For number 2 there's a reason arteta had to bring in partey at half time he oozes different kind of confidence to the team, even though we scored 2 Kate goals in the first half we were sluggish and our final passes were annoying especially from this same jourghino
Everton parked the bus but we were still penetrating with ease just the final pass and it took zinny just one key pass to open up the game.

Abeg jourghino should be playing Europa henceforth
Even though I agree that Partey brings a different kind of confidence, but I don't think he was brought on because of anything Jorginho did wrong. It's just a way of easing Partey in. Remember, Partey is still first choice

We played very well even with Jorginho ystdy tho(My opinion). I thought with Everton 3 physical midfielders, they'll suppress Jorginho but we balled. Even though we were more faster in the 2nd half because of Partey introduction, we weren't slow in the first half at all

At your first point I don’t agree completely, I think they parked the bus but had to open up after the second goal. They didn’t park in the second half as it was pointless, they needed to score, reason we created more chances in the 2nd half than the first.
Well... True!!

Newsflash: one have 2 assists and one goal, the other have 10000 dribbles. grin

That's exactly what i want mehn. Our next 3games should be games where we will be very stubborn on conceding 1 and lethal like tonight's game.

Premier League analysis on Bournemouth

"no club has conceded more goals this season than the Cherries"

Over to dem boys. I need a riot. 5minimum. Saka Hattrick.

Make Ramsdale dey rake in the cleansheets dey go till na only 6games left to go. 😹💯
Abi ooo

We need to be racking up the wins now with plenty goals.

I don't mind about the goals sha.... I just need wins and dominant performances!! grin
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Jodera: 11:44pm On Mar 01, 2023
My thoughts on the game

1... If there was a match where I can use as reference about wanting my front 3 to be fluid, this is that match. One minute, you'll see Martinelli in CF position, the next minute it's Trossard. Another minute you'll see Trossard dropping deep and Saka occupying the half space, the next minute all our three forwards are making dashing runs in behind the defences. Do you think Everton park the bus today? Yes they did, but the scoreline and our team's performance suggested otherwise.

2... Most of us(including me) where skeptical of Jorginho signing but truth be told, he's been acting as a very very good backup for Partey. He might not be good defensively (especially in quick transitions) but his understanding of spaces and reading the game is something that's underrated. A very different profile to Partey but he's looking like someone who fits perfectly into the team. May he continue to give us the L for the good of the team. Finally, Partey will not always be rushed back and can be managed properly.

3... That goal and the accuracy of the ball with his weaker foot needs to be applauded. I'm talking about Saka here. This guy is just showing wonders each and every game. Motm for me.

4... This match seems like something personal for our boys. You could see the way they toyed and attack Everton ferociously and not giving them time to breath. Though they were two moments where Everton had that good chances but it overall it was an excellent game.

5... Hats off to all our backline. Ramsdale always giving the right passes in helping us retain possession and always on the ascendancy is not talked enough. Zinchenko might be playing in midfield but hardly is he ever beaten or caught out of position in his role. Gabriel... Well, one of the best CB in the league (if not the best) and Saliba, the other rock.

5... When we had the purple patch, Most people might think arsenal were already found out and that all they just need is go physical and back the bus. Kudos to Arteta for tweaking and re-jigging the Tactics. Now, we seem more fluent and more assertive (just like first half of the season). Zinny is no longer dropping too deep in the midfield and he's now helping his wingers. Kudos to Arteta!

Good thing we capitalised on our Outstanding
Bournemouth next!!

COYG!!!

Yeah, with those 3 upfront we can be assured we can attack from either side of the field. If our opposition decides to be unfortunate and start Kicking saka, Trossard/Martinelli can always perform magic from the other side.

I like the fact that Trossard is not shy to take a shot at goal whenever it presents itself.
Yeah, the good fact that Trossard is also a dribbler in tight spaces can help us create chances in the final 3rd.

Hopefully we'll get the W today

If we take care of March's business, it will really help us going into a tough April. However, if we falter in March it may be over going into April.

