very symbolical. It is the first evidence of your marital status at a glance. If you are married and ur wife does not wear her wedding ring and u are not disturb about it cos u don't wear urs also, then don't get disturbed when she is frequently harrassed.Sounds like nobody gets disturbed even with their ring? I am proudly married but we both do not wear rings (for personal reasons). My wife is very beautiful and we haven't had any problems with harassment...we didn't have it in our ten years before marriage as well. She's heavy with my child and I think that's sign enough for anyone who cares. |
maasoap: I knew it. That man is a fraudster. He removed 150 naira meter maintenance fee only for this crook Nnaji of a thing to replace it with 500 naira fixed charge. It is only in Nigeria you have counter(meter) and you are still being billed using crude method in combination. Whether you have power supply or not, you will be made to cough out 500 naira every month in addition to per unit charge that he increased from 7.30 to 12.30. Thanks to the Mr Nnaji Fraud.siddon there. have you paid your rates recently? Barth is long gone...fixed rate is now 750 in Ikeja disco |
chidindufrank: FG is trying for southwest people. No wonder they endorsed GEJ for second tearmSouthwest? Do you know how many easterners die on that road monthly? Drop your sentiments pls. |
I think Mr. Fashola should just go ahead and write a book on this. He has put his Lagos experience in a very simple, easy-to-relate-with format. There's not point having such brilliant illustration without having proper record for posterity. |
Samakins: Quite interesting story to read and so many lessons to learn, but I wonder why the interviewer(s)did not ask a follow-up question about how he became a muslim (or if he was a muslim from the beginning)because he mentioned going to church on Sundays and studying CRK in school and Governor Fashola that we know is a devout muslim. No religious sentiment about this, just another aspect of his life that might be interesting to know. It's very easy for people from Lagos to be Muslim-Christians. I suspect a scenario where his Father and Grandfather were Muslims but their wives (incl. his mother) were Christians. Is that surprising, given his own dear Abimbola? Such relationships are commonplace in core Lagos families. |
Dubemkelly: Really inspiring tho...Its kinda kul when one starts on d wrong side,if one eventually makes a mark,he's more competent nd knowledgeable, A guv'nor who had a poor background knows d plight of d poor. Govt aint what we see on d outside, until u enter,u wud confess dat deres much 2 work on nd fight 4I guess by 'poor' you actually mean common background because I read the text and I didn't get the sense that he's from a poor family |
Ayatullah: With Governor Fashola's Midas touch he could have still been a wonderful mechanic............so we have lost the best mechanic Nigeria never had! He's still a mechanic...ask WS. Only he doesn't fix mechanical problems but socio-economic ones |
m.esther96:narrow-mindedness is not a crime, choosing not to review one's world map is |
There are projects ongoing allover in Lagos, depending on where you choose to look. These ones are reported for their topical nature. Ikorodu has a massive road expansion project going on; Badagry road has a mega-massive road + rail project going on; Ejigbo has same... |
I am interested in researching this topic. Please inform me more on the validity of the topic. Is History not actually included in the Secondary School Curriculum in the entire country? Is this peculiar to just the Junior School? I am in need of facts that can make a research proposition evidence-based. |
Suad1, I agree with u. Anyways, this night is made and belongs to SB Blues. |
