I have never seen a one sided officiating yesterday just like the one Chelsea went through in the hands of Barca.

united fans for plank the bastard ref for head. angry
On a more serious note, I think the red was very harsh. A yellow card (for me) would have been the best bet especially since he got the ball very well before hitting him.

But you see that handball? Nahhh.
Not a Pk.

the supporting arm managed to give way after intercepting the cross to Weghorst. he stopped a potential goal scoring chance with his arm. it wasn't a careless fall, he was fully aware of the position of the ball. he was trying to use his body but misjudged the trajectory of the ball and stopped it with his arm in desperation. it wasn't as if it was a close or high pass, it was a very low cross and the ball travelled at least 7 yards to get there.
penalty all day.
He didn't stop a potential goalscoring chance. If that was a shot aimed at goal, I believe that would have been given as a penalty but it wasn't, Instead it was a pass or low cross.

The thing is, his hands was on the ground supporting his body when the cross came in, he only tried to adjust in the last minute After the ball had hit his hands. As long as the hands was on the floor supporting his body and it wasn't spread wide apart, and as long as the ball he stopped wasn't aimed on goal, then no ref would give that as a penalty

Lol. You guys have had too many decisions go against you such that you can’t recognize handball again when you see it. grin
Lol, I know say you go think say na hand, but this is the rule that was applied

when a player falls, and the hand/arm is between the body and the ground to support the body, but not extended laterally or vertically away from the body..... (The rules)

The question you'll ask is that, was that hand used as a support? was it extended laterally or vertically away from his body?
To me, from the game I watched, I think both answers are yes and no respectively!!

Not Emery-ball when Auba does not score we are toast.
God knows how I dread those times. If Auba just go off form or if he's caged, arsenal is in trouble.

Now, we can look at goals coming from different angles and not just looking up to one person. Happy times I swear grin

Trossard picked a MOTM award today too. I dey pray make Tomi get his first goal very soon.
About the fluidity, that's one of our greatest strength this season.
He deserves his motm abeg. I was really sad about us not getting Mudryk deal over but when we bought Trossard, Omorr, I was so happy. This wan naim oyibo people dey call "blessings in disguise" grin

As for Tomi, if he wants to score his first goal, he should better score it wen we need it oo. He should look at White and Zinny first goal and see how important it was to us. I no want any statpadding first goal oo cheesy

Thank goodness for fluidity, it's almost as if we've gotten our first half of the season back grin

I hope not... especially if Arteta really wants him.
I've been hearing that Lindstrom rumours but I didn't think it was serious. I still didn't think it is tho.
But then, I even thought he's an attacking midfielder, o didn't even know he's a winger.

We are the only team in EPL to have 3 players with 10+ goals in the league (Martinelli, Saka and Odegaard)

In fact, no EPL team even have two players scoring 10+ goals in the league

Heaven knows this is the kind of team I'm always praying for. My kind of dream team!!. A team where goals is spread almost evenly across all attackers instead of just one person. A team where we'll have 4-5 people or more scoring 10-15+ goals instead of a player scoring 30+ goals.

So happy for this team and its performances!!

COYG!!! cool

I don't think ETH or the boys should be blamed for that loss.

It's just the tail end of random distribution.
No matter how prepared you are, life is still the boss...

You either win/lose few games in between matches, with fewer goals OR
Go on a long winning streak but your loss will be so ridiculous Or
Go on long losing streak but win ridiculous games out of no where

Remember Everton beating Arsenal by 4:0? undecided
Arsenal is even in a way better form that Man U.

Man U is not in top form. The wins are just life rewarding the team's hard work.

We still make too many mistakes. If any team can capitalize on that, we will be punished.
How about our conversion rate? still very low.

That is why I am happy for ETH and the boys.
If we can produce this kind of results now, it will be glorious when:

- the right players are brought it,
- our mistakes reduces drastically
- conversion rate goes up

That is how I feel though, I might be wrong. What do I know?! undecided lipsrsealed

We don't know what's going on over there. It might just be saka that insisted he must play. Moreso, Arteta hinted earlier this season that the youngsters will need to get use to playing every 3 days especially in the coming season where we will need their contributions both in the EPL and UCL.
BTW, Arteta would've started integrating Lucky Dube into the team immediately after Marquinhos was loaned out but then there are no fringe matches.

As for backup, I really like Jesper Lindstrom.
Lol... True, players will insist to play quite alright but it's the coach's job to manage him.
Na this thing do Fabregas and if you notice his last 2 to 3 seasons here, he was riddled with injuries. All these talk of top players playing 3 days a week is true but top coaches manage their player's 3 days a week well buy not playing them all or every minutes especially if they're youngsters. Me I won't complain if Saka is around 25-29 but he's been overplaying since when he's 18/19 if I'm not mistaken.

We need manage him well Tbh!!
We should just thank God he's a strong boy!

As per Lindstrom, is he a winger? We need strong winger oo, no be all these small small boys like Marquinhos and Duberry.

We need someone with experience in Europe. The way Gabriel have with Kiwior and Martinelli have with Trossard

What's even making it pain me more is that the stress us making him to rake up a lil above average performances in europa in last 2 seasons. Infact, the last Europa game i think he was very go was when Pepe was still around. It's that bad. He should be blazing. One might say it's too early to tell but, he should be fresh for Thursday nights.

He needs rest. Arteta should be the wiser one here.
I think the best time to rest him was during Europa group stage and some league games where we are winning comfortably but now it'll be difficult.

But he needed that rest on Thurs for Nelson and Esr. My prayer is that he doesn't burn out sha

😂😂
But seriously, Arteta needs to rest that young man cause our last match, it was kinda glaring that he’s getting tired, but why will Arteta not get anybody to deputise Saka during the transfer window, Nelson is ambidextrous, he should try him on that wing when next our strikers are back and Martinelli is back to his position...
Tbh, he needs rest. At least, he shouldn't be playing that Thurs Europa game.

We need someone to alleviate that overgame play from Saka. Most people who towed this part hardly have long careers. I'm afraid but I just hope Saka have one. If Saka just have long injury laidis, it might affect his growth

Saka needs 2games break for better efficiency. I dunno if Arteta is seeing this. 21yo boy o.
One of my friends talk say one day Saka go just pull Jersey comot for pitch one day tell Arteta say him no play again... cheesy

... And I think he's right.

Sometimes, Arteta needs to just rest Saka to energise him. Also, he badly needs a deputy. They need to buy someone that's ready to play that wing anytime he needs rest in cup competitions