March' Schedule
march 1st vs Everton (H)
March 4th- vs Bournemouth (H)
March 12th vs Fulham (A)
March 19th vs Crystal Palace (H)
April 1st vs Leeds (H)
True, March is easier compared to April. We'll need all the squad depth and wins to consolidate our position entering into April. Hopefully we'll get all maximum points cos it's possible

Check our fixtures and this part caught my attention. All things being equal, this period will be the most crucial period of the season. At that time, our fate practically lies in how much our boys want the trophy and what they are willing to give to take it.

Let’s hope our boys would be up to the task. Let’s also hope the referees and VAR would not screw us too.
Also adding to the fact that there will be European commitments too.

We need to win tomorrow's game vs Everton and then we can talk of having 5 points lead over city after playing the same number of games.

I would welcome using Trossard, Martinelli and Saka upfront like we did vs Leicester and also have Partey back in the middle if he's fully fit now.
I just hope this bolded is the case oo.

We need to get all 3 points tomorrow to give ourselves hope for this title

I'm not ready to argue with you. Kepa is sprawled on the floor, off balance, you say shield ball to pesin wey done drop like who drink two bottles of ogogoro. Any defender not knowing who is on his back will clear a ball the keeper spills out, it happens very often. Those "shield ball" for keeper incidents is for when keeper is on his feet and alert.

The main problem is simply Felix getting swatted aside like a fly.
Someone who didn't know who's at his back won't make that decision of rounding the keeping before playing a pass to Felix. That's the reaction of someone who's in control.

Felix might be blamed for being soft but the main gan gan culprit was Enzo. Whether the keeper was sprawled or not, he would have all the time to catch that ball if only Enzo have scanned his surrounding.

Moreover, let's pretend Kepa wasn't already on his way to get hold of that ball before Enzo sneaked the ball away from him(abi dribbled him like a striker cheesy)

I was surprised at the lack of Smoke Enzo got. Maybe because people were preoccupied with election matters.

That action was rather rash. The smart thing to do was shield the ball and allow kepa claim it.

Let get things straight. Yes the smartest thing to do there is to sheild the ball for Kepa but he might not have been aware that there was no danger at his back as seen from how he quickly try to clear the ball away from the area.

This kind of scenario happens very well in football that doesn't even result to goal in 99.9% of the time so why are we so particular about this one when it's such a rare occurrence.

What happened there was not any players fault. I will be the first person to call out a player when he is not dutiful in his duty but this one here is a non-starter.

Lastly,Oga Balogun pls join the regular trolls here, you have taken it upon themselves as duty to be be looking for every reason to vilify Enzo Fernandez since we bought him and discarded their favourites.. They watch every game to magnify the simplest of thing fails he doesnt do and turn a big blind eye to everything he does well.
Playing the guilt-tripping cards already? For you to even accuse FB.S for trolling Enzo consistently is somehow. If dem tell you make you bring receipts, you go do as if you no see am. Seems you're making Enzo as someone who can't be criticized. So much for being objective!!

You even said he wasn't aware of his surrounding reason why he did that. Indirectly, you're accusing him of lacking awareness (one of the major attributes of elite midfielders).

Continuuuu grin

I'm quite surprised Popi said that.

I mean that was obvious.
3 options.
1. Shield the ball so your keeper can save the rebound
2. Boot it wide as far as you can - pata pata throw-in
3. If no further option - corner dey dia (though that's not my preferred option but still an option)

However you look at it, what he did was NOT the right option.
The easiest and obvious thing is the number 1. Any other option means he didn't trust the keeper at all.

Man had to literally dribble Kepa just so he couldn't catch it, then his option is to clear it and not even as far away as possible. And Popi thought that's the best option.

Wahalaeux grin

Anybody who played football slightly will be appalled by the ignorance of what you deem smart. When has it become a crime to clear out a ball in that situation?

Miss me with this your talks of Jorginho,it doesn't apply here atleast not for me.
Lol... That's never been smart and I'm surprised you see it as one.

The smartest and easiest thing to do is to guide the ball and ensure the keeper gets hold of it. In fact, that was kepa intention until Enzo "dribbled" him grin. It's not as if any Spurs players where threatening for a rebound that he made such rushed decision.

To think you even think that as the correct option says a lot

You know if he play it to throw-in or corner, it'll be termed sideways pass

If e leave am make GK catch, he's not progressive at all (since that's like passing back to keeper)
